Omg, huge shout out to the Town Movers for helping us with such a short notice. I called Jalen maybe 2.5 hours before arriving to our new location where we needed help unloading & moving our stuff from a 15ft long Uhaul & up 4 floors (all stairs). Not only did Jalen & his co-worker (im so sorry for forgetting your name) arrived on time, they also successfully lifted our items & left no damage. We couldn't have done this without y'all! Will definitely call y'all again & refer y'all to more folks ((: P.S. to the folks out there -- support this Black-owned business ran by some of the most awesome, driven men ever! 10000000+/10 highly recommend! read more

Young Black men, doing their best to work and earn honest living. I had an absolute experience with them, the cost was below what I expected and they helped more than I expected as well. I encourage you to work with Jalen and his team, be transparent with them and you will get same positive experience. read more

Quick and efficient and got the last minute job done for me. I had some backyard furniture I purchased from a friend that live a few miles a way and need help transporting it. I called the Town Movers after receiving a recommendation from my friend who's used them in the past. They didn't disappoint! Prices were fare and they made sure I was pleased before they left. I'll be sure to refer them to others and use them again in the future. read more

Jalen was responsive, prompt, proactive and careful moving our stuff. Overall a great value.

I needed some garbage taken to the landfill and the Town Movers did a great job helping me out. Everything was done efficiently and even though my lot of trash that needed to be moved was bigger than the estimate was, they were willing to stick to the estimate. I ended up hiring them again. read more

Great efficient movers! I hired Jalen and his employee to help unload my uhaul into my new apartment. I had some timing issues but they were both patient and adjusted with me. They also helped assemble my bed for an extra reasonable fee. Their price was also super reasonable compared to others. I booked after requesting quotes from many companies through Yelp. read more

Worst movers I've ever hired. They quoted $125/hr plus $25 gas. Then charged, $125/hr plus $300 labor. And $50 gas. Claiming they charge extra for washers and dryers and refrigerators. My original message mentioned refrigerator and nothing was mentioned about extra charges. They have no idea how to load a truck. Kept making mistakes in what they were told and how they did things. There were several times they could have mentioned extra charges or asked if I had any of those items. Was incredibly rude about the whole transaction. I've hired at least a dozen movers over the years and never had one add all those charges and never mention it or ask about those things. After being told I'd hire a lawyer, there was no response. read more

Jalen is so kind and extremely efficient. He fairly negotiated pricing with me and he was very honest and understanding. On the day of the move, he was up front that he would be a little late to get gas. I absolutely loved the open communication from him. He was quick on his feet and extremely sharp. I will definitely contact him again in the future. He is exceptional at what he does. I highly recommend contacting him and Town Movers for any and all of your moving needs. Thank you so much, Jalen! Appreciate you! read more

Do not underestimate Jalen and his team. A few words about Jalen as a mover: Careful. Considerate. Responsive. Prompt. Prepared. Thoughtful. What else do you want in a mover? Granted, we had a small job but from what I saw a big move would be handled with care. And Jalen was reasonable too. He provided fair, upfront pricing and kept to the plan as far as the estimate was concerned. No surprises other than how strange he was. Hence my don't underestimate advice. Great experience. read more

They communicated clearly, arrived and quickly got all our items unloaded from the moving truck. No issues at all, would happily work with them again. read more

I'm lowering my original review bc Jay's dishonesty. I paid him immediately after he completed his work, as shoddy as it was. I take issue with the fact that he fails to take ownership of his unprofessionalism and mediocre work. Btw, I was completely upfront with the nature of the stairs and even he admitted that I didn't have a lot of things to move. read more

Jalen and Allen were quick to respond, reliable and careful. I was in a pinch and needed help with loading and loading some pretty heavy boxes. They responded the same day and were ready to go the next day. They were honest about their time frame and committed to it. Some stuff was easy while other stuff wasn't. They had the job done in just about 2 hours. And all my stuff was as is. They had a big truck! But, My stuff was a small load. They looked prepared for a big task. Reasonable cost, reliable, friendly, and got the work done! read more

They showed up after committing to the move and left without telling me because one item was too heavy for them. I had a flight the next day and was screwed. Lazy and untrustworthy. read more

On time, efficient and good value. I rarely need help from movers; however, I was impressed. I sent a request on yelp for a quote, and five replied. Jalen of the Town Movers gave me an upfront quote per hour and a gas fee which was the best value. In addition, they showed up on time, worked fast, and had a helpful solution-minded attitude. Jalen was flexible on payment methods via Zelle or Venmo. Jalen is a local small business owner with a good attitude and honest dealings. Look no further if you are looking for movers or hauling in the bay area. read more

The Town Movers were great! They gave me the best price for what I needed, which was an entire portable shed removal. They were fast and very good with communication. They were even prepared to come the day I contacted them! Absolutely will call again if I need any more services from them! Thanks again guys! read more

If you want just people to just move stuff, it's fine. You get what you pay for. Ended up with a deep scratch in a computer monitor and a dirty chair with dirt footprints on it. Was told they could move a 2 bedroom in one trip. That was false. Needed to make TWO trips which added an insane amount of time and racked up the cost. Not surprised. Also talked with them about bringing over the rest of a couch, which I was going to tip for, maybe just a 30-45 minute job. Then stopped replying to me once I mentioned damaged items. Like I said you get what you pay for. Can they "move" things? Sure. But you might want to invest in a professional moving team for a seamless and consistent experience. (Not to mention my dad who is over 60 was helping them and showing them how to do certain things they couldn't figure out) read more

These guys are very punctual and professional. I was expecting them to take around 4-5 hours, considering all of the clothes I had. For my one bedroom move but they completed my move in just under 2 hours . I will definitely be contacting them again in the future. I just wanted to say thank you to jay and Allen for the great experience I had! read more

Jaylen was responsive and arrived promptly at the agreed upon time. Very easy interaction. Happy to recommend.

It was my first time hiring movers and Jalen's company was very responsible and reliable. We stayed in communication for two weeks until my move. They were very professional and efficient. There was a change in the start time and Jalen reached out over 48 hrs ahead of time to make sure it was alright. They were great. If you have any moves you need to do please reach out to them first! read more

Would absolutely recommend and will use Jalen and Allen again on future moves. They were extremely responsive, professional and moved heavy furniture for me today. Also took apart a large table for me and put it back together which was a huge plus. 10/10! Thanks guys!! read more

They were an excellent help in my move. On time and very efficient. I strongly recommend them. Before they arrived, I had already strained my right shoulder, dropped a filing cabinet on my left hand and broke a ceramic cat. They arrived as I was panicking. They calmed me down and took over. Very easy going and I am very grateful for their patience. read more

After moving a million boxes into a one bedroom, I had a ton of cardboard, some styrofoam, and a broken table top that needed to be disposed and thankfully Jalen from Town Movers was able to help out. A good service for what we needed. They got the job done in a good amount of time and it was definitely less then whatever cost for a quote unquote professional moving company. Both guys were nice and took care of the furniture they were bringing down. 8/10 service which is pretty good! read more

Jalen was immediately responsive over Yelp messaging. Initially, he and TTM provided less auto-replies than other competitors, but their rate was very reasonable and once I inquired further they were very responsive. Jalen and Allan communicated with me beforehand to confirm and clarify all details and concerns, they arrived early and started promptly on the hour. They even beat me to the second location. There were no hidden fees and they were constantly looking for ways to help me as I tried to help them and also not get in their way too much. I made sure they got at least some water during the move and turns out I was moving to Allan's neighborhood. It was a very good neighborly welcome overall. I highly recommend The Town Movers and this duo. read more

The Town Movers are THE best! They helped me with junk collection and moving furniture to my Storage unit. They were professional, affordable, and worked with my crazy schedule when it came to pick up time. Absolutely would recommend them! read more

These guys were so great! We had an insane amount of stuff for a 1 bedroom apartment, but Jalen and Allen didn't bat an eye and worked tirelessly and professionally until everything was done. They were responsive, easy to book and very flexible the day-of. Really nice guys to boot! We definitely recommend The Town Movers. read more

Jalen did a great job! He was very careful carrying two 7'+ bookcases up three flights of stairs. The only reason I didn't give him five stars is because the specs changed slightly and he doubled the price which I didn't think was right. But he is an ambitious young man so I didn't argue, I just paid it. (But I didn't tip him.) read more

If you want your furniture moved quickly, efficiently and without breaking PLEASE LOOK ELSEWHERE !! This move was my BIGGEST NIGHTMARE EVER!! I don't know how these guys have such good rating! These guys are unprofessional, slow and can't get the job done. Assembly disassembly of furniture is totally out of the question (we had to do it ourselves). They took 4hrs for a job which was supposed to take 1-1.5hrs. The job got done only because we helped as well!!! We had to literally disassemble the furniture load it in the truck & unload it as well like we were part of the crew. There were instances during the move when we were instructed to wrap the furniture with the clear wrap by the movers, or get things for them that they left behind instead of doing it themselves!! We also realized two chairs were missing at the end only to find out they were never loaded at the pickup place! We wanted to hire professionals so that the burden of moving is off of us but hiring them itself was a big burden on us!! We felt totally SCAMMED because these guys are NOT AT ALL equipped for the job! They didn't wrap any of our furniture and just left it in the rain because of which all of it was wet. Don't even get me started about all the furniture that they broke!! Never have I ever had such a BAD MOVING EXPERIENCE! read more

I was very happy with the Town Movers when they moved me less than a year ago, so that was the reason I called them again. This time, I spent extra time to wrap up all my valuable items, and told them several times to pay attention to fragile pieces. The moving process ended up shattering the glass which was the top of my vanity desk, a very expensive piece. My heart shuttered with that glass. On top of that, Jay said he will pay for it, but actually added some fees (like tolls, which wasn't applicable to me, the moving happened in the city), and tried to charge me even more than the price he sent up front. I hope this review will serve as a reminder to be careful for things that people value because sometimes it's hard to replace them. And I hope this will serve as a reminder to be clear up front about all additional charges. I always tip greatly, but I'm sorry, this was very disappointing service. read more

They facilitated a last minute move for me. Although there was some miscommunication, Jay and his team stayed on top of everything and we were able to resolve all miscommunications immediately. These guys are excellent and highly recommended. read more

Very good service! They were very quick to respond to my initial call. I sent them images of what needed to be removed and they were able to give a quote over the phone right away. We scheduled a removal haul for a few days out. There was a minor scheduling hiccup, but they were quick to update. The removal process was very quick and painless. They had all the proper equipment and were in and out in no time. I would highly recommend them for removing any junk you may have lying around. read more
