This is the former headquarters of the 'Tipton Slasher'. Very old building (grade 2 listed) so a typical rustic Black Country pub! They have a good selection of Banks beers and lagers. Food is available lunch times and evenings (Weds,Thurs and Sat evenings food is BOGOF) although prices are cheap anyway!

I remember having a Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad here and it was gorgeous. You could taste the cheese straight away and the chicken was tenderly cooked. The bar also has a good selection of bitters, lagers, bottles and Guinness. They also have salt and vinegar crinkly mini cheddars which I've not seen anywhere else and which I highly recommend. The staff are the right kind of staff for the place - they know the locals but are just as friendly with passing customers. It's a family pub with a wacky warehouse play area and crayons and drawing paper for tiny diners. I went for lunch with a friend and we had to wait a while to be seated, even though the place was fairly empty. We then had to wait a while for our order to be taken, and wait a while longer for our 2nd drinks order to be delivered. Ouch. The staff were really very friendly, but it felt like they were a touch disorganised. The meal was passable. I had Chicken, which was nice, but my vegetables were dry and some burnt. Average, at the very best. The men's toilet was out of order and the place felt very worn, with a lot of damaged furniture and warning signs. The disabled toilet I had to use in lieu of the gents toilet was actually very dirty. Yuck. Overall, I give this place an extra star thanks to the staff being so friendly. It's not somewhere I'd recommend though.
