I went with 75%, but it ended up being really sweet... definitely wish I had gone lower. My friend got a taro slush with boba, and said the boba was pretty chewy, almost like it was slightly undercooked, which kind of threw off the texture. I've tried Milk Teas in multiples restaurants, and I'm pretty disappointed with the flavor of the drink here. I ordered a Taro Milk Tea, and it was more ice than the actual drink, it was very obvious that they use powders to make the drinks, since mine wasn't mixed completely, and the flavor wasn't as good as expected. Also, I'm very frustrated that I had to pay extra to get Tapioca on my milk tea and the portion was very stingy (If you don't have anymore tapioca, be honest, but don't give me the leftovers). Maybe for a person that has never ever tried any Asian Food or Beverages, this would be amazing. However, in my personal case it was disappointing. The left side of the large wall menu offers some preset drink options to pick from, like Tiger Milk Thai Tea. The right side shows you the build your own drink options. So many delicious choices ensures a different drink variety for months if you wanted to. I wasn't sure which 2 add-ins (included with each drink) that I wanted. A cute local boba shop! I would've loved this shop as a college student -- there's tons of board games, a small sofa area, and plenty of tables where you can bring your laptop and get some work done. They have shelves underneath the cash register that contain many board games and other games such as Connect Four and Sorry! There is a big menu to the right of the cash register that you can order off of or make your own tea. I'm not used to making my own tea so I just ordered the honeydew green milk tea and we decided on regular sweetness which was at 100% but the cashier recommended that I just do no sweetness because the honeydew was already sweet enough so I went with it. Sat down and picked up some board games to play while I waited for my drink. Once I got my milk tea and tasted it, I found it to be very delicious! To start you get to choose either black tea or white tea as the base. I don't think the other places in Colonial actual put tea in the Taro tea. The XL milk tea, $4.75 is big enough to share. If you check in with Yelp you can get a free size upgrade.. I totally missed it until after we purchased ours. I decided on the black tea which has more caffeine with taro coconut flavor. You have the option to have two different boba. I went with the normal boba and coconut boba. I wish I would have just stuck with the normal boba.. it's always the best! They ask you how sweet you want it too which is nice, other stores just make it to order but here you're able to customize so many things.
