The prices are very reasonably and on a Wednesday and Saturday they have a selection of home made pies priced at £5.75 which and are brimming with fillings, it also comes with a potato side of your choice and fresh veg, I normally struggle to finish it. The puddings are something to die for, highly recommend the cheesecake. As for the staff, I have not found another pub that has staff this accommodating and friendly, nothing is to much trouble for them, if something you want is not on the menu, they will try to accommodate your needs. The pub is an old coaching house it has a large bar area split by a fantastic open fire that is lit during the colder periods giving it that real country pub atmosphere. It has some big round tables in this area that can seat 6-8 people, ideal for having a chat and a drink with friends, it also has some soft sofas for lounging around on. They have a defined restaurant area, which is set to the side and tastefully decorated. I believe they also do B&B so an ideal location to stay if you like your country walks. All in all this is a lovely pub, give it a try if you are in the area.

The save with the whisked spray cream. Service is OK, but perfectible. The pub can be reached by a public footpath from the main Stansted terminal. So if your flight is delayed, you may consider a 15 mins walk to eat healthier and cheaper food.

They also do a few special nights e.g. freshly caught fish and chips on Friday, and curry night on Tuesday. They also have live music on sometimes, blues singers/ gutiarists on Sunday afternoons etc. Sunday lunchtimes tend to be the busiest time, as the Sunday roasts are very popular. No surprise because they are pretty good.

There are a number of pubs in the area and I return here time and time again. I've organised several large group lunches here and always had a very good experience. Food is consistently excellent , with a seasonal menu updated frequently. Prices are reasonable and they usually have a delicious little variety of ales and lagers on offer. Aside from the lovely English garden al fresco dining, the service is simply great. This place cares about the customer and it shows. Staff are friendly without being overbearing, and they are happy to go out of their way to check on your order or add to your order, even during crazy busy lunch times. Tip: if you do have a large group, I recommend you order in advance. Call the restaurant and they'll send you the current menu and a handy spreadsheet to fill out.

There's a great selection of tasty burgers on the menu, and they have a large selection of ales that are constantly changing. There's a lot of space, and when the weather is nice, a reasonable amount of space outside. There are also a stack of board games, but not all the pieces are always there, so it can making playing them a bit difficult. It's just one of those old style English pubs that is enjoyable to hang out with for the day and drink some ales. I can highly recommend them!
