After an Autumn walk over the Heath this looked like the perfect place to have a tea and scone whilst warming up. They also sell some tasty pastries and light snacks. Their iced chocolate drink is tasty and they also sell milkshakes alongside the typical selection of coffees and teas. They also have indoor and outdoor seats and i expect in summer it would be a nice place to sit out and enjoy a drink. Overall a pleasant experience but hopefully the staff will cheer up in case i decide to pop in again.

For starters, this coffee shop bakery is so cute - picture floor to ceiling windows, a corner spot for great people watching and a stunning baked goods display. There were so many other treats I wish we could have tried. Also, I appreciated how thorough and thoughtful they were in sharing ingredient lists for my oof allergy. Overall, a very tasty and memorable pit stop.

Well it is called a 'Literary Cafe.' The food menu is rather posh with very clean feel to it. Yes you can get an American Breakfast, but it is just a stack of four pancakes with syrup - no bacon. Not sure how I feel about that. Actual yes I do. "I want me some bacon!" Sandwiches seem to be marketed as the A-list eat, but something else caught my eye. How about pancakes with baked apples, maple syrup, cream cheese and pecans. Oh yeah! I also purchased a house smoothie that tasted good, but once my pancakes arrived that bad boy had my undivided attention. As that first bite hit my palate my reaction was one of an overload of sweetness. Within seconds my tastebuds rose to the challenge and declared "Leon we can handle this!" Boy did they handle it well. I loved my lunch. It was priced at £5.95 so I'll let you decide if you think it's expensive. Rustique Literary Cafe is one of those places to get away from the hustle and bustle. The vibe is relaxed, the food is good, the clientèle remarkably middle-class and it has that all important free wifi.

I fell so in love with this spot I went a few times, once for breakfast solo in the garden which was so peaceful and aromatic and loved watching the birds. Another time with a girlfirend inside and the bar and art and banquettes are charming and still another time for tea and a glass of wine on the couches (you can sit there if not ordering food). The mint tea was lovely, the wine list included a lovely Italian white and French Rose I enjoyed. As far as breakfast I kept it to the basics because when done right I believe simplicity is delicious, So the two hen eggs which I had twice once fried to perfection another scrambled just so with fresh sourdough leek oil sautted spinach sausage eggs to your choosing. The real star here is the garden and the lovely staff. A very special nod to Takis who felt like coming home and was so helpful and kind. Nabil served me early one day, lovely, Christos and Artan deserve mention. If you live in London, are coming in from the countryside this is your little taste of that, after being in Sussex it was a lovely transition. If you are visiting from abroad a highly suggest you go as well and that puts you in the neighborhood of Belgravia which is quiet but has countless hidden gems down alleys or tucked away, great access to public transportation, and easy walk to Buckingham Palace and a look at the posh side of things in London. I will definetly be returning.

I actually enjoyed it so much I had it au natural with a mug of tea when I got home. It's just packed with flavour and so good. With everything freshly baked from scratch on site you really get the best of flavour from the freshness. I also got a slice of banana cake which went down with ease. I was pleasantly surprised that the server created a mini stack for me. The tea was quite flavorful but the scones were a bit lacking. Of the 4 tea places I went to this week, these scones were the driest. Even covering them in jam and cream wasn't enough--I wanted to dunk them in tea. The pate was delicious though, came with lots of toast, as well as fresh sliced cherry tomatoes and cucumbers. I also loved the fresh fruit (strawberries and cherries), and lovely marshmallows. She said it was really good as well but the clams weren't cleaned well since she could still taste the grit. Other than that I would say it is one of the best pasta places I've been to. The decor was great as well, clean and crisp with the piano music adding to the vibe. For my main, I had the tagliatelle with scampi, artichoke and tomato. The dish, though beautifully presented, I felt lacked a bit of flavour- think it needed a hit of citrus or some pepper? Dessert was very tasty, though not the best creme brûlée I've had- taste was there but my sugar crust was not so crunchy in places, could have used a few more minutes under the grill. Our wine was superb! Great selection in a range of price points. 4 stars for great service, ambiance, and a lovely meal with fantastic wine!
