Two days before the appointment, got a call from Peggy saying she was cancelling the appointment. Telling me she was the only person who could do up do. So glad she called me at lunch while I was out with 5 other work colleagues as they took note of where never to book due to an unreliability to deliver on their appointments. In the end, we found a much better place who had a prom specific for hair and make-up. This place should get more reliable workers who don't make up lies why they are cancelling appointments. Would not waste your time booking appointments for the cost this place charges. Much better places around town with more update facilities.

If there is one word to be used to describe this salon, it is a very SPECIAL place and staffed by very SPECIAL people! I wholeheartedly recommend Studio 35, and assure you that it is a SPECIAL treat to be going there!! March 24, 2018 This is an update to my original review in 2014 of Studio 35 Salon in Newtown, PA. There are many beauty salons around, however, the real test is how much skill, talent, and knowledge does a stylist possess? There are not many who have the expertise of Carol Kelly Daversa, Co-owner of her awesome salon. I have been going there for almost 4 years and could never find a better, more skilled stylist than Carole. In addition to her work which is consistently excellent, Carole is a very gracious and precious friend. She is even-tempered and a very calming person. I have been to salons where there was not even one person who was capable in any way of styling and cutting hair or had the expertise shown by Carole! I am a very lucky person to be her client! I spent part of a lovely gray Saturday morning at Sharon Brown Highly Recommended salon in Newtown…read more(Bucks County). First, a word about parking: I have a bad back and some difficulty walking any distance. I was concerned about where I'd park because Newtown boro isn't exactly known for its wealth of convenient, store-adjacent parking. But there is a small parking lot just below the salon that has about ten spots, including handicapped spots. From there it was just a quick walk up the sidewalk and into the alleyway to the salon ... perfect! Now for the experience itself. I have a mane of thick, curly hair that sorely needs cutting and styling. The night before, however, I'd decided on the spur of the moment that it would be a real treat just to get my hair professionally washed, blown dry, and flat ironed. I was searching through area salons on Google and noticed that Sharon Brown's accepts online appointment bookings! So at 10 pm on a Friday evening, I was able to book an appointment for 10:15 on Saturday morning. Score! That's definitely a service that more businesses should offer. The salon itself is bright, cheery, and unassuming. There is a main level, where I was, and there is also an upstairs loft. There's a big window in the front that lets a lot of natural light in even on a gray day, and there were slightly kitschy Easter egg decorations on the mirror at each station. You'd never feel as though you had to "dress" up a notch to spend your money here (unlike some other salons in our town). I was greeted with a big hello and smile by everyone whose path I crossed on my way to the reception desk; then I was introduced to my stylist, and taken right back for my shampoo. No waiting, I was taken right on time. My shampoo was fine; they used nice-smelling products that didn't seem to either strip my hair or weigh it down with too much conditioning gook. The shampoo chair-to-sink fit could've been a little better for a taller person like me, but it wasn't a big deal. My stylist asked me what I wanted done; I was a little surprised that I was being given an option, given that I'd specified my service when I'd made my online reservation. My stylist was nicely chatty vs unbearably talkative and over-sharing. She blew my hair dry without incident and flat ironed it. When she was finished, I was totally relaxed and my hair looked fabulous! It still needs a good cutting, but a professional styling by someone who knows what she's doing can work wonders! I gave my experience 4 stars rather than 5 because my impromptu blow-dry-and-flat-iron treat cost me $55, including the tip. I just thought that was a little pricey for that particular service; you may disagree. It was probably a little more than average due to the length and volume of my hair. If we could allocate partial stars, my rating would've actually been a 4.5. But I just wanted to provide a heads-up. Final verdict: Sharon Brown Highly Recommended IS highly recommended!

She is superb, an artist. Yes, the services are expensive and for me: totally money very well spent. I receive partial highlights about twice a year. Kelly has never attempted to "sell" me on additional services. In fact, she has encouraged me NOT to highlight that often and instructed on the proper method to maintain the highlights. Her expertise in cutting is beyond what I have received in the past: I have had my hair cut in Paris (David Mallett), New York City-(Ric Pipino, Heidi Klum's ex-husband) and in Greenwich Connecticut-just some places and all very high end. The David Witchell salon and Kelly are outstanding and just as good, if not better than I've experienced before. Every cut that I've had (Kelly) grows in so well. The true sign of a great cut is how well your hair looks in the 6th week (yes, I can go that long between cuts!). I am often asked by strangers, where I get my hair done-always a compliment. Regarding the reviews about the front desk-I have not experienced rudeness at all. I note that many of the reviews about front desk attitude, occurred around Covid times, so maybe folks were on edge about that? I give folks the benefit of the doubt and a lot of grace. But that's just me :) Overall, this place is a gem.
