Excellent house salad. We ordered a medium pizza. It seemed a little small for a medium. Pizza flavor was good.

This is not place for good food. The eggplant was like shoe leather. The low country pasta was out of a jar. The food came out cold. When I asked to see the manager he was "to busy" to see want we needed him for. The wait staff took our food and put it in a microwave. It came back like rubber. Still the manager would not come to see us. This is the last place I would go to. read more

I'll start by saying the food is very good here, but I highly recommend you either go there to eat or you pick it up yourself. I've order delivery twice and both times it took 90+ minutes to get to me. Last time I ordered pasta and it must have been knocked over on the ride or something because it was pushed to the side of the container and sauce was leaking through the paper bag. Have tried The Upper Crust four times now, the most recent being last night. The service has been good each time, friendly staff that is attentive. The menu is varied and reasonably priced. The portions are generous, usually enough to take some home. The salads have been fresh and crisp with a variety of dressings from which to choose. Last night we chose calamari for an appetizer. It was flashed fried yet not greasy at all. It also included some red peppers and jalapeño peppers, which I had never tried together. It was delicious. For our main course we chose a Frogmore pizza that is a play on a low country favorite, Frogmore stew. It was very light and all the flavor of the shrimp, sausage, and onion came through nicely. I was especially delighted to find it was not overseasoned with salt. I enjoyed the leftovers cold the next day. Definitely recommend both the restaurant and the pizza. read more

While the staff is friendly and the food is good, the portions suck. I ordered a appetizer of onion rings for around $5. i got 6 onion rings, YES Only 6! we joked around with the super friendly waitress and she apologized but then said i can put in another order for you. lol no thanks. our pizza tasted good, asked for pepperoni, sausage and pineapple and got about 8 pineapple chunks lol !!!! we will be back as the food does taste good but will maybe go in for a basic pizza. read more

Upper Crust is a small franchise (3-4 restraurants). There is one in Bluffton near Hilton Head and another in Beaufort and another near Savannah. The Bluffton Upper Crust is family owned and operated. It is one of our favorite restaurants, not only because it is the best pizza we have had in the area (we are from Chicago), but because of the warm, friendly, family atmosphere. This is not the mass produced style of pizza you get at the large franchises, thus you will not get it for $5.99. We enjoy the thin crispy crust most, as it is the closest to Chicago style pizza we grew up ordering from the neighborhood pizza joints. The Upper crust also offers several sandwiches and wraps whicha are very good in addition to their entrees. They also offer lunch sized portions at a reduced price, all day. read more

Was recommended by locals, and ordered a pizza and salad to take out. Maybe our expectations were too high, but our experience was underwhelming. First of all, when we returned to our B&B and opened the box, we found that the pizza hadn't been cut. Ever try to cut a pizza with a plastic knife while laying on a hotel bed? The pizza was very salty for some reason as well, although none of the toppings were particularly salty themselves. The large salad was fresh and nice size. Ordered a pizza and fries over an hour ago and was told it would arrive in 25 minutes. At the one hour mark I called and was put on hold for 10 minutes then another girl asked for my order. After explaining my predicament the original employee told me the driver had just left but forgot my fries. I am literally across the street but can't leave because I am at work. It has been another 18 minutes and my food still has not arrived. I will not be ordering from this place again. read more

The food here was absolutely awful! They don't have any warning that mushroom is all through their sauce like most restaurants do. It was very disappointing because of the amount of mushroom and how it made the entire dish pretty disgusting. Two of the other guests that were with us actually proceeded to the bathroom before throwing up. The manager was very rude when we brought it to her attention and she argued with us in front of other customers. The manager argued for a good five minutes before she walked away and left mid sentence. She proceeded to talk about us to other guests about us being rude for complaining about the food. When you work in the service industry you do not talk to or treat customers how this manager did. After we left, as we were in the parking lot, you could see the manager through the windows pointing towards us outside and towards the table we sat at talking about us to other guests. I'm very offended and hope this review will help other guests know what to expect before they arrive. I would never come back and would not recommend this to any of my friends. This was the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant and it does not live up to even the smallest standards for a restaurant. read more

New to the area but been all over the coast. I gave this place a try. The Greek Salad is horrible, not fresh and smells like rotten cheese. The pizza I ordered reminded me of cafeteria grade school pizza. The wings were great but overall bad order. From now on I will order from piace pizza instead. This review reflects take out order and the items I mentioned above. Also this store will not refund but give store credit. Problem is I don't plan to come back. read more

My one and only experience at this place was of first puking in the men's room after eating a not so good meat and mushroom sauce. By the way I hate mushrooms and this is the only place i ever ate that did not inform you of mushrooms..... Then was less than impressed by the waitress and management when I complained about my meal and instead of them offering to comp some portion of my meal they thought it would be better to explain to me how it was my fault for not asking what all was in the sauce. Perhaps they were right but where I am from they always disclose mushrooms in anything simply because there is so many that don't like them. I hope no one gets in trouble from this review but I do hope they learn to be more informative about there menu items. read more

We had ordered pizza one or twice and were unimpressed, however my mother had gotten a veggie wrap at work which she highly praised so we paid a visit to the restaurant itself. We waited about 40 minutes for our food and the wrap was not very high on taste. The server was friendly but was slow to check in despite the fact that they weren't very busy. Pizza not that good. Visiting on vacation and this was recommended by a local. The crust was tough and tasted like it was out of a package instead of home made dough. The cheese on top was tough. For a small, somewhat sleepy, coastal Low Country town, Upper Crust has to be the best. Our order was taken over the phone (6 large pizzas, a number of salads) and was just about ready when we arrived 20 minutes or so later to pick it up. Even at 5:00PM the relatively small establishment was full of customers. Once we got the pizzas back to the house we had rented for our reunion, the group raved over how good they were! Ingredients were fresh, they had plenty of cheese and sauce and those pizzas disappeared relatively quickly. The only drawback to Upper Crust is they have a VERY limited delivery area, covering only St. Helena Island even though we were just a few miles away in Beaufort. Everyone was extremely courteous and helpful, beginning with the person who took the order and ending with the person who brought our many boxes of pizza out. I would recommend this pizzeria to anyone who is looking for great pizza in the Beaufort area. read more

I've been here a couple times and I've had the ravioli, the pizza, and I've tried the spaghetti. Very good food, Decently priced, service has always been really good every time I've been. It's close by and I prefer this place over dominos and Pizza Hut. All around good place to eat. read more
