My daughter started with beetroot samosas and they were gorgeous. For my main, went with the duck and it was also exquisite. We also shared green beans and zucchini (courgettes) and they were great. Fresh from the chef's garden and tasted that way. I normally pass on dessert but had to try it. I had strawberries with pistachio sponge, while I would have like more pistachio flavor it was also quite enjoyable. Service was efficient and I liked the pace of the meal. Pretty quick between courses (what I'm used to as an American), with the nice touch of asking whether we wanted the next course yet. They do not put on airs like many starred establishments, a family in shorts was welcomed, and the food is as good as you can get.

We were definitely under dressed but were welcomed anyhow. We recommend this restaurant without hesitation.

Quirky decor with a vintage nautical theme; boats on the ceiling and vintage lamps. Friendly and charming staff with efficient service. A good menu, affordably priced with a dangerously tempting array of cakes on display. Try the Lumberjack cake, an interesting combination of ingredients that taste absolutely delicous. One warning, however. We were lucky to be there on a quiet day but at the height of the season this place will be busy.

Waitress service and an excellent menu combine to make the Station Restaurant a very pleasant dining experience. I chose fish pie from the specials board which came served with chips and salad, my husband chose cheeseburger and chips as did my son. All three meals were outstanding, tasty and generous on the plate. Meals are typically priced for the area, between six and nine pounds for a main course and there is a choice of indoor or outdoor dining areas. The station Restaurant also boasts an outdoor kiosk which serves traditional ice creams, drinks and takeaway hot snacks. Overall I can recomment this restaurant for its reasonable prices, excellent customer service and great menu options ranging from sandwiches to fish and chips to sunday roasts.

Its easy to park though normally so its not an issue. Food is simply excellant. As someone else stated about sauces - the sauces are on the end of the carvery area. The Carvery enables you to choose one,two or three meats and obviously as many vegetables as you want or can fit on your plate in my case. Puddings are equally good, although we are normally so full up from the carvery we dont often have pudding! Overall, I would recommend this pub to anyone that was passing by. In the summer you can sit outside, which offers good views out over the hills and sea.
