I've heard so many good things about Rockaway Hotel & Spa and finally got to try it so happy I did!…read moreBig thanks to Liz for accommodating us last minute. The massages were amazing and the perfect way to relax before hitting the pool. We had a great daybed, everything was clean and nice, and the weekend summer vibes were SO good! Great music, people dancing, and plenty of food options. Valet parking right out front was also a plus. Our server was super attentive and always made sure we were good. Definitely a fun summer spot I'll be back!

It was a 100 degree day and I thought it would be great to cool down at the pool, so I booked a…read morepool cabana at the Rockaway Hotel, which I had previously visited and found quite gorgeous. We arrived and they gave us a table directly in the sun with no shade. We asked for an umbrella and they told us all beach umbrellas were occupied. We were spending over a grand here and the whole point was to keep cool on this blistering day, so we found this odd. When one person in our group bristled and told the staff the literal definition of a cabana is a *shaded* lounging area, the manager told him "I could do without the attitude." Clearly they were stressed about how few umbrellas they had, but also why did they feel it was okay to sell us such a pricey table without one? The pool was tiny and cramped and full of kids and not as advertised at all. The food is alright-- I actually really enjoyed their tuna crispy rice, kale salad, and margaritas both times I've visited. The whole experience was overpriced and truly we could've done without the attitude from the staff.

I came here for the Secret Garden Art Festival not really knowing what to expect, but it was a way…read moreto integrate a little art into a normal beach day. The space is well put together, inside of a former Army church, surrounded by abandoned buildings, it's a really nice venue to view art in. It's been restored by not too much, it's still rustic. They offer beer, wine, and snacks, and were playing your standard electronic ambient music. For the most part I also really enjoyed the selections of pieces from artists they were showing. The main room has great acoustics and we got to see a cello player perform. The garden out back is a great space that's both part of the exhibit and a location to hang out in. There are old velvet couches sprinkled through the overgrowth, tiki torches and fairy lights highlighting both artwork, old mechanical equipment, and neglected garden decorations. If you go through the garden, around the back to where this massive hulking abandoned building is, you'll find a direct route to the beach too. Definitely worth stopping to take a look at if you're nearby.

She came up with the concept of rubber duckies as the theme which we then loved so much that we centered the entire shower around it. Also as a special gift she made us a beautiful diaper cake which we were able to display as a centerpiece on our dessert table. Would recommend her to everyone for any occasion. Amazing job!!
