Must Love Yarn is a big open space, with lots to look at. In the front of the store there is an excellent selection of yarns, often with knitted samples. There was also an excellent section of accessories, including pewter sweater pins that were small works of art. While browsing, I also noticed a big open space in the back with a circle of comfortable chairs for hosting knitting and fiber gatherings! The woman working the store could not have been nicer!

Let's start with a disclaimer - our stay happened during the Spring off-off-off season…read more Our condo was clean, nice, and well-appointed. Almost everything was in good working order. We had a full kitchen, two bedrooms, and two bathrooms. Our bed was very comfortable. As dawn comes early this time of year (full light at 5 a.m.), we had both blackout blinds and drapes on the windows. The place was equipped with an Asko washer and dryer, which were very confusing to use. We never did get the dryer fully figured out. There was a large, jetted tub in our unit that took forever to fill and was noisy in use. The AC unit in our room was also noisy. As we were there during the off-season, the onsite restaurants were closed and wouldn't open for another couple of weeks. Which meant driving to get food. We stopped at a Hannaford grocery store in Burlington for breakfast foods before driving to the resort, but that left lunch and dinner. Of the nearest places to eat, one was closed on Monday and Tuesday, and was only open for brunch on Sunday. For recreation, the pool was open while we were there. It's heated and so was usable on chilly days. Do I recommend this place? The price was reasonable and the accommodations OK. I don't ski, so I can't speak to how the place is during that season. If you need a "home base" for wandering and don't mind the off-season inconveniences, Smugg's is a decent choice.

We did not get pressured into a 2 hour presentation though it was mentioned. No Monday morning call inviting you to a presentation. We were in the off season point so not much open. Country store on site worked. Pricey as one would expect. Pizza place on site would not use. I would go to the one just down 108. Did not eat at Hearth and Candle. Had a dinner at Morse Mountain Grille. For what we ordered expensive. It was about $60 for burgers, fries and one beer plus the tip. Food was good but not worth that price. Option go off site and probably spend a bit less but give up time for travel. Two close options brewery and pizza resteraunt about 5 mins drive. We were in the Willows unit 2. No elevators so if you have a good amount of luggage and other things. Plan for it from car to room and room to car. It was a two bedroom. Gas Fireplace. It was clean. Everything worked. No central air but wall units. We never needed to utilize so cannot speak to how they worked if it was hot. Window treatment worked well. Window crank system worked. All windows in living area open easily. Nice breeze. King size bed that was comfortable. The shower system worked well. The living area was great. The windows provided a panoramic view of the trees and some of the mountain side. The road system from the time you enter is all dirt. So at certain wet times it will be muddy. We did not have rain while we were there. You need to drive to many things. If you enjoy walking a number of excellent trails. The unit we had was at ground level. There is a small deck and we had a picnic table off the deck. Small charcoal grille. The interior is dated but it was ok. The fall colors had not yet started but I can only imagine what it would be like. With all this said we would return but time it for later in September to experience color change.

I want to preface this by pointing out that I am not at all- in any way, shape, or form (see what I…read moredid there)-artistic! And you know what, I am fine with that. So, when the opportunity arose to test out "A Taste of Art" I jumped at it. I wanted to see just how far I could push my lack of talent and see what results would be gathered from the experience. I attended a Paint and Sip evening at Butch + Babe's restaurant in Burlington. Upon walking in, the first thing I noticed was the intimate size of the space and that there were a few too-many-tables-to-count set up in the far right side of the restaurant for the paint event. Aside from that, I also observed a confident presence. Standing at the head of the table was a warm, eager looking lady whom I later came to learn was Sue herself! Sue had already taken the time to set up each one of our canvases, paint dollops, brushes, water, and even aprons! Though the space was a bit tight, I really felt that we had adequate room to maneuver our inner artists! Sue began the sessions by telling us a tiny bit about herself and her business. She then showed us the painting we would use as a guide and gently began to introduce us into the world of painting. I found Sue to be quite instructional and pleasant. Though she was at the very front of the space, she took the time to really engage with all of us on an individual basis. She did her best to accommodate our random artistic whims and really worked with individuals to guide them in adding character to their paintings. Sue is real, relate able, and has a calm, soothing way about her. She is very passionate about what she does and she wants to share it with the world. So go on, go hang out with Sue; bring out the artist within!

At both events Sue walked us all thru a painting (the sunflowers and the snowman if you review the photos - note - those aren't my photos!) With the exception of the art credit I need for my electives, I tend to be more a spreadsheet kinda girl verses creative.... Sue can make anyone an artist! Trust me a little wine helps with any nerves you might have too! Both results were fantastic and I have them hanging proudly on my wall. If you want a fun night out with friends that isn't your normal dinner and drinks, try one of Sue's events!

It was a life long dream of mine to learn how to horseback ride but for many years it was something that I never thought that I could do. After a conversation with Lotta followed by my first lesson, I began a path on the most rewarding endeavor. Lotta helped me to address any reservations and fears that I had right from the beginning. I appreciate Lotta's instruction because she helps me as the rider understand the horse's perspective and how to build a foundation of trust. Lotta has a gift for teaching. She is emphatic, has a great sense of humor, and also knows when a rider needs to be challenged to break through to the next level. As a beginning adult rider, NMR has offered me a place to examine and grow my self-confidence, communication, and leadership skills through the horse and rider relationship. More than a year later, I am still so excited about this new found passion of horseback riding and always enjoy my time there! I must also mention that NMR is located in the most beautiful setting that offers beautiful trails and a ring situated in a scenic valley alongside the Huntington River. Lotta and the rest of the NMR crew (Hollister and Clara) are always welcoming, kind, and together offer a wealth of knowledge. They then followed up with me to make sure the plexi was the right size which I had been worried about and offered to provide a free cut at no charge if I needed it. Not used to customer service like this and it's awesome!
