The manager (I think she's the manager - the one with the brunette-red Dutch Boy hairdo) is consistently rude and won't give sale prices unless you ask for them, then she acts she's doing you a huge favor for honoring their posted sales, or argue that the item you are trying to purchase is not included in the sale. I was dropping off donations once and a British woman hollered out, "Don't bring any clothes. We are NOT accepting clothes right now. We have TOO MANY clothes!" I wasn't dropping off clothes, just kitchen items and decor. I wish I would have just closed my trunk and drove away and taken them to the North Idaho Youth Ranch Store. Real question - if they have too many clothes, why don't they lower their prices? I won't be back. Ever. I used to shop there 2-3 times per week. No more.

What pushes them over the top IMO are the extras like maternity clothes and cloth diapering materials. These items are hard to find second-hand, so having a lower cost alternative can make all the difference. I appreciate the cloth diapers especially; deciding whether or not to go cloth is a tough decision, and the huge upfront costs of buying sets can be a hurdle too high. Having the option to buy used is just another factor that makes this relatively "green" choice a bit more appealing. Prices are about average or perhaps a smidge (5%) higher than the big franchise stores. The trade in credit you'll get for used stuff is also about average. In my experience you can expect to get around a third to half of what the used item will retail for, which is about a third to a half of what it retails for new. For example, a brand new $80 high chair will sell here for $40 or less, and you're liable to see $20 or so in trade credit. Not bad. The key is keeping things in prime condition, which is always a challenge. Location is on Argonne Rd. right off the highway. Before going into Hospice this day, I had already been to the others and was actually quite taken back on the other shops' prices. I understand there is a fine line of pricing items to support the organization in which they represent and not just giving items away, but before going Hospice I had left every other thrift shop empty handed strictly due to the cost of items. However, I left Hospice with a few great items and all at a great, fair price!
