A country pub (mostly for eating in) that serves lovely homemade food and some nice beer on tap too.
The first time I came here, we let them know in advance a vegan was on the way and they did the most amazing rosti-neapolitan with lentil gravy! Everyone was very jealous. It was an exceptional dish.
The second time we just turned up and received a light-hearted scolding from the chef for not calling in advance. And yet, he gave me three different options for a main meal! I went with the spelt tagliatelle with roasted butternut squash, fried sage, and extra grilled veggies. Very, very good.
Others in my party had their famous open pies, steaks, and bubble squeak that were all well received. The menu focuses on what they do best with daily specials. Great for a cozy lunch or dinner with the family. You may want to book on weekends. read more
