After I posted about this on the Nextdoor app, multiple other people came forward saying he also tried to scam them in similar ways. This appears to be a pattern of dishonest behavior, not a one-time mistake. I'm reporting him and his so-called business to the Better Business Bureau and urge anyone else who's had a similar experience to do the same. Do not trust this person with your money or your home.
