why don't all the review say 5 star? Every time we have gone we wish we ordered more, not because portion is small, but it just tastes that good! Their sauces, they have a sauce bar with like half a dozen different sauces. Most of the time there is a line, but you know what, no one no one is complaining because it is WORTH the wait! And how do they get their fries to be so so oh so crunchy, I do not know ! It's magic. AND if you buy a soft drink there is HORCHATA and you can refill it! I'm in heaven! Just give me some ASADA with a side of ICEY HORCHATA !!! topped with green salsa and pico de gallo!

Taco Tuesday with some of mi amigos, We frequent the Upland location numerous times, thought we patronize this newest location in Fontana . I like the atmosphere feel of this location better than their Upland location. The Fontana site seems more spacious and open . Choices for Taco Tuesday $2 street taco special are the Al pastor, chorizo, chicken & carnitas . I was a bit disappointed the chicken were dry , the carnitas not soft . The tortillas felt stale , hard for my liking. I would hope the meat remained warm , I was served cold meat . Maybe have the already chopped meat sit on a hot water bath to keep warm ? ( just a thought) the upland location seems to grill their meat more frequently and it was served warmer . I do like the generous amount of onions and cilantro on my tacos .

New spot in Fontana! ordered 2 burritos Carne Asada & a Campechano (asada & Chorizo). Both were delicious! Good size. A little pricier than other spots at $14.75 a burrito. Something to consider. Tried 3 different salsas, Red, Green & Pineapple Habanero. Red was my fav, then the Green. Pineapple Habanero was just ok. Drink: Horchata was ok, but for $5, it should come in a larger cup. Not worth it. Will I come back and try it again? Yes, but that's just to try out different items and some of their specials. Hopefully, get more value for the buck. Give it a try, lemme know what you think :) I'll give an update on my next visit to share my recommendation Enjoy!

First time visiting this location. Staff gave a warm welcome and served great tacos! Meat was tender, juicy and flavorful. I luv their tortillas. It's not as thick as most places it's just right to hold that perfect bite in ur hand till ur ready to chomp. Salsas were a perfect touch for some heat. Fountain drinks and the bang juices are self serve. Inside seating area was clean and spacious. Lots of parking right in front.

2/24/26 The Taco Man Fontana, CA...Came here with 2 gr8 friends! I ordered 4 of the $2 Tuesday Tacos, a bean & Cheese burrito, and a horchata to drink! Always incredible and tasty food here! The tacos I had were carnitas, Chorizo, chicken, and al pastor. Balta and the 2 ladies know great customer service here. Restaurant was very clean. They give you a great amount of meats on the tacos and the bean & cheese burrito is a great size for $6! You know I will be back!!!

We've been to other The Taco Man restaurants and they never disappoint. They just opened and we were pleasantly surprised at how good the service was, how quick the food came out, and how clean the restaurant was. I had the keto taco before I LOVE cheese LOL and it was super yummy and easy to eat with the cheese as a the "tortilla". Also had the The Taco Man Taco and that thing, in my opinion, is a mini burrito! But so so good too!

I've come here twice now and food has been pretty good both times. On Tuesdays, they have $2 street tacos but the meat options are only limited to al pastor, chicken, carnitas, and veggies. The al pastor is my favorite. I have also tried their asada at regular price and it was ok, nothing special. Their salsas are good but I really like their guacamole. My first time here, they forgot some items in my order but they redeemed themselves on my second visit. The cashier was really nice. The restaurant is clean and the food was packaged nicely. Food does takes awhile to come out and prices for regular menu items are on the higher end (I only come on taco Tuesday)

Food was absolutely fresh and quick service balta made fresh and quick will come out again for lunch time.

Al pastor and chicken taco catering included salsas, pineapple for Al pastor, 3 different salsas, limes, handmade tortillas and rice/beans.

I ordered catering for my team today, and the entire experience was incredible from start to finish. Luis made the ordering process so easy, simple, and stress free, especially considering it was a last minute order. Everything was ready early and right on time when I arrived for pickup. The taco shop itself was spotless, welcoming, and had such a great vibe. The team was absolutely amazing. Their customer service truly stands out. Everyone was friendly, caring, passionate, and genuinely happy to be there. The staff took the time to explain how everything was packaged, and you could tell they put a lot of thought and care into every detail. Everything was organized beautifully, packaged carefully, and looked incredibly professional and aesthetically pleasing. When we served the food, my entire team was in awe. Everyone was able to enjoy multiple servings, with plates full of tacos, and we still had plenty left over. The portions were generous, and the food was beyond delicious. You can truly taste the care and effort that goes into every bite. This was the perfect choice for our surprise team gathering, and it exceeded all expectations. I highly recommend them for any catering event, big or small. We will definitely be back for more. Thank you to Luis and the entire team for making our event such a success!

When the food is so good you forget to take the picture before it's eaten! My second trip here and you can taste the love they put into the food they cook. Every bite flavorful and cooked right. Not overcooked and dry crumbles like most taco spots in town. Each bite is juicy and crispy on the outside. Meat cooked right Salsas are flavorful with some heat. Next time I will have the guts to try the pineapple habanero salsa Al pastor is better than Tijuana tacos (used to be my fav) and served with a slice of pineapple. Perfect pairing Asada is flavorful and juicy, can't ask for more These guys know what's up

Double Layer Nachos that was cold and just had a lot of guacamole
    Deej I.

This place seemed to have better quality and better service when they first opened. I came back and got a burrito, taco, and nachos. I was disappointed because the portions were not worth it and the food was cold. The burrito was ok and the Tijuana taco definitely wasn't like how they made it before. The cheese on the nachos were barely melted and the portion size was disappointing for the price. The price for their items is too expensive. I just came back from eating from on of my favorite Mexican restaurants in SD and I definitely had a lot more to eat, warm food, and paid a couple bucks less.

    Nachos half Asada half pastor

Wow, wow... flavor flav! I barely made it through the front door before ripping open my takeout and immediately deciding, "Nope, this needs a Yelp review right now before I finish inhaling the rest of this deliciousness." I was a little confused because instagram says they just had their grand opening yesterday, yet there are reviews from months back. BUT hey, if they've been secretly blessing the community this whole time, I totally get why people couldn't keep quiet. Inside it was nice and clean and the staff were nice & friendly. Today we tried the tacos and the nachos. I ordered the nachos half asada, half pastor and let me just say, this might be the best combo I've had in the area. Both meats were insanely flavorful. I skipped the lettuce and cabbage because your girl is here strictly for the meat, and let me tell you... no regrets. We also grabbed chicken tacos, plus I spotted the skirt steak tacos and immediately knew this place is going to be my new go-to taco stop. Bonus: it's in the same shopping center as Cardenas. Do your grocery run, then reward yourself with some truly BOMB tacos. You will not be disappointed. The horchata? Excellent! Highly recommend if you're in the area and honestly, even if you're not, it's worth the trip. It was a 20/10 for me !

    Burrito of repollo.

$70 worth of burritos with little to no meat, rice, or beans. Instead we got burritos full of repollo, which is interesting to have in a burrito to begin with. Save your money and skip this place unless you want to get skimped out of your money.

Grease all over, too much. The asada is basically soaked in grease.

What I always order (and I'm boringly consistent) is Two hard shell shredded beef tacos with rice and beans. The tacos always arrive with the perfect amount of meat, crisp lettuce, and a tasty amount of cheese. The shell stays crispy and never turns into a soggy tortilla which is a win! Rice is fluffy and well seasoned. The Beans are creamy, savory, and basically soul-warming! I can never finish the beans the portions are good. The Hubby gets the carne asada burrito, which is so huge it could double as a pillow after a long day. He swears it's delicious and I've "sampled" a bite and yes, the flavor is there, very satisfying. Chips and salsa come complimentary even with to-go orders! It's around $32 for my taco plate and the carne asada burrito is a bit more but you're getting a lot of goodness for your bucks. We always order take-out, and somehow - somehow - the food lands back home still warm. Magic? Maybe! We've never eaten in so I can't speak to the dine-in vibe. Reason being it is a tiny restaurant but it always looks clean and has a sitting area for to-go orders. My only tiny gripe when we call to place an order, there are moments where I'm on hold while the staff seem to have a full-blown conversation. Ten minutes later, they remember I'm on the line. It's not a deal breaker, just a "huh, okay" moment I file under "worth the wait for the fix." Bottom line: Expect satisfaction from El Chilitos. It's my dependable, no-surprises, "I'm craving comfort Mexican food" go-to. Consistent quality, reliable flavors, and a taxi-cab of a burrito. My pictures are horrible but I promise to eat there again and share more!

Because when I got my tacos and he got his burrito, it had hotsauce. I think this is something they should ask if you want when you are ordering. What if someone is ordering for a kid and they don't like hotsauce. I say this cos I don't like hotsauce. My boyfriend had to bring to back and they have new tacos with no hotsauce. The tacos are really good and packed with flavor, and the burritos are just as solid, big portions that actually fill you up without feeling overpriced. They have a good variety of salsas, and all of them taste fresh and delicious, not watered down like some places. You can really customize your food depending on how spicy you like it. The only downside is there's no kids menu, so it might be tough if you have really picky eaters.
