Really top-notch and not available at home! There was also enough selection of beers and ciders on tap that everyone could find something that went with their meal. Across the street is a super-cool brick and stone fence made with some of the local black and white spherical geode-like rocks that are all over the area in buildings (especially churches and other special buildings) and fences. They serve a good selection of traditional pub grub - I recall their beer battered fish and chips being particularly good - and have a fantastic beer garden which is perfect for a sunny day. The interior is deliberately quite shabby chic and there are no dingy corners in this pub! Since The Honeypot closed a few years ago The Red Lion is the only watering hole for a few miles and it does an excellent job of keeping thirsty locals and visitors supplied. You'll find a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and a good solid traditional English pub.
