I've just started working with Johnny today. We moved into our older, remodeled home about a year ago and have been chipping away at our internet issues. I left him a message and he got back to me very quickly and discussed our current issues and objectives. He recommended starting with a new router to go with our mesh system, and some other troubleshooting steps, as well. I'm sure this is just the beginning as we have many opportunities to make our home smarter and simpler to use. Even though I didn't put any money in his hands today, he could not have been more helpful or friendlier or more willing to help.

See the link below for what Lelch feels is $1,000 worth of work…read more My basement already has Cat-5 wired throughout it and I wanted it to be connected to the internet. The rep showed up and looked at the jacks in the walls, saw them going into the utility room (into an outdated cat-5 switch) and determined that another rep should come out to "set it all up". I then get an email with a bid of $675 and although I felt that was high, I told them to go ahead. Another rep came out, cut off the ends of the already wired cat-5 cords, put ends on them, put them into a switch, and placed them in what I was told as a "compact" box that would make it look nice. They then tested the connections and were on their way. The next day I get a bill for $980 and come to find out every visit, regardless of work, starts at $150 and for that first "consolation" (which was the tech and I speaking for 45 minutes and the rep offering to put two covers on two outlets) costed me $335. Well that was news to me and I was not once told anything about that. The actual box that is supposed to make this whole project, "look nice" is huge, unnecessary, and actually makes it look worse. Then the rep just puts the modem on top, leaves all the old stuff still on the wall, and was done. If you feel that the value added work of testing the cat-5 connections already in the house, cutting the ends off of the preinstalled cat-5 cords, putting ends on them, plugging them into a switch, and then placing the switch into a huge unnecessary box is worth $1,000 to you, then you will get what you paid for. I also…read morehad a TV I needed put up in my bedroom, plus wanted to purchase another one for my living room. After googling places around me I called this company to help me out. First was the network setup. Brandon, one of the co-owners, came over and set it up quickly and told me what to do if I ever unplug the system to start it up again. Then he mounted my smaller tv in my bedroom above my closet and created spots in the wall to hide the wires and tied them down do I can't see them at all. For the living room he recommended Sony as the only tv I should ever go with so I got one through him and he mounted that as well, also keeping the wiring very neat and descrete. I was honestly impressed by the speed and precision of knowing where was best to mount it based on my couch and what would look best at that eye level. I would definitely recommend Northstar with any technology or network set ups.
