My husband, daughter and I had the pleasure of dining at the Sun and Stars in August of last year while on a family camping trip to the area. We had stopped at various pubs for our tea on the way home from Legoland to our campsite but found that many of them were not child-friendly. The Sun and Stars couldn't have been more different; my 6 year old daughter was made to feel welcome from the outset. The manager (or owner, not sure which) made us adults feel very welcome too, chatting to us about our holiday and where we're from. The menu was extensive, with various vegetarian dishes on offer for me. There was no specific children's menu, they just did half portions of the main menu, but I personally found this better as i think it encourages children to try out new foods, and there was plenty to choose from. My husband and I had a 3 course meal (on one of their special offers) which was all completely delicious. We found the price very reasonable for down south, and the service was fantastic. This place doesn't look like much from the outside but I am so glad that we stopped here as it's one of the nicest eating out experiences we've ever had. The place was very busy so others must feel the same! read more
