When I told that I can tape the box at home and bring again, they didn't accept and didn't give my box back. And I was charged the fee. I've involuntarily done a head-to-head comparison of this UPS store with the Post Office next door, and the same service (dropping off a package) was an order of magnitude faster and more pleasant here. I also had an excellent experience getting my revised will notarized and witnessed (though I needed to bring one witness of my own; a UPS employee served as the other). Bobby was remarkably thorough in following New Jersey's requirements for getting a will to be self-proving, rather than requiring my executor in -- I hope -- the distant future to track down the witnesses (which I recommend for everyone who isn't actually immortal). read more

United Parcel Service? How about Usurious Pricing Scheme. Any service here is likely 3x what it would cost elsewhere, a fact made especially galling with the USPS right next door. If you ever have the need or desire to ship a tuba to Lichtenstein perhaps UPS could come in handy for packing and shipping but if by chance you're not managing an orchestra, there are far more cost effective options available. They are the friendliest, most professional, and helpful UPS store I've come across. I've also used their notary services which was quick and easy. Do not go to this store for scanning!!!! I went to this store to scan some documents to my email. #1 They scan the documents to the store's email so they have copies of everything you scan (confidentiality issues!!!) AND they dont delete the scans. The girl working actually emailed me someone else's docs on accident. THANK GOD I AM A GOOD PERSON!! #2 The owner is greedy! To scan you are simply using a machine to scan to email - aka theres no ink or paper used and its not faxing (using the phone line) - you are simply just using the machine.... well they charged me $1.47 PER PAGE to scan the document which is absolutely ridiculous. I was beyond shocked when the young lady rung me up. There isnt a price list anywhere for you to see the scam ring they are operating in that store. I called customer service to complain and they basically told me that the owner of the store sets the prices of scanning, faxing etc. $45 dollars down the drain when I couldve just done it elsewhere for free. The employee working today at 3:20 p.m. refused to honor the prepaid shipping that I have, quoting, it will cost $54 to ship THIS item. For your information, THE item was a MacBook Pro 13 inch, and I received a prepaid shipping label from Best Buy, that stated it will not cost me to ship THIS MacBook Pro 13 inch. In addition, the employee refused to provide me with the manager's information when requested. The employee stated, "I can't give you his name and number." Only when I persist, the employee said, "His name is Bobby." Nothing else - didn't inform me his working hours or his full name. Furthermore, this isn't the first time that I encountered issue at this particular UPS Store location. Yesterday, the employee charged me $0.21/ B&W paper printing, and today $0.66/B&W paper printing. The only difference was time and day I arrived, and somehow the price went up. Very odd business practice. Lastly, I decided to ship with USPS - just a stone's away for a total of $34, with insurance up to $1300, ample of bubblewrap, and tracking number! Wow, I have never had a worse experience shipping anything than I did at this store. I shipped something large and expensive to California which was made out of glass. I made sure to wrap it way more than necessary with bubble wrap and packing supplies and talked with the manager about my concerns. He recommended I buy large "fragile" stickers from him for $10 to put on the box which I did. He then reassured me that it would get there fine. About a week later when the box arrived, the contents were completely shattered and it looked as if the box had been thrown against a wall. As I had insured the package, I called into UPS and they said to contact the store manager from which I shipped it. When I did so, not only was the same manager not at all apologetic, he also tried to accuse me of sending it pre-broken simply to cheat him of insurance money! I pointed out that it was insured for less than I found it would cost to replace and also that I would not be getting refunded the $30 I spent to ship it but he didn't change his tone. I understand that it was probably broken while in transit, however, I have never been treated this poorly by an employee when HIS company broke something of mine. DO NOT TRUST THIS STORE. I have had a mailbox here for several years and had pretty good service during those times. After I moved, I didn't need a box anymore. Once I drove by and the manager saw me. He actually handed me a bunch of mail that still went to the box after I closed it. I thought that was beyond his call of duty. This store was always very busy so I can see why some may see it as a bit messy, but considering the amount of traffic it handles, I think it is quite okay. read more

Excellent Packing for my friend's Fragile stuff

I'm extremely disappointed in this UPS store. I only visited them twice and they managed to screw up both times. 1st was about a year ago, I went there to ship a package overnight, the guy there charged me the overnight rate but put the package for much cheaper ground shipping. Luckily, I checked the receipt carefully and returned to the store immediately for correction. I highly doubted it was a just a careless mistake. 2nd was very recent, they provide fingerprinting for www.Fieldprint.com, I went there for a fingerprint. The lady there was NOT able to use equipment professionally, she gives the wrong instructions and tried to bend my fingers to a point that I had to stop her because it started to hurt me. Then she switched to another procedure to get it done. Now after two weeks I was told that the fingerprint was not valid because wrong instructions was given to me. This will delay an important process for me. I'm just so pissed right now. I'd advice anyone to try to avoid them if you could. read more

I was shipping several mementos from my Mother's home in NJ to my home in Colorado. While these items (candle sticks, water pitcher, big white swan, etc.), were not of much value, they were to me. They belonged to my Mother before she passed away in January 2019 at the age of 103 and three months. At UPS, Anita wrapped and packed them. When I received the two boxes, the only thing that was missing was a stick of dynamic. She had packed the items so well, bubble wrap 5-7 times around, and lots of cellophane tape, that I had difficulty in opening them. They were wrapped so well, you couldn't even tell what was in each bubble pack. It took scissors and a knife to finally get everything open. Unbelievable job in wrapping and packing! Not one thing was in the least damaged! Anita was very personable when she waited on my Sister and me. She seemed to be able to do anything that was required at the Store. Thanks to a lovely young woman, who did an absolutely fabulous job of doing her job. read more

I would like to echo other people's negative reviews of this place. I came for notary service and to scan 5 pages to be emailed. I was charged $1.29 per page of scanning for purely using the machine. It was rung up on my receipt as faxing, which are not the same thing. I would be more likely to give a free tip if the business was more honest. read more

If there is less than 1 star I would give that. I have to print my tax return and she charged us $24 (for 28 pages) and she told us it printed in color. Everything is black and white. Even though the hubby and I were only going into this store for quick passport photos I was not happy with the service nor the condition of the store. The young lady helping us was not friendly and did not say thank you, she just kept talking on her cell phone. Honestly, the other part that really bothered me was how unorganized and down right dingy and dirty this business is. Half the lights are not working and the in store music was such poor quality that I had to go outside to escape it. It completely turned me off to UPS stores in general. I would not go out of my way to use this business in any way and I wonder if that is the standard on service, organization and cleanliness that the UPS Franchise Association finds acceptable. The woman here is incredibly rude and they overcharge for all of the services. In addition to that they are still in the Stone Age and make you fill out a paper form with the information they could just type in. The woman said she would email me the receipt and after all of the trouble I had with the transaction so far I waited for her to process it. She then said she forgot to add my email and asked me to take a picture of the tracking number on the sticker on the package. Most stores have the tracking number on the receipt because they enter the package into the system while you are there. UPS/ This Store sucks!!!! CAUTION: UPS shipment insurance means nothing. Don't buy it... Better yet avoid using UPS altogether...UPS lost my $680 worth of event tickets I was returning. In spite of packing tickets in front of employees at this UPS store and buying insurance, the tickets mysteriously disappeared during shipment. After following up for more than two months with local store as well as the UPS corporate, I just was informed that regretfully they can not approve the claim and will be glad to return shipping charges.... $#%#&! Initially I was not sure if this is an UPS policy issue or issue at this store (my subsequent conversations with 800-PICK-UPS indicated that it was an issue at the store). So here goes... I printed the tracking using UPS online to ship a laptop and paid for insurance for $1000. All inclusive (shipping plus insurance plus charge for signing upon delivery) it came to around $26 which I paid online. As part of the forms that got printed, there was a sheet which indicated that the form has to be signed by one of the reps at the store. The reps at the store refused to sign stating that I had to take the package to their Hamilton office only. When I asked if I can remove the label on the package and she can ship it out for me. I specified that I will provide the same details (i.e, shipping plus insurance) and she can print a shipping label. She said that it would cost me $42 which is like almost double!! Terribly disappointed, I decided to walk out and take it up with UPS customer service. Spoke to customer service who was puzzled by this too and said they should have accepted it. Frustrated with the entire episode, I decided to ship it out by USPS as I had to get the package on time and did not have the time to figure out why the shop would not honor the online shipping. read more

This was, without a doubt, the worst experience I've ever had at any UPS in the country. I went there for an FBI background check to get a VISA, a process that takes 2 minutes. When I arrived for my 12:10 appointment (scheduled online), I was told to wait continuously while other customers that arrived well after me were served first. I was finally assisted at 12:30. I think the employees were, to be straightforward, discriminatory. The clerk was Indian, and served all of the Indian men and women in the room first, regardless of when they arrived. I don't want to frequent a place that discriminates among customers. I won't return. read more

I had my girlfriend with me and she noticed the woman rolled her eyes at me while I went to swipe my card. I walked in 4pm with a very large and heavy shipment. The woman explained the insurance well, she explained the charges well, double checked the charges to make sure it was calculated correct and I paid for a 3 day delivery. Since it was so late she wasn't sure if the manager would be able to get it packaged in time for that night's pickup, but she said don't worry we'll do our best. While I filled out the address paper I noticed she was helpful to 2 other customers waiting in line. Where in other ups stores I just forward my label to their email and I don't get charged for anything.
