    Master bath tile work

We have done a few updates to home in the last few years and had been referred to the Tile Shop by our remodeling company. We used them 3 years ago when we redid our kitchen and they only did our backsplash. Most recently we redid our master bathroom and they were responsible for our floor tile and shower tile. They did a wonderful job both times. Their work crew was always kind and did a wonderful job cleaning up everyday. The customer service we received in the store was always professional. We had appointments both times and never had to wait. I would definitely recommend the tile shop to anyone looking to update your home.

A+ for selection! Prices are quite a bit higher than box stores but they do have nice quality merchandise and a great selection. We've visited twice in the last week. Our first time a younger gentleman was helpful while giving us time to browse and helped us pick out tile and accessories for a shower niche. When returning today I had an older gentleman that seemed very impatient with someone who did not know the correct terminology or who did not know very much about the tile process (felt like an eye roll or a dumb woman coming into a tile store). That feeling was not very welcoming though the man clearly knew his business and provided great information. I have to give only 4 stars.

There is a reason this business is not killing it on Yelp. During our first visit we searched the store for more than 15 minutes before anyone asked us if we needed help. In the spiffy tile world you're looking at easily spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars yet the customer service didn't seem to match the price point of what you were about to dive into. This particular location is a stone's throw from the Castleton Square mall and easily accessible off of 465. During our second visit to pick up the tile the staff was again not attentive. I had to go approach a group of employees to ask for help (the fellas were busy chitchatting at the counter). Super frustrating when you just dropped $400 on a little chunk of tile. A lesson on customer service would go a long way here. I also felt that the older gentleman who helped me had some sexist vibes- I felt as if he was talking down to me throughout the encounter. Ayaya, next time I'll check out Architectural Brick & Tile on I69.

    A terrible place to shop.

Just left the Tile Shop... first and last time in. My sister walked the entire, very small, shop before anyone did as much as greet us. Very rude, unwelcoming, and preoccupied staff. Terrible, save your money because their selection is poor and the customer service is worse.

The gentleman who helped us, looked at the part and went back to the stockroom to see if he could find one. And when he could not, he instead removed that same part from the floor display of one of his own water softeners. He said he would then just contact the manufacturer and get a replacement for himself later. But he made sure that we were taken care of. And the price was a whopping $3.62. In addition, he was an absolute pleasure to work with. This was my first time shopping at Economy Plumbing Supply today, and I am so grateful for this experience, that I'm going out of my way to make sure that I say thank you, and also give a heartfelt recommendation to them. In addition, I'd also like to thank the very nice woman who offered us coffee and donuts while we were there! It likely is I visit a closer competitor more frequently, so I'm just as not familiar with the layout of Menards. There also seem to be fewer employees in the aisles that you can ask for help. But really, how could you not? The name of this place is Menards! Anyway, I visited this Menards, thinking, "Me nards! Me nards!" over and over in my head as I went in search of some indoor plants. But what do you know: They must not have indoor plants in late fall, because I could find nary a one. They didn't even have any outdoor plants. Apparently, Menards is not the place to find plants of any kind when the weather turns cold. So I walked around to see if maybe they were hiding the plants somewhere else, and I came across aisles of pet products, Christmas trees, patio furniture, paint, and lots of other things. Menards seems to be a one-stop-shop for home improvement. Parking is plentiful, and it's easy to get on and off the interstate.

I visited this location because I was shopping for someone on my Secret Santa list who likes this store. I was able to buy him a gift card and a few different trinkets to make up a gift basket. This place is awesome because you can find a lot of great tools and gadgets for under $5. In fact, you'll find a lot of them for around $1.99! It was very easy to find everything because the aisles were tidy and the shelves were well stocked. There were quite a few people in the store, but when I checked out, I didn't have to wait too long because the lines went quickly. Before leaving, I also saw a package of hand warmers that I've been wanting but haven't been able to locate in other stores. I love a store that sells practical, useful things.

Taking the spot vacated by CVS and expanding beyond it, it seemed an unusual move considering the relative proximity of Sullivan's, Lowe's, and Hedlund's all over near 62nd and Keystone. That said, the neighborhoods are entirely different and this neighborhood really hasn't had anything resembling a hardware store. There was a place open for a bit near 75th and Binford, however, this neighborhood has really sort of struggled to attract new businesses. Other than a Big Lots across the street and the always popular Taylor's Bakery, this corner has been a bit run down and neglected for as long as I've lived in the area. Recently, this particular corner is showing signs of life with both strip centers being renovated and now the arrival of Ace Hardware. Great Lakes Ace is a Michigan-based company with 62 locations. The location has been cleaned up mightily and the accessibility definitely improved with a better ramp and automatic doors. The store itself is surprisingly accessible for a hardware store (a weakness of Sullivan's). Ace prides itself on offering expert advice on a variety of home repair and maintenance projects with convenient shopping to get in and out quickly and national buying power for access to name brands. Ace specializes in paint, lawn and garden, home décor and hardware. They offer weekly specials and they do participate in the Ace Rewards program. This location also offers Ace Handyman Services. They come to the home and offer 1,162 handyman services and services are backed by a one-year guarantee. You can schedule online and they call back to confirm appointments. It looks like they typically schedule in 1/2 day or full-day options. The craftsmen are actual Ace employees - not contractors. The Ace that I found was well staffed and super friendly and helpful. I was basically "just looking" at this visit, however, I felt free to do so without a lot of pressure. Some of the key services at this location: Propane Refill/Exchange Blades/Knives/Scissors/Saws Sharpening Screen Repair Hunting/Fishing Licenses Auto Key Programming and Cutting Glass Repair and Cutting Assembly and more. Brands they carry include Traeger, Weber, STIHL, Scotts, Toro, Benjamin Moore, YETI, Magnolia Home Paint, Craftsman, Dewalt, and a few others. I suppose 5-star might be a little generous for a hardware store, however, I really liked the improved atmosphere of this store from the dingy, worn out feeling in the old CVS. This location is clean, well organized, surprisingly affordable, and has employees who were friendly and helpful. Plus, accessibility is improved quite a bit from the old tenant.
