First time here. Had a birthday dinner. Our server Sarah was very friendly and nice. We had drinks which were very good. I ordered the Filet wit a baked potato and salad. The salad was very good crisp and fresh. The filet was cooked as ordered and tasty. The baked potato was a bit hard and not real hot. My wife ordered the King Crab legs. Jalapeño grits and salad. She thought the grits were very good as was the salad. The problem was they have no utensils to cut or get the meat out of the crab legs. We asked the server said they keep disappearing. It's was a job trying to cut open those spiney legs with a steak knife and fork. Taste was good but not worth the effort. Also the melted butter was served in a little cream container. After a failed attempt at another establishment for our anniversary, The Trophy Room swept us off our feet. To start, our server Sara was incredible. She had the best recommendations and was very attentive. My husband and I shared the spinach artichoke dip, I had a Caesar salad, his entree was the Parmesan crusted group with jalepeno grits and mushrooms. I had the blackened chicken cavatappi with a side of mushrooms. We both had Moscow mules as well. I mean it when I say EVERYTHING was a 10/10. Absolutely incredible food. Had 6:30 reservations for 3pp on a Monday night, we were not greeted until 7:25, a full 55 min later. After I requested assistance 2x. We went to the inside bar for all of our drinks, 2 rounds in the hour we waited. Trying very hard to be patient. We didn't get food served until after 8:15pm. The 2-topping pizza my daughter ordered was 50% wrong, with only 1 topping. The steak dish had cold mashed potatoes. I ate one crab cake and stopped because it was so uninspired. And frankly I was sick of waiting. They did take 10% off the bill without any prompting, and while I appreciated the gesture, I don't think that made it right. The meals are pricey and the expectations are higher given that! I bit my tongue and didn't want to cause a fuss because we were celebrating a birthday. But the overall total lack of service ruined the evening. I come here several times a year and know to make a reservation, but that didn't help us at all. Had 10 people on Thanksgiving weekend. Server was great! Atmosphere was disappointing - no Christmas decorations, no Christmas music. Food was horrible! Only good thing out of ten orders was the hamburger. Sent the meatball back because it was so hard you could play baseball with it. COD special was bland. Stroganoff beef was so overcooked it chewed like leather. So much was bad we were to embarrassed to send it all back. In the end, we spent over $450 and went home hungry. Great ambience and decor but it kinda ends there. This is not a fine dining establishment; more of an upper scale American food place that's good for after playing golf. The New Year's eve menu looked good but the food came out cold and unappetizing. The beef medallions were gray and not cooked with high heat, the lobster tail was chewy, and the mashed potatoes and asparagus were clearly under the heat lamp too long. The bread basket, after I had asked for one, arrived after the lukewarm lobster bisque (without the lobster) and salad were consumed. Everything was so slow to come out -- drinks...dinner...dessert. With a 730pm seating, and only four tables occupied in the main dining room at the time, you'd expect they wouldn't run out of things, but they did. Very sweet server, but not really on top of her game. One server and a food runner were wearing winter coats like they were heading out (what manager would allow that?). Strange and unwelcoming. The runner also didn't know which entrees belonged to which seat; amateur operation for a dining experience north of $200. Was expecting a great experience but really fell short. The hostesses wouldn't greet us as we walked in. We had to ask them where the bar was. We sat in the bar waiting for service for 30 minutes. Multiple servers walked by, including 2 managers, and no one came over to take our drink order. We watched multiple servers stand at the computer that led to the dining room facing us and never came to our table. We had a great happy hour at the trophy room during our stay in Camdenton. Fair warning, staff does not wear masks. We got there right at 4 and sat at the bar. The bartender was very friendly. Our drinks were good- the queen of hearts martini and the whiskey mule. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip, which was huge! The bread it came with was really good. We also ordered the shrimp and grits to go. It was good, but very oily. I would definitely go back next time we're in town! read more

We really enjoy The Trophy Room when staying at Old Kinderhook. We dined here on Labor Day night. It was actually pretty busy. We had a 7:30pm reservation. We were asked if we wanted to sit in the dining room Or outside on the patio. We chose outside. Our table didn't have a light above it and we later just moved to a table with a light over our table. The view is great of the golf course. Our waitress Christine was attentive but really busy. No staff wears a face mask at the restaurant. She said they were short staffed. I think this is a common theme among many restaurants in the ozarks between busy seasons and down times. My wife and I both ordered drinks. She had a strawberry margarita and I had an adult root beer. She enjoyed her drink but I wasn't very fond of my drink. The drink tasted like really flat dull root beer with a hint of alcohol. The waitress said the manager was making drinks and wasn't sure how to really make them. She did offer a refund if we didn't like the drinks. We decided to go ahead and pay for them. We both ordered bacon burgers medium well with fries. She had pepper jack cheese on her burger and I had no cheese. We also got a side of green beans. It took a good 40 minutes to receive our food. The burgers were great ! The burgers are huge. The buns here are phenomenal (sweet with great texture). We love the candied bacon on the burgers. Fries are fresh cut and delicious. The green beans were also really good and well prepared! The burgers here are a real treat and a great value for your buck! We really like dining here and love the burgers and fries! read more

Disappointing. Unlike most restaurants I could not get regular mushrooms for a salad, pizza or baked potato. They have mushrooms they serve in a sauce but refuse to serve without this sauce. They did tell me they do purchase mushrooms but prepare all with this special sauce. I am vegetarian & because of certain medical conditions must be careful what I eat so often have to ask for things off the regular menu. I am able to get regular sautéed, or raw, mushrooms in every restaurant at the lake I have gone to from J. B. Hooks to small mom and pop restaurants. These restaurants, with the exception of The Trophy Room catered to the needs of me, their customers. read more

Don't know why the reviews for this place aren't better! Hubby ordered the prime rib special & I had blackened salmon. His prime rib was cooked perfectly & the horseradish sauce and au jus were delicious. My salmon was the best I've had in a very long time. I ordered it medium (as it should be) and it was PERFECT- seared on the outside and moist & flake on the inside. Absolutely delicious! Cocktails were also good! read more

We were staying at the resort and decided to give their restaurant a try. They had craft cocktails reasonably priced, however decided to go with a $20 bottle of wine. Our server, Matt, was super friendly and attentive. I had the special sea bass, which was cooked to perfection! My husband had filet and jalapeño cheddar grits. Neither of us left a bite of food on our plate. To top it off, we had the most amazing Chimy Changa cheesecake dessert. They use local ingredients, so you know it's fresh. Dinner at The Trophy Room was a great way to wrap a wonderful weekend with old friends at the Lake of the Ozarks. We were there on Sunday, July 11. The crab bisque was good (good, not great - a bit oversalted for my taste, and not much actual crab meat in the bisque, but decent flavor). The house salad dressing is fantastic - try it! My filet was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Unfortunately what we learned is that by Sunday evening, this restaurant is "out" of a lot of things on the menu. Ordering a bottle of wine for the table turned into a guessing game where we finally gave up and said, "why don't you just tell us what you DO have, and we'll go from there?". Ordering a dirty martini was a challenge - no olives, but supposedly they DID have "olive juice" on hand. In my humble experience, the reason you want those olives and the olive juice in your "dirty" martini is to make it "dirty" as in cloudy. Let's just say the bartender must have had the clearest, most tasteless olive juice that has ever graced a martini. For a plain old vodka martini it wasn't bad, but I'm pretty sure there was no "olive juice" behind the bar. Just tell me that - more importantly, tell your wait staff that so they can be accurate in what they're telling customers. The great "olive juice debate" aside, the food was good, the service terrific and the desserts very tasty as well (the brownie ala mode is epic). Enjoy! read more

6 of us were there for an anniversary dinner. 2 people had the strip steaks. Extremely tough and stringy. Worst steak they ever had. 2 people had smothered chicken which they said was good. I had the pork ragu pasta which looked horrible and tasted even worse. I did not eat any of it. They should have caught on when I said I didn't want a Togo box but the waiter obviously could have cared less. We won't be going back read more

My partner and I had planned to have dinner here tonight, but had to cancel our reservations due to the fact the restuarant is not practicing social distancing and their staff are not required to wear face masks. I was told "On June 16th the State lifted all restrictions". Well, while that is true the State did remove all restrictions that doesn't mean you as a restaurant have to abide. I guess the all mighty dollar is more important than the health of your clients. We were looking forward to dinner and most likely would have spent close to $150.00 for dinner and drinks if you were social distancing. read more

I think this place is one of the best kept secrets at the lake. The south siders know a good bar and good food and the Trophy Room has both. The views from the patio are beautiful. The food is always delicious and innovative. The scallops are amazing in season and their prime rib special is worth the two hour drive alone. Was a guest for a wedding reception. Once we had our salads it took almost 2 hours for everyone to get their food. There was about 25 of us. Everyone at our table of 12 that ordered steaks and pork chop ordered them well done. Most of the steaks and pork was rare. When we complained the waiter told us the chef likes the steaks medium rare. It was a terrible experience when it came to the food. For larger parties, beware. The Trophy Room is one of those restaurants you really want to be five stars, but unfortunately it just isn't. My family vacations at the Old Kinderhook Lodge and Resort 3-4 times per year and we always splurge for a big dinner at The Trophy Room during our visits. I will say that I have had some amazing meals there that are well worthy of five stars, but I've also had meals and experiences worthy of one star. In a nutshell, The Trophy Room is very inconsistent. The calamari has always been good in all my visits there and I highly recommend it. As far as main courses go, I have had a variety of their steaks and when their fillets are good, they are very good. Unfortunately I have experienced more often than not, having to send a steak back because it was overdone or in some cases my food came out cold. My favorite side at the Trophy Room is without a doubt the jalapeño grits. The deserts are OK at best. Service always seems to be a challenge. Sometimes they are very busy and getting good service is understandably a challenge, but other times, the restaurant is not busy at all and the service has still been way below par. I'm not sure if the issues are staffing or poor logistics and operations management, but it's very unfortunate because The Trophy Room has the opportunity to be a five star establishment. I will continue to dine there when we visit, but I do hope the consistency and quality issues will be addressed because the Kinderhook Lodge is a beautiful place and fun destination for families, couples, and business. read more

Nice weekend getaway with the hubby and this was the restaurant available on the property. To be honest, we went in with low expectations because there weren't any other nice dining options nearby, and we assumed they could serve whatever and people would come. We were pleasantly surprised! We dined two nights and the staff was great both times. We were blown away by the seafood items we ordered, especially given we're in the middle of Missouri. We ordered the crabcakes for an appetizer one night. The calamari the other night. Both were fantastic. We shared shrimp and grits which were very rich but delicious. The winner was the scallops entree with the mashed potatoes. Out. of. this. world. There are also charming firepits on the deck that look over the golf course. Very nice. I'm giving it 4 stars only because not all of the food blew us away. The prime rib was on special the second night, and it was just okay. A little bland and A LOT of it portion-wise. The loaded baked potato and dinner rolls were also pretty generic and not a lot of flavor. Other than, that, great food and really nice people. We'll be back next time we stay at Old Kinderhook! read more

Spent three days staying at old Kinderhook for a wedding. We had appetizers after the rehearsal dinner and decided to order meals. The meals came an hour after we placed the orders.
