breakfast french toast & bacon- so yummy

We stayed at the Thompson House for the weekend as we were visiting for a friend's wedding and we cannot say enough about how awesome our experience was! Miller greeted us when we arrived on Friday and offered to carry our luggage in, showed us around, and instructed us that we would have breakfast ready at 9 am in the morning. We unfortunately were very busy all weekend and so we were only able to eat at the Thompson House for two breakfasts, but their restaurant/bar menus looked superb. Our room was spacious and it felt like we were brought back in time with all of the 1900s era decor (with a little bit of the modern luxuries provided as well). It was quiet and we slept very well! The room came with fiji waters, snacks, and aveda soaps which we loved. We woke up on Saturday and went down for breakfast and they already had a table set up for us with Miller following very shortly after carrying a delicious breakfast made in house. Both Saturday and Sunday's breakfasts were ready for us to eat as soon as we sat down! The owners were all very friendly and always went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The only hiccup we encountered during our stay was that the shower water temperature would at times rapidly change from hot to cold which seemed to be only when others in the house may have been using hot water as well- we did not really mind as it could be worked around by showering at less busy times of the day. Overall, we had an absolutely wonderful experience and we definitely plan on coming back for another stay to try out some of their other beautiful suites and eat at their restaurant!

The innkeeper showed us to our room, the master suite, and after we brought our luggage inside, we had a tea party on the veranda, which our kids really loved. Eva, the innkeeper, and Madison, her helper, had great conversation with us as our kids played hide-n-seek before going to the front pond/lake to skip stones off of the bridge. Our room was so spacious, and the bathroom was huge as well. It has a full jacuzzi/hot tub for a bathroom and the walk-in shower has two shower heads and a hand-held shower as well. The bed was incredibly comfortable. In the morning, breakfast was served and both mornings the food was delicious. Eva also gave us some great local places to eat as well. All-in-all, our stay was amazing and exceeded our expectations. Don't miss the original hardwood floors and antique Persian rugs. The owner, Mrs. Janice Michael, provided delicious quiché, a breakfast casserole, fresh fruit, juices and hot coffee ever morning. She would prepare the dishes in individual serving ramekins the evening prior, so all we needed to do is warm the them in the microwave. This was awesome- we could eat at our convenience and on our time schedule, not anyone else's. Each room has it's own private bathroom, television, wardrobe, books, wing back chair, king bed, and luggage stand. The spaces are amazing, quite, romantic, and extremely secure. One absolutely can not go wrong enjoying this historic bed and breakfast!!

Nestled in a sweet little town with restaurants that are sure to please. The owner is wonderful. Very willing to share her area with her clients. She is a lifelong resident and knows her stuff. Highly recommend.
