To be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect, but.......we loved it! It is so quirky and a comprehensive tribute to all sorts of trolls and to pop culture. Roy guided us through and he was awesome. Our tour was not rushed and he spent lots of time answering questions as we walked through. This visit came at a perfect time, because I had recently been in Iceland and had my photo taken with a giant troll at the airport, which I showed Roy. I had been wanting to bring my child here for quite some time, and today was finally the day we made it. At four years old, he was just as in awe as I was at some of the displays. There are FOURTEEN rooms housing this Guinness-record holding collection. Roy explained to us how tedious and time-consuming it is to submit evidence to be eligible for Guinness records. This is one of those places where you could come back several more times and still not quite see everything you wanted to see. So many nooks and crannies and hidden gems to feast your eyes on. My favorites are definitely the Norwegian trolls. Some of the scenes in that section of the museum vaguely reminded me of the Maelstrom (if you ever had visited Epcot years ago, you know what I'm talking about!) I did not get to meet Sherry, but we met her sweet gentle senior citizen dog. My son wanted to pet her and Roy told him it was okay. She probably didn't want to be bothered, but was kind enough to let a little boy give her a friendly pet. We also learned that Sherry owns the cat cafe right behind the troll museum. My son wanted to go there too, but we promised we would come back another day because we were really starving by the time we were done and had not yet had lunch. Also: the place right across the street looked a really cool place to dine, but it didn't open for another hour. We left with several magnets and some great photos. I first visited the Troll Hole when I was younger, and coming back now at 21 felt just as magical, if not more. It's one of those rare places that doesn't lose its wonder as you grow up -- it actually deepens. Every corner is packed with creativity, nostalgia, and detail, and you can tell it was built with real love and imagination. There is so much to take in that it can honestly feel overwhelming in the best way. My advice: bring something special with you -- a Monster High doll, an American Girl doll, an action figure, a pull-up doll, or anything you personally love. Having something familiar with you helps ground you while you're surrounded by all the beauty and fantasy. It makes the experience even more personal and memorable. The Troll Hole isn't just a museum -- it's a feeling. Whether you're a kid, a collector, or an adult reconnecting with your inner child, it's absolutely worth the visit. Had an amazing tour. Lots of trolls (14 rooms full) to look through. It is a guided tour which was nice to ask questions. The two gentlemen working were nice and very helpful. There is also a cafe there but we didn't get any thing. The kids we took also enjoyed all the trolls. read more

Had a wonderful visit! The experience was a real deep dive into pop culture, Scandinavian lore, and really creative displays and room design. Our tour guide had a passion about this museum that was simply infectious-- we had a lot of fun testing her knowledge asking questions (there was no stumping her!) and walked out knowing so much more than when we walked in. We stopped in the gift store to check it out first before deciding on the troll museum. After looking around at all the trinkets,etc I ordered a coffee. It was French press with steamed milk. I admit I am a very picky coffee drinker with an affinity for dark roast, so what I got was not satisfying to me. It tasted watery. When I asked for half n half I was told they didn't have any. Very disappointing! After this, we decided not to spend $10 each to see Bunch of trolls. I'm sure it was great, but not my thing! I wouldn't go there just for the coffee. FYI. This was fun. The store is full of trinkets and goodies to entice you to buy them. There is a very teeny tiny coffee area in the back of the store. The museum tour itself is $10 per adult. It's much bigger than we expected. The woman giving the tour was very nice. She wore a pouch purse with a dog in it, who was very quiet throughout the entire tour. It is not possible to walk through the museum without the tour guide. The kids loved it and that's what counts. read more

Welcome to a magical land of trolls. This MUST SEE in Akron is legitimately in the Guinness Book of World Records, if that doesn't give it street creed then what does! When you first step into the shop, it feels like a country store and you wonder to yourself or your spouse "this is the Toll Hole???" but then you buy a tour ticket and wait patiently for the tour to start. Our guide took us through room after room after room, and then outside to a grotto guarded by trolls! I can never do it justice by describing the rooms of trolls, dressed as Kiss, or in wedding attire, or just plain naked trolls. You must go see this place for yourself, a true hidden gem for those who like trolls, or the unique, or you are traveling Ohio for the world's largest gavel, basket, cuckoo clock, outdoor chandelier, and troll collection! Another plus about this location is that literally right next door is the Feline Historical Museum. We did NOT visit this museum, because the hours are ridiculously short for a Saturday, closing at noon! read more

My friend suggested we go to this museum after we found it on Air Bnb. I have never been so excited. If you are a fan of trolls, folk lore, or just a lover of niche hobbies-- you have to come here. The gift shop is incredible you could spend an entire day just looking around. We got coffee and a DELICIOUS waffle. Nina (not sure about spelling) gave us a tour through all the rooms and we just had a blast the entire time. This museum wildly exceeded my highest expectations. Ok, from the outside, this place looks strange and curious. But when you step inside, it all makes sense. It's a gift shop with lots of brightly colored lawn ornaments, figurines, thing-a-majigs, doodads, and whatchamacallits. And yes, there are trolls. Remember those ugly little naked guys with the belly jewels and crazy bright hair us 90s kids used to go crazy for? Well, they have a ton of them. So if you're in the market, you'll love this place. They also have some natural beauty products, soy candles, and art. In the back of the store, they have a little coffee shop set up where you can get a hot or iced coffee to enjoy while you shop. The staff were friendly and maybe a little too "over-the-shoulder" while we were shopping. While we appreciate the prescence, a little goes a long way. When we arrived to the facility we had no clue what we were in for. Talk about a random collection of art! In addition to random nick nacks, there is a coffee shop inside! We waited a few minutes before our tour. Sherry (the owner of the collection) gave us our tour. It was cool to hear the history of her collection and other facts about trolls! There is so much to look at. If you go in winter months, you can take a little extra time to look around. I think our tour was a little over an hour. She was very knowledgeable and seemed very passionate about her collection! She also allows pictures, which is pretty cool! Definitely go if you have the time!
