Went in Monday for an Amazon return. Lawn mower and blower. Quite heavy. Unfortunately they were closed due to the storm. Totally understandable. I called amazon to get an extension on my return. Took over and hour but they extended it. Went in today. I showed the guy at the counter my email to click for the return label or share it. The gentleman at the counter had me go into my Amazon account and cancel the return saying this is how it's done. Well. It's not and I couldn't return my mower. He got the owner who said I had to call amazon. Nothing they can do. I said he should be fired. She said it's only his 3rd day. Ok. Then why wasn't he being supervised? She told me that I'm rude and to call amazon. Nothing they can do. I am short on free time and desperately need my refunded money. This was the worst customer experience. Do not go here. read more

I have always found this location helpful. I actually prefer the kiosks, because I can take care of my own stuff without having to wait in line. But I find that the line here always moves quickly and the employees get things done in an efficient manner. It has to be pretty annoying being a location inside a Dierbergs and getting all that foot traffic, but I've never had a bad experience here. read more

Had an Amazon return. Item that was ordered was not what was received, and the box it came in looked like it was dug out of a dumpster. Went to UPS on Zumbehl and Phil helped us get this thing sent back. He got us a new box and repackaged it. The return label would not print, he worked with the Amazon site , obtained the label, and made sure we had a return receipt for proof. He was absolutely amazing to work with. All while he directed everyone coming in the door. That place is crazy busy! I think this was our tenth visit to the store since we moved here a few weeks ago, and they are marvelous to work with. Every person is patient and friendly, and meets our needs. My go to for bill shredding, I hate dealing with home shredders. Thank you Phil!! read more

UPS used to be my preferred shipper. Not anymore. Had a package I shipped a few weeks ago to New York, a car part I'm having a guy work on has been helping me repair it. I sent it to him in New York on 4/18 and insured it for $325, cost me $26.74 to ship it to New York back on 4/18. Since then the guy in New York worked on it and sent it back to me already, but unfortunately I needed to send it back to him again today (not UPS fault). Today I go back to the same UPS location I shipped it from on 4/18, the front counter gentleman says I need to package it in one of their boxes (mind it it's in the same box that it was shipped in at their location a few weeks ago for $26.74 while insuring it for $325). Ultimately same package, same destination, same insured amount, same weight, he claimed the cheapest I should ship it was over $100 including the cost to repackage it, when I questioned the cheapest option, he claimed something like "it was outside their normal shipping area" or something. That's not where it ends. I leave and ship it via FedEx (because I knew it didn't cost that much to ship this to New York). And I go home, get my receipt from 4/18 that has the same exact dimensions, same exact destination, same exact insured amount when I shipped it a few weeks ago and go back to the UPS store to confront the front counter gentleman. The gentleman refuses to admit he made a mistake regarding cheapest the shipping costs he quoted me. Claiming "the screen says what it said." It's clear he rung up the shipping wrong. A 14 in. x 14 in. x 5 in. package weighing 1.45 lb going from 63303 to 14424 with $325 insured value on it doesn't cost $26.74 one day, and then over $100 less than a month later. And again that was the 'cheapest' possible shipping option according to him. There were 2 other guys working at time too, and they clearly overheard, neither one of them intervened. Poor training, poor customer service. The gentleman at the counter clearly made a mistake, but blamed the computer instead of himself. Unacceptable. I will be sharing this story with everyone I know, and directing them to ship with another parcel service from now on. read more

I can only assume the people who have rated this store low are impatient. Do they have super busy times? Yes. Are you there at those times? Like me, it's probably after work, so yes. Be patient. They are staffed and working as fast as they can. Whether I am 1st or 11th in line, it's just a matter of patience - no sighing, no eye-rolling, no snide comments to others in line. They can't help that it's 5:30pm, maybe it's the holiday season, and the person who got there first needs more assistance than I do. I'll never understand our entitled human race. A run-of-the-mill UPS Store location. It's small; located inside a Dierbergs grocery store. I've been in a few times before. The staff is friendly and efficient. Today, I dropped off a return for a cable company. Pretty straightforward. The lady who helped me gave me a receipt and advised me to hold on to it for a while, just in case there's a processing error on the part of the recipient. Helpful advice! Rudest notary I have ever encountered. We recently visited this location to finalise some paperwork which required notarisation to purchase our new home in Saint Louis. We presented our IDs and military IDs as we were mid-relocation and didn't have up-to-date drivers licenses yet. (We need to establish residency before we could obtain new MO licenses.) The notary pointed out that my license was expired, and my husband started to explain that military IDs are federal government issued IDs. This notary raised their hand, snapped and interrupted my husband, saying he was yelling at them and that he needed to calm down. No one even raised their voice. No one even looked over in our direction. My husband was a Drill instructor, if he wanted to yell, everyone in Dierbergs would have heard it. He is just very direct and to the point. (Credit to 20+ years of military service.) We let them finish their little rant and to keep the peace, we remained silent while they began filling out their paperwork. Then when the "know-it-all" didn't know how to spell Omaha and expected us to come to their aid after being so dismissive and rude. I mentioned I was unsure they wanted me to give them the correct spelling since they had interrupted us earlier in the conversation. At which point, they slammed their little book closed and stated they are "empowered by their manager to refuse to service" and then refused to notarise our document. Their flare for the dramatic actually drew attention from other patrons. It was the worst customer service encounter in a new city and it really goes to show you how much they appreciate customers and veterans. I hope they appreciate the freedoms they get to enjoy, from all sacrifices my husband has made the past 20+ years. I try and give grace to those in the service industry as I don't know if they are having a rough day or life, but it is not my job to manage their attitude. That falls completely to them and when hired into an industry where service is part of the title, you are entrusted with providing a just that, "a good service experience to the customer," regardless of your personal feelings or temper. I suggest that someone who wields their fancy stamp and works in customer service needs to have more than plastic bag thin skin to continue to be employed. God forbid they actually encounter someone who was actually upset, they would melt into a puddle of pathetic UPS polyester. It appears from other reviews that I'm not the only person to feel that this location is unsatisfactory at best. We ended up going to a different UPS store and we were treated so kindly. They even apologised for something that didn't even take place in their store! read more

Totally overpriced mail!! Had 2 packages to mail. Lowest price quoted $22.35 and $13.50. Went to Post Office and cost $7.00 total to be delivered in 3 days. Unbelievable!!! 5x the cost is unacceptable. Avoid this store!! read more

So I must share this story of how not only RUDE the Zumbehl location of The UPS store is but to it's customers too. See let me just first say we have had a box at that location for many years, pay over $300.00 just to receive our mail there for our business! Never had I been treated so rudely as I was by the new management/owners! And I will say we have seen our fair share of owners here! It's like a revolving door ‍ A few weeks ago I went in to check our box and saw we had a ticket/tag in there signifying we had a package! Mind you there was a line outside the door so I waited over to the side until I was able to see if they would get my package for me. This chick looked at me and said "Are you next in line?" I said "No I just need my package that was delivered here!" Let me just say when you are a box holder you AREN'T just another "Customer"!!! So she snarkily replied "Well you have to go to the end of the line!" I said "I don't need you to ship anything for me I only need it given to me, takes you 2 seconds!" She said "Doesn't matter you have to wait in line like everyone else!" I plainly told her "Um NO I will not and by Jan 1 we will be closing our service here!" Fast forward to this week....I had a package to drop off and the line was out the door. Some lady and guy looked at me as I was approaching the door "You can't go in you have to wait outside and in line like the rest of us!" I looked at them and said "Oh really? Watch me!!!" I opened said door, dropped my package and went right to my box! And yes that rude worker was there and just looked up as I passed by. I checked my mail and said "Wait in line....I think not!" As I passed the nosy Ken and Karen I said "And that's how it's done! Have a Merry Christmas....Oh and yeah 1 more thing....Mind your own damn business!" Very sad to say that this location has disappointed me. The management did not know the polices and procedures that are directed by UPS. They incorrectly labeled my package and my $800 watch STILL has not been delivered. When I spoke with the manager he did not accept fault and could of cared less. I paid extra for delivery and had zero service. I did insure my package. The UPS stores off of Mid Rivers and HWY K are much more knowledgeable and both were on par with the streamline policy and procedures that UPS regulates by. Maybe the Zumbehl location needs to reread them. As an FYI my package was from STL to DC. I have waited an entire day dealing with this. read more

Originally called to have them change an incorrect address and was directed to follow a wrong path that led to a lot of frustration and many wasted hours on the phone. Called them back the next day and spoke to a very efficient and responsive employee that was apologetic of the mistake and took care of my request with ease. The guy Shawn that works there has no clue. He told me when I originally called that my package was there and I said "I am calling the 5th street location yes?" He said "yes" I went to that location and it is permanently closed. So I called him back and asked him to hold the items for me and that I would be up there but I had to leave unexpectedly the next day to go out of town. They sent my items back to UPS which in turn sent it back to the retailer. Now the items are out of stock and I am unable to get them for my child's birthday. We were with this store for 2 years and since it changed hands, Joe and his crew are terrible. Many times we had our mail sent to us and they sent it to the wrong address or incomplete address etc. we also requested tracking numbers and always had to call back to get them. Before mailbox was due we let them know ahead of time we wouldn't be renewing and sent them the key and the correct address to have them send the mail Shawn had told us was in the box. We never received it and after 4 calls getting the run around, Joe said they don't know where it is, can't find it and evidently he doesn't care. Went into the UPS Store owned by Jon Foust and was greeted by rude, obnoxious employees. I asked if they performed certain services but I was told that I was too late for that service today, that they end that service at 5:00, (it was 4:50pm) and that they would no longer be performing it that day. I informed the employees that it was not yet 5:00 and that according to the website they perform this service until 6:00PM. The employees that became hostile and demeaning. At this point I became upset and asked to speak to a manager. A young punk kid spoke up (who acted like he was either high or drunk) saying he was the manager, still giving attitude. I said, ok, well who is your owner, my wife worked for a USPS store and I knew they where franchised. They gave me a card, and said they would call him. I waited for 20minutes, getting more and more upset, only to finally be told I was to get out. I said simply what have I done wrong. I was misinformed by a representative of this store what time they did a service to, when I got to the store I was again told they did it until 5:00 and not 6:00, and than was harassed when I said it is only 4:50. The power Jon Foust than called the store back, had the punk "manager" give me the phone and than was verbally abused, told to leave, or they would call the cops not even letting me explain to him my side of the story.
