We visited with some friends so there were 4 Adults and 4 kids on a Saturday afternoon we only had 2 drinks each and the bar bill was twice the cost of the food. The staff were very attentive without being over powering, the young lady tending to us was very pleasant and struck up a rapport with us very quickly. Although on entry the bar is fairly basic lager, ale, stout, scratchings, crisps and house spirits it's the way the experience comes together; there's always a friendly vibe and a nod of "how do?" from the locals when you enter, the ale is near perfect from the taps every pint (also helped be being one of my favourite ales - Enville!). TV channels on the flat screen can be changed at request and if you don't fancy the wooden clad bar room there is the slightly plusher lounge or the smoking shelter / mini beer patio out back.
