The Maywood UPS store has been my assistant when I wrote my chemistry book, and the three updates.

If I can give a 0 to this business I would my iPhone 17 pro max got stolen from one of the employees or the manager Scott . I payed 7.99$ to request for my valuable phone to get dropped off safely to this access point and as I was getting ready to pick up my package when I called Scott had the nerve to tell me he handed my package that contain my phone value of 1,500 dollars to a stranger! a man at that when I'm a woman . First off what doesn't make sense to me is how was my package handed out to a stranger that's supposed to be verified and sign by only !!!! The person receiving the package. This doesn't make any sense there reported ! This is an expensive package not only was he rude and nasty but had the nerve to tell me he handed it to a guy and that he's on footage what type of bs is that . They know there law and rules as there not to release anything to no one other then the person matching the picture and name of the package . Becareful do not come here with valuable packages the works will make it there business to get there hands into it . Becareful please . They should not have works like this in these type of business . We trust in there loyalty and safety with are packages ! Stay aware ! read more

Due to series of screw-ups, I had a half-hour to print a contract, get it signed, witnessed, and sent out by 6PM. Everything got messed up, but when I arrived at the UPS store at 6:45 they took care of the package immediately and even stopped the delivery guy from leaving. Their quick service and willingness to make the extra effort, pulled my chestnuts out of the fire and saved my bacon. read more

The nicest people work at this store. Never a line, and when there is they apologize as if it's their fault. Always greeted upon walking in, and it's always so quick. I go out of my way to always return to this particular store. read more

Fantastic UPS! Never a line, pleasant workers, and lollipops for my toddler! We even got something notarized for $2.00!

ATTN: NEW OWNERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT! I visited the UPS store yesterday and had an excellent experience. I was born and raised in Maywood and therefore I care a lot about the business on West Pleasant Ave. This store has new owners who clearly care about treating people with kindness and respect. I received very quick and excellent service. The store looked renovated and up-to-date. read more

I rarely use UPS , the one time I did was this sat. I was shocked at the terrible service I rec'd here plus The guy behind the counter (Asian ) was rude to the point where I had to hold back from decking him. How does this guy get business ? Amazing more people don't blow up at him. It's enough to do my shipping with FEDEX from now on, it's crazy enough this time of the year without dealing with some punk behind the counter . read more

Ok. I'm giving one star because the younger gentleman in training was not a complete douchebag. I googled UPS stores near me while on my way home to avoid unnecessary traffic. Maybe I should've just went to another one despite the inconvenience???? I'm waiting in line when there's a lady in front of me kindly says "Is there someone behind me? Maybe you should help her first." Worker sarcastically and impatiently says "...I will" Mkay..He signals me to put down my package on the counter. He sees that I have not taped the box. He points, gives me a look and says "you didn't tape the box?" I state, no "I have not. Do you have tape?" He says, "you can purchase our tape or pay $1.50 and we'll tape it for you." Must be some fine job taping you must do... FINEEE. I pay the $1.50 and wait for receipt. He's clearly training a younger employee and is talking to him like he's a moron the entire time, yelling at him in front of customers. Someone clearly needs a vacation? I've been to other UPS stores and when I asked to purchase their tape, I was told that they would tape it for me and made me feel ridiculous for even suggesting such thing. Given my past experience, I did not expect to get such a reaction. Like, no I didn't tape it because 1) I don't own packing tape, probably cause I don't spend my free time taping boxes, 2) I did not have time. I don't need to be talked to in a way like I'm stupid to not have noticed that I did not tape my package. Goodbye, Felicia. read more

Never open on time! I am here 3-4 times a week to drop off amazon packages. Door says opens at 8:30.. the guy strolls in at 8:45 or later, so annoying! Just open at 9am if you can't wake up to be open at 8:30 read more

Excellent service and friendly staff!! They went above and beyond to give me the best quality of service, very hard to find that nowadays.

Spot on with the other reviewers' comments regarding the surly Asian man working the counter. Incredibly rude and unhelpful to a point where I ended up taking my business elsewhere. read more

The Asian male counter person is rude and surly. They charge $6 cash if you deliver a package to a store. They have a $10 minimum to run a charge & the atm across the street charges $3 per transaction. I have diverted deliveries to this store before with no fee since the UPS drivers have been known to deliver to the wrong address in my area. I tried going there twice at 6:45 pm during the week and the place was closed and dark even though the posted closing time is 7 pm. If you post a closing time, it stands to reason that the place should be open if you arrive prior to that time. When I ask him about this, he says that I am lying that I was never charged a fee before and early closing. Why would I make that up you condescending twit? Now they want to hold me up for an additional $6? Here's an idea UPS, build that fee into your shipping charges and get this man out from serving customers as he is damaging your brand reputation. read more

Sadly, I can't post this review without giving it one star but if I had my choice I'd give it five toilets for the crappy service I received... DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT USE THIS STORE!! After reading the reviews, with most of them being negative, I truly wish I had read them PRIOR to coming to THE UPS STORE - #5322 in Maywood, NJ. Hands down, the worst customer service experience I can remember. Just awful.... On Monday, 12/18/2017, I dropped off a package that needed to be in Miami by the end of the day on 12/21/2017. Due to the holiday fast approaching and to guarantee its on time delivery, I was told that I had to use Two-Day Air. which is obviously A LOT more expensive than Ground. With no other options. I ended up agreeing as the importance of the package left me no other viable choices. To make a long story short, the package was never delivered on 12-21-2017 as promised. The next day, I called UPS and inquired about the package and was told that the driver attempted delivery but the customer was not available, to which the recipient (my girlfriend's father) stated the doorbell/buzzer never rung at his apartment at the time the UPS tracking information says. There was also some information in the tracking history that didn't make sense to a couple different representatives. When I asked the UPS representatives about a refund, a partial refund, or some sort of compensation, I was transferred to the billing department. After explaining to them what happened they were ready to refund me or compensate me somehow but when they realized that I did the transaction at a UPS STORE and not at a UPS facility, I was told to contact THE UPS STORE itself to resolve the refund. Of course I am not blaming the delivery issue on THE UPS STORE. That is not their fault. The problem I have is with Carl (Sp?), who I suspect is the owner of this UPS STORE. His lack of understanding about how to resolve issues and how to treat customers is truly pathetic. His arrogance, crustiness, and incivility make me wonder how long it takes before this store closes - or is closed by the corporate offices of THE UPS STORE. **After reading all the bad reviews of the store they all can't be wrong, can they???** Do yourself (and your package) a favor and do not use this UPS Store -#5322 in Maywood, NJ. read more

I rarely write reviews for businesses but this one was definitely earned. I've visited this location several times because of the proximity to my home. I will never visit again. The service is terrible. One person who is often the one working the counter is incredibly rude. He is very condescending and short with customers. I've witnessed it with several customers on different occasions. The other person I've seen working there isn't much better. If you need ups services, please go to the Hackensack location. They located 5-7 mins away right off Rt 17 south. Great customer service. Not like this location. read more

Agree with another reviewer. Where are these negative comments coming from? Good store, good service, reasonable prices. read more

I wish I could give this store negative stars because the Asian man that owns it is negative negative negative in every way! He wanted to charge me $2.50 to print a label and $1.50 to put 1 piece of tape on my box. I was shocked because my normal UPS store is so accommodating so when I said "really?" He looked at me and in a very nasty tone said "REALLY!" I'll never ever go back. I'll drive 30 minutes to another store to avoid this rude miserable man! I reported him to UPS. read more

Rudeeeee! I walked into an empty store with no clerk at the desk. A moment later a man (Oriental) walked from the back of the store. As he walked out, I placed the box I was dropping off on the desk as well as let my toddler sit down for a moment on the counter. The man came out of the back room with an entire mouthful of food and barely mumbled hello. He seriously looked like a chipmunk! How gross. Anyway- he refused to help me on that side of the counter and said I needed to move over to the other side of the counter. Instead of not continuing to be rude, and possibly helping me by taking the box to the other side, he just stood there and chomped away on his food. I couldn't even tell you what he said when he handed me my ticket after the transaction was done. If he's the owner, you need a little more class and respect towards customers, and if this is an employee, maybe he needs a reality check that it's rude to act the way you did! Next time maybe take an extra 30 seconds to finish chewing before you greet a customer with food falling out of your mouth. Also, if you see a customer (male or female) holding a child, help out by taking the box if you refuse to help the customer on the other side of the long desk in the store.... Clearly I won't be returning. I'll take my business some where else. After reading other reviews of this man, how does he still have a job?! If he's the owner- I don't know how you are still in business!!!!! read more

Today I walked in to return a Zappo package. My printed receipt would not scan. He said it would cost $3.00 for him to print it and I had to email it to him. He proceeded to hand me a paper with his email address and walked away. There were no other customers in the store. Being older and not that tech savvy, I could have used some help. He was so rude I left and went to another store. This store had a line of customers, yet the young man there, took my phone, sent the email and charged 13 cents for the copy. Reading the other reviews, I see I'm not the only one to feel this way. read more

Can somebody please explain why this store is even in business? The elderly rude, useless man behind the counter needs take a hint and either quit or hire someone capable of doing this simple job. How are you going to charge someone $10 for a piece of tape and then state its company policy. Does this man think everyone else that walks in here is as incompetent as he is?!?? ...(asking for a friend)...do yourself a huge favor and DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME HERE...the guy is a total dumbASS! read more

I visited this store to return an Amizon package and was apprehensive after reading some very unflattering reviews here. I had a pleasant, professional, and efficient experience with the very man being slammed. I recommend this store without hesitation. read more

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER and that too from the owner !! If I could, I would give them ZERO stars !!! Firstly, I should point out that very rarely an employee (a young boy) will be servicing customers but most often he is not around or in the backroom and he is nice enough, but the owner is simply AWFUL and VERY RUDE with zero customer service skills. I often go in there to drop off UPS Packages, the owner will not greet, look or make eye contact but will just point to the weighing scale and mumble something like " place it there" - that is if I haven't already placed the package on the scale. Then will hand me the receipt while looking somewhere else. I often thought he was racist as I am Indian (he is of asian descent so go figure !!) but then one day I see him speaking so courteously, chatting, laughing away (almost flirting) with a young african american woman. So I guess I should rule racism out !!! Ah, but note she was mailing out a package for about $200+ I guess money does TALK !!! As I stated early I often go only to drop off return packages - so may be his attitude has to do with the fact that I am just dropping off and hes not getting any money from me. I usually go in with my young children and every time they get a lesson in RUDENESS 101 !! Unfortunately it is the only UPS store close to my house so I frequent it for the convenience of dropping off only. If I ever have to mail a package I make the effort to drive all the way to the Oradell UPS store and give them my business, Also the prices at this store are higher than the Oradell store and I would assume that they should be standardized charges. So another reason not to use their services, read more

This is a copy of an email to UPS Store Corporate about the Maywood UPS Store. Last week I had a package "UPS'd" from a merchant in San Francisco to my local UPS Store in Maywood, New Jersey, since my UPS man will not leave ANYTHING in my safe condo building. Even with MyChoice online signing, he still leaves door tags. I had the package go to the UPS Store for my conveinience. When the Store called me this morning that my package arrived I was told there would be a $5.00 Storage Fee. WHAT??!?! This is a blatant ripoff. When I asked when the package was delivered he said an hour ago. I told him he's out of his mind to ask for a Storage Fee as the package was sitting on the floor behind his counter with ONLY ONE OTHER PACKAGE. He basicly told me to take it or leave it. Now, there is nothing on the either the UPS Store or UPS website indicating any "fees" and I feel the whole thing is wrong. I will not do business with any UPS Store in the future if this is how franchisees conduct business. read more

few things: 1- The hours are unreliable. Often not open when advertised they would be. 2- Service is generally unpleasant. Manager seems truly annoyed at every costumer that walks in. 3- Packages never sent! This location is very close to my home. The first time I sent a package with them and it was never received I thought it may have been an error in transit/shipping. Then it happened a second time and now I'm concerned the store never actually sent it. After reading a few other reviews that this has happened to others using this location I'm not sure how/why they are still operating. I switched to the UPS store in Hackensack. Not too far and very reliable and more pleasant service. No lost packaged or undelivered items since I stopped using this location. read more

Do not use this store! Do not give them any money! Worst UPS store I have ever been into. Employee or owner is extremely rude. I need one small piece of tape would not let me have one. Was happy to buy tape but requires $10 min on credit card and I had no cash. I've shipped from many UPS stores I was in this area so came by it. Can't believe the guy would not help me. First one that had such a high credit card min - feel like he's trying to rip me off and then no help. Sad thing is I have used ups so many times for shipping around the world and US. Never again. Would rather pay extra at FedEx for better service. Hugely disappointed. read more

The UPS Store - Shipping Centers Near Me - Maywood, New Jersey

This store charges $6 cash to pick up a UPS package sent to the store. This makes zero sense as I've never encountered this scheme with any other company. Their business hours don't even match the UPS delivery times so beware if you're going to have something delivered before 8 am. read more

The owner is consistently rude and miserable, but today took it too far. I was verbally assaulted by him. RUDE is an understatement. I walked inside to an empty store, after waiting for a few minutes I figured they didn't know I was there, I very politely asked "good morning, anyone here?"... WELL, he went off on me! Telling me I'm a stupid and foolish and . I tried to apologize, saying I wasn't sure if he knew I was there and how I live in town and support local businesses. He screamed like a lunatic at me for minutes straight, while calling me all kinds of names, then to tell me it's a privilege to be able to go to his store and not my right and then refused to take my packages. I was beyond polite, kind and patient. This owner brought me to tears with zero remorse and verbally assaulted me for absolutely no reason. I am APPALLED that UPS allows this man to represent their company. It was so bad that my husband went back later in the day to let him know it was not ok to disrespect his wife. this man should NOT own a business that interacts with people!!! NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO HERE! read more

This is my post to the Maywood Chamber of Commerce. I am curious to know if anyone else has experienced similar. I want to register a complaint with reference to the UPS store and was wondering if anyone else made similar complaints. The owner is nasty, insulting, rude and misogynistic. I don't write these things easily. Forget about him having common courtesy to say hello or good morning, please or thank you, even after I say to him. I say thank you he doesn't even acknowledge. There have been ongoing instances of his rudeness but today I would have no more of it. I said good morning. He said nothing. I brought my 2 very small preposted return packages and put one on the scale. He scanned and pointed his finger motioning for me to put the other in the scale.(it was 2" next to the other one. he is too lazy or rude or the like). He handed my receipt and started to walk away. I said a loud and clear THANK YOU. Well he went into a screaming rage saying that it's not my "right" to come into this store. It is a Privilege!!! He said "you have been coming here for yeArs. You know how it works". He said there are other stores and I have choices. I said "yes can you tell me where the nearest one is". He yelled "you have a cell phone go look it up. I am not Going to assist in your DEMENTIA"! I said I would post this in social media and he yelled do what you want. My question to you - Do we really need to be subjected to this in our quiet Maywood respectable community? It is unfathomable that Maywood Chamber would be supportive of such misogynistic behavior. This is not the first time he has been rude and discourteous and in the past won't even open the door if he sees you struggling with several packages etc. I guess this is what this world has become but there are many of us who still have respect and raise our children to do the same. Thank you read more

Short story: Rude, unprofessional, nasty, rip off. Long story: I was using the print in store option to return 2 packages to Amazon and didn't tape the boxes because I was unsure if a slip needed to be placed in the boxes later. I chose this location because I was in the area for a doctors appt. BIG MISTAKE. The man there who gave his name as Carl was rude from the start. I put my packages down at the one side of the counter because no one was visible in the store at all. He came out and stood at the other side. Didn't say anything just stood there staring. I picked up my boxes and as I walked over I'm trying to ask a question he cuts me off 2 words in and says "I'm not taking it until it's taped". I told him that's fine but it's my first time printing in store and didn't know if a slip needed to go in the box, which he would have known had he bothered to listen to the customer. I ask if I can buy tape he tells me it's over on the wall or he can do it for 1.50 a box. I said ok tape it up and he asks for the QR code to print the labels. So he's printing the labels I'm holding my debit card to pay and he finally looks up telling me it's "3.21 but I'm not putting anything less than ten dollars on the card". Didn't see any signs or anything but ok I tell him I don't have cash on me and before I can say I'll go to my car and grab some he starts whining. "See this is why I don't want to print it now I can't even cancel blah blah blah." I cut him off and tell him to give me a minute. I mean theres a bank across the street with an atm my gosh it wasn't that big a deal. I come back with the money give it to him and get out. I'm so annoyed with how rude that guy was. Honestly it irks me. Would it kill you to be polite? read more
