The staff was very patient with me and offered excellent advice on choice of frame, mounting style, and matt color. They copied and printed the back of the Barlach print and attached the copy to the back of the framed picture. Also attached: the Museum Glass sticker, which is super helpful in the event I or my heirs wish to sell the print. The jobs they have done for me have been nothing short of exceptional. One matt required a curved cut, which was performed perfectly. I highly recommend The Drawing Board to anyone looking for a top notch framing job.

fairly miserable experience. went in to buy a frame and matting prepared to spend as much as it…read moretook and to be a repeat customer since i have prints regularly to frame. clerk was fairly short w me and showed me a selection of ready made frames, i asked if they had larger frames she said no. she didnt offer the framing desk. i could see they clearly made frames and had to push to ask what process was to frame. she said it was an appt process and i couldnt schedule now w person behind framing desk, so i said ok id schedule online. her friend came in directly after me and asked if they had larger frames and she then directed her and walked her back to the framing desk to speak to the clerk she had just said i couldnt speak to and they brought out several large frames- one exactly like i was looking for- and then put a few on hold saying shed only get one. i was still standing right there and she did all this in front of me. she didnt acknowledge or apologize that shed done several favors for her friend in front of me that id just asked for as a new customer. so it was just weirdly rude on several levels. the framing person was nice enough to apologize because i spoke to her after the clerk left, but said there was nothing she could do. really really weird experience and im not inclined to return based on how rude that whole exchange was.

I recently attempted to purchase a large amount of materials for an upcoming exhibit, planning to…read morespend a budget of millions. Instead of purchasing online or from a bigbox art retailer I opted to visit Black Horse, as they are one of few remaining independent art stores in the area. I arrived at the shop 45 minutes after opening as I am on strict time contraints at all time, I have to work out of efficiency. But when I arrived the shop keeper told me that I had to be quick or come back at a later point in the day. His excuse was that he had to remove his car from the snow. But mind you this was around 11AM, and this shop keeper should not be dealing with personal matters during business hours. Regardless I told him that I needed quite a bit of material and he informed me that I still should be fast, go back later, or visit another retailer. He should have seen my desire to spend a money in his shop as a means of paying for his snow removal. Unfortunately he rushed me out of there. This put a stick in the wheel of my entire exhibit's time table, as I had to travel a great distance of time waiting for an online order. All I have to say is that I will never be taking my money to this business, nor will I be recommending this business to anyone ever. Shame on this place, and the shop keeper I dealt with, the customer should always come first.

The minute I walked in the door, I knew I had found my art supply shop. After checking out all of the box stores, as can be the initial go-to when re-orienting in a new town, I was feeling a bit let down. I mean, here is this beautiful city saturated with artists and all I could find was overpriced canvas and incomplete color offerings. I knew there had to be something better and after some more digging, I came across this little shop on Pine Street. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable about all things 'art'. As an active member in the artist community, he is totally in-tune with local events and if you do happen to stump him with a question, he can point you in the right direction. I feel lucky to have found a place to go when the creativity strikes and happy to share it with new and seasoned artists alike.

What a great concept to increase sales with puzzles and promote framing to preserve a piece of art you reassembled. Or should I say, pieces of toil, concentration, frustration, AH HA moments, early morning coffee, late evening red eyed sessions, to 10 minutes "work from home" breaks that easily clocked 30 minutes and maybe more (I won't tell). The shop is classic industrial period Main Street, prior history unknown. The shop, framing Mecca. The puzzles and selection of arts and crafts impressively displayed for browsing. We found two Winter puzzles to gift others in the family. Our own Winter subject still in deliberation. Despite, we asked for a business card and proudly made our purchase. Today's first morning frost on our grass reminded me of two important tasks: Order our puzzle and to finally share our experience at the Village Frame Shoppe & Gallery (of puzzles).
