Inside you have hundreds upon hundreds of packaged candies and snacks, as well as at least a hundred brands of bottled artisan or vintage sodas, plus fresh-made fudge, Dole whip, funnel cakes, and a whole menu of house-made BBQ. Then there are the souvenirs -- probably anything you can think of, from toys and knickknacks to t-shirts and cookie jars, pocket knives, and on and on and on. Go in alone, and you're coming out with at least a couple of things to eat; go in with kids, and you're coming out with lots of things to eat and at least one souvenir per kiddo. And why not? This is a place to have fun, to get some food and rest before heading back onto the road, and to remember for a long time to come. As others have said, the bathrooms need some updating, but the staff is friendly and helpful, and there's something special about getting to spend some time in a nostalgic place like this. Once a year Trader Joe's puts out a small tote bag and everyone rushes to buy them as though they are Birkin bags. I was looking for organic vegetables and Mary showed me how to find them by their labels. She was so sweet and courteous! Then Sheily another crew member took me to the refrigerated organic vegetables and pointed out which ones I was looking for and where they were located at. She was joking and making me laugh.
