Though some artists are very expensive, they always have a ton of stuff that is really affordable, as well. I'm always able to find something at my desired price point for the day. I never mind spending a little more because everything is made by local Vermont artists, and makes for much nicer gifts than generic tourist trap type things. I also found that there is evidence that puzzle solving is good for your brain. So I started looking around for places to purchase Jigsaw puzzles online. A lot of companies had either closed down operations - or were flat out of puzzles. I found Vermont Christmas Co. and ordered some of their puzzles - and started working on them. And to help a lot of my friends through the Pandemic - I sent a lot of friends surprise gifts of Jigsaw puzzles. Everyone loved it - and I'd like to think I got a lot of folks going on puzzles - after the initial barrage I purchased for them. And then this past Christmas 2020 season - I purchased Christmas themed Jigsaw puzzles as Christmas gifts for a lot of friends. Again, folks really got into it! During this year of Covid-19, my family and I have been looking for things to do. Puzzles seem to…read morebe the most interesting and entertaining indoor thing and we've done a lot of them since the beginning of this house-bound mess. Almost all puzzles have been disappointing because when you get close to the end, you can tell there will be missing pieces. THIS company, is the only one out of so many that we've worked with, is the ONLY one that will replace missing pieces! They are SO nice! I had to call once because I didn't send the the information correctly, but once I did, a few weeks later, they actually found the piece I needed (out of 1000 piece puzzle!!!) and mailed it to me. It's hard to believe. They have someone look through all the pieces of a particular puzzle and find yours. Can you imagine customer service this good? I'm blown away. I thought maybe it was just something nice a company will say, but not do. Nope, I received the piece in the mail yesterday, could hardly wait to see if it fit and, golly it DID!!! Now I'm going to glue this puzzle and hope to put it up on the wall. By the way - their puzzles really aren't all Christmas - they have a large variety. Thank heaven, no more missing pieces for me! The place was actually bigger inside than I had thought so. On the right side from the entrance, is where all the cute knickknacks are found--toys, mugs, cards, stuffed animals and birds, children's books, posters, and the like. On the left side is where a lot of more fragile merchandise is found-- glass orbs, ceramic ware, pottery, sun catchers, Vermont products and souvenirs, etc. At the back part is a whole clothing section where you can find souvenir shirts and sweaters, a wall of Crocs, and a variety of Minnetonka moccasins. And of course, green frog toys in all forms are also sold here. Stuff sold here can be found elsewhere I'm sure. But, this makes for a good stop in case you are lacking time to shop around and are already headed out for the ferry.

This is the worst place to work as directives change on a regular basis due to unstable store management. In less than 3 years there were 5 different store managers with the last being hired from outside Michael's network after making it clear that they hire from within. The current store management creates an intimidating, bullying, threatening atmosphere which also includes name calling and hand crushing hand shakes upon initial meeting. There is also favoritism involved with some underhanded tactics. No one dares talking about it for fear of losing their position. In addition, you are expected to work holidays and weekend without differential pay or even a show of appreciation.
