I come here often to drop off items since I work at Sentara Norfolk General. If you come at rush hour it's super busy but if you come after 5:30pm it's not too bad. I got here at 6:20pm on a Tuesday and they close at 6:30. I always pay attention to the staff's attitude especially towards the end of the day and the young lady at the front desk was so kind and compassionate even as more people came in at 6:29pm. Kudos to the staff. Though I didn't have to interact with her because the have an Amazon self service station (which is awesome!) I couldn't help but give the staff a shoutout for their excellent service. Keep it up! read more

I frequently go to the UPS Store to return items from Amazon and other online stores. Recently I went to this location in Norfolk off 21st Street. I typically bring my packages in boxes not taped to allow for content verification. While visiting this location I was informed that I would be charged $1.50 for them to tape the box. The associate refused to accept my return unless I agreed to this additional fee. This is the first time I have encountered such a charge while making a return, and I found the interaction unprofessional. Due to this experience, I do not plan to use this location in the future. read more

This store is in a pretty busy shopping center right in the middle of everything in Ghent. I was already running errands and had a return I needed to drop off so I stopped here - there was a long line of about 8 people in front of me but they had 2-3 people helping out and it moved pretty quickly. read more

Since the India people have taken over the store, they want to charge you for a piece of tape. The taper box store did not used to be like this until they took it over on the new management or whatever as you can look at the sign up there it's owned and locally operated so I don't even think they value us as the real UPS company does read more

I frequent this particular UPS Store - located in the heart of Ghent on 21st St - mostly for Amazon returns. I try to get there at opening, when it's relatively quiet and it's proved to be a good time to go and I've never had to wait. The store is clean and organized and the staff has been consistently helpful. The only thing that would bring it up to 5 stars would be the addition of a self serve counter. The location I use in Greenbrier has this option and it is so helpful during busy periods! Glad to have this store close to my work. It's been helpful in meeting my return needs. read more

I usually have good experiences here -- in fact, just yesterday I left a very positive review on Google about the excellent service I received from Rose. But today was the complete opposite. Since the ownership changed, the service has become inconsistent. The young man who appears to be the owner/manager was extremely rude to me for the second time. I just stopped in to drop off a box for UPS. The staff member was friendly. The store was tidy & clean. It is located in a busy shopping area. I park on the side of the building where it's not as busy. The store had stickers on the floor to space customers for social distancing. Masks are required. This store offers copying services, PO Boxes, and other shipping services. If you're in need of shipping, I'd give this place a chance. read more

The best part about this place might be the convenient location. Unfortunately, the employees are nothing remarkable. They get the job done, but that's about it. Generally when I have come in to mail a package, the person who is helping me has earbuds in and they are talking on their cell phone to a friend. No eye contact or conversation with the customer occurs. Three times this year I have come in and their "system is down" so I have gone down the street to use another service. read more

Convenient Ghent Norfolk location in a steadily busy shared parking lot. They offer printing/document finishing services, fax and notary services, shipping and moving supplies, not to mention mailbox and white glove services, albeit for premiums. Unlike the UPS store on Tidewater Dr, this store's employees have been outgoing, friendly and customer service oriented in the dozen times I've visited. Whether it's Amazon returns, sending eBay packages, or scoring large shipping boxes, they always embody efficiency with a smile. Many times, they'll see customers with pre-labeled barcodes packages and confirm, "return? Need a receipt?" In and out in seconds, that's nice! read more

Pick another shop. Customer service earns a negative response. I rarely leave negative responses. Lost my package then wouldn't return my calls till they found it and delivered it more than a month past the date that I paid for it to be delivered on. Read the fine print. Even if you pay for overnight or 2 day delivery they will not give a refund even if it's a month later that they find it and deliver it- already opened. I went to the shop multiple times. The manager "was never in". When you leave a message they don't call back. Until they finally find the package and deliver so that they no longer owe you any reimbursement- to include any insurance when you already re-bought the thing you were trying to get to your family member that really needed it. And now I can't return the old one. Choose another shop that might return your calls at least read more

Unbelievably terrible store and service. Staff does not adhere to store hours, it is often messy, and often packages are not organized or sorted. This is the fifth time the store has closed well before the hours posted on the door. Customer service is hit-or-miss. Only reason I haven't moved my mailbox is because of proximity to my home. Customer service is poor. Printing a label is pretty much impossible due to the extremely poor quality of single customer computer that saves tons of emails and passwords of other customers. Very high risk of other people logging into your email if you're not careful about logging out or making sure your information wasn't saved. Oh and for all that risk you get a pretty sweet fee for using the computer and then another per page you print... if you were able to get that far. read more

I wish I could rate it with no stars. They sent me an email with the wrong time to get my package. Then they did not knock hard enough for me to hear them. My door was left so they could tell someone was home. This is a complaint about UPS as a business, not a particular center. I lost a whole day because I was upstairs in my home. Two times now, I have had an amazing experience at the UPS store and this review is to give kudos to the employee who was there on Friday June 5 at about 10:50 in the morning. I had mistakenly brought a postage-paid item there instead of the post office. Before she told me that the labels were for USPS only, the employee repackaged what I had to send, put a tape on my label and gave me directions to the post office. She created a lot of goodwill and I will definitely recommend this UPS store to all my friends. Please ensure she knows how valuable her action was to your company. Very convenient location next to the Starbuck's and Moe's here in Ghent. My preferred place to go (of course, only place in the area) for next day or 2 day shipments. They are expensive, but they are the only people here who ship quickly. They have a nice selection of packing supplies but of course you're going to have to pay up the nose for them. read more

The UPS Store. A pretty utilitarian place. We come here to deposit checks with USAA, so we're not up here very often. When I do come in, it's usually on Saturday afternoons, and the staff who work there do seem to recognize me, which I appreciate. Unless they are busy, the staff is pretty friendly, and even when they're busy, they're polite and professional. I've never had a bad experience with their service, and their up-time is relatively reliable. In the 2 years that I've been coming here to deposit checks and ship packages, I've only had one instance where the USAA service was down, and it was not their responsibility anyway - the error was on the other end. Overall, I prefer coming to the UPS store over the post office for mailing anything - they just treat me better here. read more

I've never written a review for anything but I feel compelled to now. I went to return my textbooks which I rented for this semester. I had to print my return slip. I had arrived over 10 minutes before they closed but I was immediately greeted with an attitude. They told me they already closed the computer and everything down for the night. They weren't helpful or apologetic and told me by the time I got to the other UPS locations that close at 7 it would be too late. The guy sat there and did nothing and had his airpods in and was playing on his phone and the girl was rude, had an attitude, and asked "what do you want". Now I will be charged a late fee for all of my books. They also locked up right after I left when they are not supposed to close until 6:30. I watched multiple other people try to go in to mail packages. I don't think UPS should be like this especially during the holiday season... whoever was working tonight should not be employed in customer service. I'm very angry that this is now costing me money and will most likely be back to speak with a manager. This was ridiculous. I've worked many customer service jobs and I understand sometimes you want to leave early but it's part of your job to keep working until the place closes lol read more

I wish there were star minus option. I had to go this place 3-4 times. And never ever received a good service. The workers are rude, unhelpful with full of attitude. The last straw was yesterday when I had to ship using our client's UPS account number. No surprise what they said: "We can't ship using an account number, MAYBE the hub location (by the airport) would do." Imagine a company lets you create an account for the convenience of their customers, and yet a location refuses to let the customer use this service. And that is this location. I left the store immediately, and went to the PakMail right down the street. It didn't even take take them 2 minutes to process my package. I chose to ship important items for a conference instead of checking them as baggage on my flight. The store clerk seemed disinterested but took my package, got the vital information and gave me the price to ship ($126.78). In our conversation, I said the conference was scheduled to begin on 3-25-18 in the evening. I okayed the transaction and paid. The transaction took place on 3-19-18. I am now notified that my package will not arrive until Tuesday, 3-27. Reading the other reviews that mention speedy deliveries, etc., I thought this was a great idea... now I'm out of town without my materials for my conference, with no recourse. read more
