You won't regret it! The long version: My father + I have been golfing together since I was super young. Fast forward to now, after a longggg hiatus I'm now in my late twenties and about to move to the Carolinas where there is a myriad of golf courses (like Florida). Lets just say that I wanted to graduate from schooling everyone at Mini Golf and get ready for the Big Leagues ;D That's where Mike Simmons comes in. My father found Mike and we immediately set lessons together as a Father-Daughter activity together before I move away. We bought a package from Mike that includes 6 Lessons and round of Golf on the course. Despite having some experience and my father being his own self proclaimed guru (with clubs straight from 1970s and never updated, mind you) Mike is able to break down the fundamentals of the game in a very thorough and concrete way. (And convinced my father to update his clubs! haha) Our lessons consisted of learning all aspects of the game. History, foundation, long range, short game. And all the little details in between from your stance, how to properly how the club, lining your shot. Nothing is missed. At times it may seem like information overload but once you hit that sweet shot you'll have that "Ah-ha!" moment that only Mike could provide. If I wasn't leaving in a couple of months I would definitely get more lessons from him. A++

As a disclaimer, I had never touched a golf club or stepped onto a driving range. In essence, I am a total beginner, which was refreshing for both the instructor and me. It was not until recently, I realized Josiah Singletary, elite golf instructor, went above and beyond to ensure my time at Rick Smith's was more than pleasant. The golf center is a business partner of Trump Doral, therefore it is on the property. Josiah took me on a tour and went around the different ballrooms and conference centers. I attached the pictures I took while I was on the tour. Note that the pictures are before the event planners organize the rooms to give a better appreciation for the luxurious space available. Regardless of your political affiliation, it was very apparent that every aspect of the Trump Doral facilities and experience had not been forgotten, with the finest attention to detail present in every aspect of the resort. Josiah took the time to highlight certain aspects of the architecture that he thought was interesting. No politics; just golf, luxury, and relaxation. I appreciated Josiah's talent for time management because the transition from the tour to golfing lessons was seamless. He recommended the order of instructions: putting, chipping, and driving. I agreed and we started with putting. As a beginner, I was unaware of the intricacies at play, especially when Josiah utilized his equipment. In addition to the equipment, he understands that some students are visual learners so he would incorporate slow motion videography. It was immediately apparent that his advanced knowledge of the game enables a focused observation of your stroke. In my case, I had "micromovements" that once corrected, improved my game significantly. The clips I uploaded were among some of the videos that were recorded after his suggestions for body corrections. It is this positive reinforcement of the contact sounds between the balls and club that the sky is the limit with your own development. My personal tip is to ask about the x-factor, which will put you ahead of most beginners! Overall, I would give Josiah Singletary the highest compliments as an instructor. I recommend him and the Rick Smith's Golf Performance Center in the highest regard.

As others have mentioned, the mats are worn and uneven, it could use a major update. The worst part is as I was paying, the owner guilted me into adding a few extra dollars for a "tip". Not sure what he did to deserve one but tipping culture has def reached its peak if they are pushing for tips at this place. Unreal!! Two small buckets and two iron rentals (drivers are additional) came out to $50+. I'll go to TopGolf next time for similar pricing but a better experience.
