My education is in Hotel Management and I'm super fussy about customer service and food quality. Once you've been there once, I love that the owner treats you like family. He knows I prefer vegetarian foods (or local grass-fed beef) and always has suggestions for me that may not even be as shown on the menu. I've seen him add a free chocolate chip cookie to a parent's order, when he sees a child with them. His attitude is "it's only a cookie, but the parents will remember me for it and, hopefully come back". That is exactly what great customer service should look like, but we all know that rarely these days is anything free. His potatoes with queso is a delicious Mexican treat with melted cheese etc.). He offers "bowls" for those who prefer not to have bread, although the burritos and quesadillas are awesome! For those nights when you don't feel up to cooking, it's great to have quality Mexican food in Fergus.

Lots of people order takeaway here, but they do have a small dining area indoors (3 small tables with stools) and also a picnic table outside. Owner Lucy is lovely and always great at making recommendations! After the first visit, I have brought more friends to try. Everything is fantastic and tasty here. So far I've had a tostadas, tacos, quesadilla, horchata and lemonade. The drinks are great pairing for the spicy food -- super refreshing but it's a small portion. My favourite food item thus far is the battered fish taco! It's fresh, flaky and perfectly seasoned with sauce. It doesn't feel heavy either. I look forward to returning and trying other items on the menu!

So on Sunday I went to the Wayfair outlet and I was hungry, my choices were Rudy and Guac. I…read moredecided to give Guac a try because my wife would be upset if I went to Rudy without her. Guac is a quick service restaurant in strip plaza on Appleby near the 407. It's part of a chain. Guac is short for guacamole. There was a big enough menu. I went for the three soft taco combo. In reality I should have ordered 2 individual tacos. You have a choice of a few basic proteins and two upgraded ones. But wait, if I compare to Taco Del Mar closer to home they don't have premium proteins. Also Guac corporate advertising and account people do not talk. Based on the name I figured that guacamole was their specialty, their forte so to speak. However they gatekeep it behind an add-on price, so most customers won't spend extra for it. The sizes of the tacos was filling. They were HUGE! However that and a bottle of Coke Zero was $20 including taxes, but excluding tip. Again I could get a slightly better taco threesome at Taco Del Mar. I'm in no hurry to repeat, but it was ok.
