The receptionist…read morewas friendly and easy to book with since I didn't see any immediate availability on their online booking system. The spa has a very welcoming vibe to it once you walk in and it was nicely decorated inside and out for Christmas. It was also noticeably clean, which I immediately look at before receiving a spa treatment. We were greeted promptly upon arrival and our coats were taken from us to be hung up. We were then asked if we wanted any coffee or tea while we received our spa service. The coffee was good and nice to sip on to warm up. Melanie did my pedicure and Megan did my Mom's. They were both masked, professional and friendly. They made sure my Mom and I were both comfortable during the entire time. We sat in massage chairs that were so relaxing. There were plenty of nail polish colour options to choose from and we both chose festive Christmas colours. Overall, our pedicure experience was very relaxing and pleasant. I would definitely come back here with my Mom for a pedicure with Melanie and Megan. We would like to try getting manicures in the future with them. The spa is located in the heart of Manotick village, so it's very close to cute shops and cafes. Great location and would highly recommend!

After having a brain tumor a year ago this was my first time back at a hair salon. I asked…read moreMicheline for blonde highlights and a natural fade at the top so the growth back wouldn't be as visible. Left with a darker shade. Stylist didn't bother to set a timer and the toner ended up darkening my hair to the point where the highlights weren't even visible. Don't recommend this stylist she was rough and unprofessional. Hair is fried and not an inch of blonde is visible.

Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes!…read more Okay so outside the place just looks like a house the sign is really nothing much but when you walk in it's absolutely stunning. I'm sorry I did not take a picture. Hardwood floors, hardwood everywhere, smells amazing not chemically , crystal chandeliers, nice wide black leather seats, super clean. If you go for the spa pedicure pay for the extra massage you will thank me later. Really sweet staff as well. Highly recommend and just to add the extra nudge I am can be high maintenance when it comes to pedicures/massage so a five-star from me is High Praise!

This is probably the worst nail treatment I've ever had. I booked a shellac renew, which typically…read moretakes 30 minutes elsewhere. It took an hour here because the staff member (Mary I believe) was so unskilled and poorly trained. She scraped the old shellac with so much force it was painful and she also ripped off half a nail, which is now damaged and sore. She also cut two of my cuticles, one of which is still very painful and red. Her shellac application was pretty messy and she filed my nails at odd angles. I regret leaving a tip because I feel like I rewarded her. I would avoid this place, or at least make sure you don't book with Mary.

I came here for my very first Brazilian wax, encouraged with the purchase of a Groupon. I mention…read morethe Groupon, because usually when I use a Groupon for a service businesses have select appointment windows and it can sometimes be difficult to get a convenient time-slot--Sophia Esthetic was a pleasant exception. Their receptionist was friendly and super accommodating with the schedule. The spa itself isn't the easiest to get to because it's up a flight of stairs and down a hallway--there are other similar businesses in the same building so it's not sketchy or anything. The location itself is convenient though, just at the corner of MacLaren and Elgin. Once I figured out where the spa was I was impressed--it was warm and comfortable, there's a waterfall in the waiting room and calming music playing to create a nice relaxing ambiance. I saw Brittany and she was awesome. She was friendly and she made me feel comfortable and did a good job answering my questions. The room was clean, well-kept and prepared freshly before I went in. The whole experience was quick, clean, and not overly painful.

I have gone to Westbro salon once before and they did a good job. The salon does struggle with time…read moremanagement, even with an appointment I would expect to wait 20-30 minutes. They seem to be over booking. In both experiences going I had to wait. My second time going my experience wasn't great. I was rushed through. My nail technician kept answering the phone during my service. Little over 24 hours later my thumb nail chipped. I got my nails done on the Saturday, and they chipped on the Sunday. The chip isn't big however it happened fast. With chipping it will chip more and more. I contacted the salon in private and asked for a partial refund. I'm not able to go into the salon because I'm away. They declined and stated they only fix their work. They also suggested that I didn't put my hand in fair enough for the gel to cure. This is very frustrating that they blame the client for their work/don't clearly state their policy anywhere on the website or when confirming their booking. NowI have to buy white gel nail polish and fix it myself. At a cost. After already paying $90. It should be Westbros responsibility to reimburse a PORTION of the cost. No where does it state your policy of no refund for their mistakes. It is the responsibility of the nail tech to make sure the gel is completely cured/in the lamp. This is why customers go to a licensed salon. I understand mistakes happen however it is their responsibility as a business owner to back the work of your nail artists. Yes Westbro does have strong artists but they are forced to work too fast and skipping corners causes bad work at a high price point. When messing the Instagram account. The person responding it very rude, argumentative, and started ignoring my messages. Overall this experience sucked. I got my nails done for my engagement and they have added one more thing to do. On the already big list I have.

My hair always FEELS better when I leave than it does with other salons I've been to. I haven't asked her which products she uses when she washes and styles my hair after, but next visit I will probably buy some. The salon itself is always spotless, warm, and welcoming, and the staff go above and beyond to make you feel at home. The receptionist with long hair and big, Disney eyes (I didn't catch her name last time I was in) always offers me wine, coffee or tea and takes my jacket which I find to be a very nice touch. Their prices are not only reasonable, they're fair, and I am always thrilled with the end result. All the other staff that is working throughout the day seem to go out of their way to help each other, and I always have more than one person come up to me to say hi or to offer me something/offer their help.
