Great experience with The Tile Shop. I had purchased some backsplash tile here a couple of years ago, and was very happy with the selection and the customer service. So when a friend mentioned she was looking for tile I brought her here because I knew she would love the selection. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door, and an employee explained the layout of the store, and where we could find the types of tile we were looking for. There were several bathroom and kitchen displays, as well as a laundry room and fireplace display. We found quite a few that we liked and purchased pieces to take home and compare. I was shown a tile that I really liked and ordered it. After the installation I noticed 7 tiles had scary faces within the tiles. Everyone I showed could also see the faces except the manager at the Castleton store. The customer service that I received at the Tile Shop in Castleton was very poor. We have done a few updates to home in the last few years and had been referred to the Tile Shop by our remodeling company. We used them 3 years ago when we redid our kitchen and they only did our backsplash. Most recently we redid our master bathroom and they were responsible for our floor tile and shower tile. They did a wonderful job both times. Their work crew was always kind and did a wonderful job cleaning up everyday. The customer service we received in the store was always professional. A+ for selection! Prices are quite a bit higher than box stores but they do have nice quality merchandise and a great selection. We've visited twice in the last week. Our first time a younger gentleman was helpful while giving us time to browse and helped us pick out tile and accessories for a shower niche. When returning today I had an older gentleman that seemed very impatient with someone who did not know the correct terminology or who did not know very much about the tile process (felt like an eye roll or a dumb woman coming into a tile store). That feeling was not very welcoming though the man clearly knew his business and provided great information. I have to give only 4 stars. read more

We did a remodel project in 2022, and we had some trouble with the tile we purchased from the Tile Shop. They were very responsive in helping us to replace the tile and get our concerns addressed. There is a reason this business is not killing it on Yelp. During our first visit we searched the store for more than 15 minutes before anyone asked us if we needed help. In the spiffy tile world you're looking at easily spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars yet the customer service didn't seem to match the price point of what you were about to dive into. This particular location is a stone's throw from the Castleton Square mall and easily accessible off of 465. During our second visit to pick up the tile the staff was again not attentive. I had to go approach a group of employees to ask for help (the fellas were busy chitchatting at the counter). Super frustrating when you just dropped $400 on a little chunk of tile. A lesson on customer service would go a long way here. I also felt that the older gentleman who helped me had some sexist vibes- I felt as if he was talking down to me throughout the encounter. I went to The Tile Shop after searching in major hardware stores and online for a specific color of standard 3x6 ceramic tiles. Everywhere i looked had only "bright white" and I needed a warmer color. I was very impressed with all the options as soon as I walked in. It was overwhelming. After walking around for 10-15 minutes, clearly looking lost, James approaches me and asked how he could help. I told him exactly what i was looking for and he showed me the samples I liked. He walked me through the options for purchasing some tile samples since I was trying to coordinate with a warm patterned granite countertop. He gave me the pricing and helped me price out my options. A great place. They have a lot of exhibits set up so you can see how the tiles look in bathrooms and kitchen. Customer service was great. David periodically checked on us and answers questions but did not hover which I greatly appreciated. He did say the shop is going to be renovated soon and they will have a lot of new exhibits to look at. Worst shopping experience ever. I spent months trying to find the right tile choice to extend around our fire place. Finding the right tile to tie in the slate with tan carpet and yet have something eye catching and delightful has been hard. I finally found the PERFECT solution that I love on display in the store. I even called my contractor to come by and make sure he could create the look I saw there. When I asked the attendant to help me order the tile I wanted he explained that it's been discontinued. Oh, it's on display and the sign detailing all the elements used is there but not even an indication that it's not available. So don't go there, look at their displays and think you can buy THAT tile, cause they won't even mark it if it's unavailable. Biggest waste of my time and energy. read more

As everyone has said in reviews, they have a great selection. But their customer service is horrific. In store they ignore you or treat you like you are stupid. On the phone they act like you are inconveniencing them. They never called to tell us if our order was in or called to tell us if it would be delayed. They have great tile BUT if you are not working with a contractor don't even bother going there. I have been tiling for years myself, I have shopped there multiple times and every time I was a little upset with their customer "service" & I use that term loosely! I recently purchased roughly $1000 worth of tile and products and had asked if it was possible to pay them to cut approximately 6 pieces of tile for me because my tile saw does not cope with 24" tile. The sales associate I dealt with assured me that was fine. When I took the 6 pieces in that sales associate was not working that day and after being greeted cheerfully by someone else I explained what I was there for? His attitude immediately turned disdainful and although I had written on the tile what size I needed the cut to be (the same on all 6 pieces) he looked at me as though I were an idiot and said all the pieces have to be marked for cutting. I explained to him that I was happy to do that but it would have been much simpler for everyone if I had been made aware of that at the time I bought them. He didn't even bother replying to this and handed me a 12" straight edge (for 24" tile) and a tape rule. He then proceeded to ignore me while I stood at the counter and tried to take up as little room as possible while marking the tiles. It was an embarrassing experience but I would have let it go except: My fiancé offered to pick up the cut tile for me, as he knew I had no wish to go back there. They did not bother to plastic wrap the cut tile and 4 of them broke on the way home. My fiancé knew nothing about the delicate nature of Terrazzo tile but they did. They also did not put in at all a pice that had broken off one of the tiles they cut. Sorry for the long review but it was a horrible experience all round and I will never go back there. read more

While I will say that they have a good variety of tile and stone options, I am disappointed in their customer service. I had an issue with my tile order and they were unwilling to make things right. I tried to speak to both my sales rep and the manager and neither offered to rectify things. I would suggest you use caution when you purchase to avoid installing tile that was misrepresented. Disappointing that they are unwilling to resolve things appropriately, this is one place where the customer isn't always right. read more

"We don't have the caulk you ordered two months ago". What? We ordered about $600 worth of tile literally two months ago. The sales person recommended the best matching grout and caulk for the job and we added that to the order. When we went to pick up the materials yesterday, the day before the installation was to begin, we were told that they didn't have the caulk we had ordered. Really? We asked if they had another brand in a similar color that we could substitute and were told "no" and that we would need to go to Home Depot to get a replacement. Wait - the grout is "pearl" color - basically a light beige....and a tile specialty shop doesn't have another brand of a similar color? Nope. So we went to Home Depot which, on a Sunday afternoon is quite busy. It took about forty-five minutes that we really didn't have to get assistance and pick the "bone" colored caulk that we thought would most closely match the "pearl" grout from The Tile Shop. Not being tile experts, we didn't realize that it's not good to have the grout and caulk be slightly different shades. So, when our installer arrived this morning, he said that he couldn't use the non-matching grout and caulk, and would have to go out and get new supplies. We've now waisted an hour of his time, and will waste yet another hour and a half of our own if we drive across town to return the items. What a pain. Why didn't someone call us and tell us the Tile Shop was out of our caulk. Why didn't the guy who was "helping" us yesterday recommend a different combo of grout and caulk? What an exasperating experience. Never again! The tile is nice though. There's one positive...... read more

It's a shop with all variety of tile, and I mean variety. I was overwhelmed by the shear amount of selection, which is a plus. They have most families of stone, ceramic, slate, glass, and nice examples of sets together to guide your selection. The staff was super helpful. My hubby and I were referred here by our contractor. The reason for the deduction in a star is due to the fact the person who was supposed to help us (we had an appointment) didn't show up! We were clueless as to what we needed and the sizes of our bathroom etc. Normally I would have come prepared, but our contractor arranged all these details with this particular Tile Shop employee, so we had to take a stab in the dark with regards to what we needed. In the end, the person who stepped in and helped us (Josh), was extremely awesome, but he didn't know the details of our account, as he was had only stepped in. In the end, we picked out tile based on an assumption of a certain floor and long story short, we will need to drive all the way back up to 82nd to select new tiles! Not thrilled. Overall, I think the Tile Shop has great service and they are very knowledgable, but the dude blowing us off and the inability for someone else to look up our account really irritated me. read more

The options of tile that the tile shop offers is absolutely amazing, but the team fails big time on execution. I went in on 1/20 looking for a very basic 3"x 6" matte white tile, I first spent about 20-30mins looking for products not once was I asked if I needed help. I finally found a similar product that I was looking for and they didn't have enough on hand, no problem they have a ton of options and it would be silly to keep lots of inventory of every tile. I then proceeded to place an order for 1 single box of this tile, the salesman said they have a truck coming in and it should be here Wednesday 1/23 or at the very latest Friday 1/25, he then asked me to call before coming to pick it up to ensure that the product has came in, perfect not a problem. I called on 1/23 a gentleman answered the phone very polite and said that it wasn't on the truck, but the next truck comes in Thursday 1/24, so if I could call back Friday it should be in, again not a problem. I call back Friday around 11am, the guy who answered took my phone number and went to look up my order, I sat on hold for 5-10mins before he came back on, told me he is printing off my order form to go look in the back and he will give me a call right back. I waited for 15mins with no call back before I decided to make the 20min drive back to the store to see if they had my tile. I arrive still no call back, I go in and the guy prints off my paperwork goes to look in the back and then says "oh yeah I looked for this a little while ago and it isn't here yet." I was told it would be in this weekend, I said no I will just take my refund. Very disappointed in the process this company has in place for their orders and deliveries. Terrible communication between the staff and customers, and seems like they need a complete overhaul of the staff or correct training and systems put in place. I will not be returning. read more

There are many stores that have nice tile but this store is beyond that! They have awesome displays to help give you an idea of what to select since they have such a huge selection. I saw other reviews saying this store didnt have good service but i beg to differ! Ive been using this store for years as an interior designer and as time has passed i have only seen an improvement! This year alone i have gone to this store for multiple projects and have worked with different people. Any time i had a problem or issue the manager, tim i believe his name is, was extremely professional courteous and did everything he could until he made things right. As hectic as that store gets i figured the manager wouldnt have time to work with me on small problems, but was pleasantly surprised by his attentiveness, knowledge and dedication to his job. He truly has made a difference in this location and how it is run! The old manager jason was a great guy, but not as organized and i will continue to take my business to the tile shop in castleton!
