COMMENT ABOUT CANADA POST IN GENERAL, not this specific address…read more The government wonders why people are not using Canada Post, our national postal service. Maybe because there is no accountability. The employees can steal any package they want and they don't get fired. I actually had one supervisor come to my home, knock on my door and threaten me with physical violence because I complained about crushed mail. All of my mail was being crushed into little balls and being shoved up inside the top of my apartment mailbox. That would take extra time on behalf of the postie and could clearly not be done the regular delivery way. After complaining about the threat on myself, I never heard from Canada Post again. I now get my mail in proper condition but have not received one single package that I have ordered, or that friends send me. I don't always get to choose how my packages are sent so I'm stuck. Latest offense, a book I requested in September, still has not arrived 16 October 2015.

This year, I bought an expensive premium kitchen item at almost $200 price from seller in Scarborough, ON. Again, was tracking it all the time - the parcel arrived in Nepean, ON, in 2 days, and again that's where it mysteriously disappeared. When tracking showed entries like - client requested to put on hold - I knew that something did not add up. I know that I did not make any such request, and nobody else could, since I live alone. I also know I could not make a request at 1 pm, as I was at work at that time. I created a ticket, submitted a complaint and called Canada Post to inquire if I can just go to the Nepean processing centre myself and pick it up there. They said no, but the parcel has been delivered the next day. The carton was obviously torn open, all bubble wrap around that expensive item was gone, the carton was re-taped multiple times. Based on 2 cases that happened to me personally, I believe there are employees in Canada Post who steal goods form mailed packages. I find this disturbing and decided not to use Canada Post any more.

What an incredible experience. When I first sent out a request for quotes for a ring clean &…read morepolish, Dixon's was one of the first company to respond. Their response was also direct and efficient, just the way I like things to be done. I finally recently had the time to stop by, so I did a drop-in. The jeweller or staff that greeted me did a quick inspection under her fancy lamp, then brought it to the back to be cleaned. I was able to wait around and it took all of 15-20min from check in to check out process. I really appreciate how efficient and friendly they were. And my ring came out looking brand new.

Amazing place. I…read morefirst contacted Mathew 2 years ago, around Christmas time. I had a vision of what the perfect ring for my partner would look like. I went to countless jewellery stores and was always told "the features are too complicated and it doesn't warrant the design." This all changed when I met Mathew. He was open and willing to take on the challenge of building the perfect ring. I described to him the meaning of the ring. I even went as far as trying to figure out how many twists the bands would have and the number of diamonds on the band, in order to be symbolic of our relationship. Mathew asked me why I had chosen a specific style and feature. So I described that the band was to be simple yet stunning, like my partner. The center stone was to represent her heart and I wanted it to be as big and clear as possible. Together we went through multiple design stages. For example, changing the diamond sizes on the twist in order to make it look nicer. When it came to choosing the center stone, Mathew knew exactly what I was after. He told me that it would take time, but he was willing to bring in diamonds to show me, until we found the perfect one. Never once did he pressure me into choosing a specific stone. He told me to be patient and that when the moment came, I would know I had found the perfect diamond. Well the day came. Mathew presented me with the final stone, and he was right, I knew it was the one for the ring. He agreed that it matched my description perfectly. The ring design was completed next and high quality photos were given to me for approval. I once again decided to make changes to the ring. This time adding each of our initials and birth stones to the side of the ring. Mathew agreed it was a very nice touch to the ring. When all was said and done, the final ring came out better then I had ever expected. Mathew said the reaction on my face was priceless. He felt the ring was exactly what I had envisioned for my partner. All this to say, Dixon Jewelers allowed me to come up with exactly what I felt my partner deserved in order to reflect who she is. Dixon Jewelers accepted the challenge and was fully supportive through this LONGER than normal process (only due to my changes :) ). Thank you so much for all your hard work and I look forward to doing more projects with you in the future.

I have been drycleaning my clothes at Hilary's for years due to convenience of their locations, but…read moreafter they ruined yet another one of my expensive items recently, and were unwilling to compensate me for it, I won't set foot there again. They've also just raised their prices, again, and it's not worth it at all. In the past few years I have seen quality of their services decline and more and more often, my clothes come back not only still dirty but with new stains that weren't there when I brought them in. Buttons that are not easily replaceable will be missing, zippers will be broken, threads will be loose and snags will appear where there weren't any before. They are harsh with the clothes - but that doesn't necessarily mean they come back clean in the process. I have had to send back clothes 3 or 4 times to be cleaned again - and I still get charged for it despite the inconvenience and the delays in time. Full price. Employees at their locations are unconcerned and more importantly, not empowered to provide full customer service - they are not able to give a discount for shoddy jobs, or at least they say they can't; they are unaware of the monthly specials advertised on Hilary's own website online, or at least they claim to be. All complaints are up to the mythical Mr. Hilary to resolve, and he has not done a very good job at that up till now. I called Holt Renfrew, the most expensive store in town, to ask where their clients send their clothes to be drycleaned. It is called Monson, and it is on Beechwood, and it is where the city's diplomats and high-ranking officials take their clothing. If it's good enough for the governor-general, it's good enough for me. I will no longer go to Hilary's to pay them to ruin my clothing.

I spoke with the president of the company, who was unwilling to make proper amends. The response that I received was that I would receive a small credit upon my next visit - in other words, spend more money here, and we'll give you a discount. Unacceptable customer service. Given some of the comments that I've read, I am not surprised. Fortunately, there are many other cleaners in the area who appreciate business and know how to treat customers properly.
