At first, I was afraid that I had to go pick it up at the Canpar depot which is super far from my house, but was pleasantly surprised that I didn't have to travel far after all. They dropped it off at Penguin Pick-Up. When I arrived, the staff were super nice, found my package quickly, and even carried it to my car for me (!) How nice is that? (It was a big and bulky package so I definitely appreciated the help). I asked them what they are all about because like I said, I had never heard of this business, and they said that they are a drop off and pick up business. So you can buy stuff online and have the Penguin Pick-Up office as your delivery address, and then you can pick up your package at your convenience. Also places like FedEx and Canpar drop packages there for customers who live nearby so they don't have to drive to the depot which is farther away. Cool! So you don't pay anything for their services, it's the delivery company that pays them. Very interesting... Anyway, the business idea sounds cool, and they were really nice to me, so I'm a fan. 5 stars ;)

When I made an appointment I detailed the items to be removed from my lower level, including a…read morestacked washer and dryer. The young and seemingly inexperienced men were late, then they went downstairs where I had taken the items out and were therefore easily accessible. Studying the stacked washer/dryer, they proceeded to make a phone call. Then they told me, although with apologies, they couldn't take it, because they didn't have any straps or tools with them???? What???? I told them I had straps and plenty of tools and could assist them if necessary. They proceeded to tell me that their manager told them not to bother...someone could get hurt or the walls could get damaged. Bottom line, they simply didn't want to do the job and it's obvious these guys were inexperienced. I realize it's hard to get good help since COVID but come on! I had to move the items back out of the way until I could have them removed. I booked "Junk Ninjas" the next day. They were $65 cheaper and had no problem removing all the items carefully without hesitation.

The main address for this location already has a Suite number in its address thus any mailbox…read morenumber you get at this location will pose a problem on almost all computer entry forms where you need to have your address put into their website including your bank. Thus this becomes a source of frustration since you can not add your actual mailbox number into your address online to order from amazon etc. i talked with the manager about how to cancel my mailbox to find out how much notice they needed and she told me i could cancel anytime. When I showed ip on the third day of the month to retrieve my mail they actually had a withhold mail card with my mail refusing to give me my mail until i paid for another three months since three months is their minimum payment even after you have had your mailbox for three months to a year or more, their rule is still that you have to pay a full three months, even when you are canceling your mailbox. Also they will not take a payment from a bank debit card over the phone, only from a credit card thus if you are traveling and need to call in a payment you must have an actual credit card and not a debit card.

The repair shop, close to my office, put a new battery in my computer but just over 3 months later, the battery swelled. I took the computer into Silicon Valley in Embrun. They advised me that the swollen battery could be dangerous and they offered to remove it and dispose of it. I was so grateful and relieved that they took action immediately and prevented a potentially harmful situation from happening.
