This store has a lot of positive reviews, which is why we picked it for my fiance's suit for our wedding. Based on my experience, I can't recommend this place if you need a suit by a specific date. We had a fine experience shopping for the suit. It was quick and easy. Our salesperson set the pickup date as the latest possible date before our wedding, today, 5/10. We were told we could pick up the suit this morning, but to call first. We called as soon as the store opened at 10am. No one picked up for 45 minutes. When they finally picked up, they couldn't find the suit. Eventually, they found it and said they hadn't started working on it, but they would make it a priority and we could come get it at 6pm. We got there at 6pm on the dot. They STILL hadn't started working on it. The store closes at 7pm. They started working on the suit around 6:30pm. We left the store close to 9pm. The employees were all visibly upset they had to stay late and it was mostly directed toward us. Working retail sucks--I've been there--but in this scenario there was nothing that could have been done differently on my end as a customer. They asked us multiple times if we called (we did), as if it was our fault. Two of them kept giving me dirty looks and interrogating me about my travel plans, why I needed the suit tonight, etc. It was very uncomfortable! At no point did I disrespect anyone in the store--I simply firmly reiterated several times that we needed the suit on the agreed upon date because we will not be in the city starting tomorrow. The only reason I kept reiterating this is because they would not stop asking us to come back tomorrow, even after we'd been waiting an hour. As we were leaving they guilted us again about making the tailor and everyone else stay late, as if we chose this and wanted to spend 3 hours the night before traveling waiting for something we thought would be ready at 10am. At no point was an explanation offered. We saw several people pick up suits while we waited. When we finally got the suit, we saw the date tag clearly said 5/9--the day before it was due for pickup. If we waited til tomorrow, which we couldn't anyway, I'm 100% certain the experience would have been the same. It's a busy time of year, mistakes happen, and sometimes things fall through the cracks. The least that can be done in that case is to try to work with the customer and help them understand what's going on, and make sure they leave with a product they're happy with. By the time my fiance got the suit, the employees were being so passive aggressive that there was no way to even say anything about the fit being off, we just wanted to get out. We spent almost $500 for this experience. I would go to Men's Warehouse across the street next time. read more

I've been to this store a few times when they were called Tates, and I loved the service then. Especially with Barry being a staple there. After rebranding to The Suit Store, they are better than ever! Let me explain. I was invited to an event that, less than 24 hours ago, I was grossly unprepared for. No suit, no tie, nothing. I decided to take a leap of faith and ran to the Suit Store with a very limited budget and even less time on the clock. After working with Barry a few times in the past, with fantastic results, I got a chance to work with Syed. Syed clearly dressed like he was born to make anyone look good in a suit, and he definitely made that happen for me in record time. Twenty five minutes, to be exact. And there's this family vibe that you get from Syed and Barry, as well as Jesus and the rest of the guys. You'll leave the Suit Store feeling like you should buy them a round of beers afterwards. Instead of the beers, I'll just write this review instead, since I don't drink beer. One thing I've noticed, was that each guy has their own style that influences your overall look. So, you should work with the guy that has the look you're going for or a matching body type. I'll stick with Syed and Barry, personally, but that whole store is loaded with fashionably talented guys. The price was right but my suit was not tailored on time. I had to drive into the city.. find a spot and when I got there it was not ready. I came a day later amd it still was not ready. When I went to pick it up I had to purchase another item so I asked if it could be discounted for my in trouble. of coming in 2x on the same day. I will NEVER GO BACK! I would rather pay a few more dollars for better customer service and for my suit to be ready on the set date requested. Everytime I have. Purchased a suit at other locations. The employee helps with shirt and tie combinations( that's usually what I need help with most) . I was left to weed through 100 different Combinations without any assistance. The Suit Store was the first stop, b/c it was roughly in the center of my list by location, and I found loading zone parking right in front of the shop. I was greeted by a gentleman named Elliot. I told him I needed a suit and what color; he measured me with his eyes, and in 30 seconds I had a suit jacket on, and it fit perfect. In under 5 minutes I had tried the pants, and they were marked for alteration. I was so impressed with the service, price and Elliot, whom I discovered had 50 years' experience, that I decided to buy a second suit, two shirts, two ties, socks and a belt, deferring all the style, color and coordination decisions to the master tradesman Elliot. The alterations will be ready in 13 days, I am excited to experience the final result and parade these fine suits I have purchased. I will update on the final results.
