I've worked alongside Paul at many events, and I honestly cannot say enough good things about him,…read moreand what he brings to the table via his business, Elmwood Village Entertainment. First off, he's a true renaissance man; an individual of many talents, creative abilities, and a genuine humility that makes you think it's all just second nature to him. Second, his level of professionalism is unequaled. Always punctual, always prepared, always ready to provide the highest levels of service. Third - just have a conversation with him. Again, he exudes confidence, energy, and humility. A genuinely good guy! When he's spinning tracks, the entertainment doesn't break. Dance floors are filled, and the event is bumpin'! His musical selections are almost instinctive for the gathering, and the songs flow from one, to the next. Yeah, he's that good. I know a lot of good DJ's. I know a few great ones. Elmwood Village Entertainment doesn't have to be your first call, but do not hire a DJ in Buffalo without talking to Paul first!

Paul was incredibly professional and accommodating and a true professional at his job. I would not hesitate to have Paul (DJ Rock) / Elmwood Village Entertainment to host your wedding, event, etc. Where to start? 1) He arrived incredibly early to setup, loaded a lot of equipment and tested the sound. 2) He ran with the script we gave him and acted as a great MC throughout the night. 3) He was kind, professional and on top of it all. I wouldn't hesitate to have Paul host any future events and I'm glad I found him! Highly recommended if you're looking for a DJ or MC!

The museum was fantastic, truly a hidden gem and full of lots of local music history. George Scott, the president of the museum, gave us a tour and he shared incredible stories that really brought the history into modern day context. There are several exhibits, including: - a timeline that follows the evolution of American music. Each genre is associated with a time period and has a number, which can be punched into a sound stick so you can hear songs from that era. This exhibit would be interesting to both children and adults. - Buffalo connection to many nationally known musicians - History of the Local 533 union (American Federation of Musicians), who started the Colored Musicians Club. - interactive sound recording studio stations - an interactive band exhibit - and more! I can't say enough great things about how interesting this museum is, and I can't believe how many nationally recognized musicians had a Buffalo connection. I highly recommend the museum, and I actually would love to go back so I could spend more time with the interactive exhibits. It's great for all ages. That's also, for what it is worth, been my experience at Music City Buffalo. I went in there originally for voice and guitar lessons after getting frustrated with my lack of progress on my own. The lessons--particularly voice lessons with Carina, store owner Vince Mastrantonio's partner--were helpful, and built a relationship that made me trust them enough to buy instruments (people in the business can be kind of shady, and so this is important to me). Vince will work with you (within reason, of course) on prices, and I've now picked up three guitars from MCB. (If you are a Gretsch fan, there is hardly a reason to go anyplace else.) I've also had my upright bass set up there, picked up a used amp, have another guitar repair planned, and will be back for guitar lessons with Vince--an accomplished guitarist himself, which is always a bonus in a teacher--likely this summer. I've always been happy with the turnover, the pricing on purchases and repairs, and the quality of the work. We've also taken to seeing their three-piece jazz-noir band, Carina and the Six-string Preacher, around town. They're cool people who like engaging with the crowd, and I think that's a good way to sum up Music City Buffalo as well.

They blamed it on a "glitch" that was causing stock to be displayed incorrectly on Reverb. However, upon checking the store website the next day and several days after, the same pre-owned instrument remained available for purchase at a higher price on their own website. About a month later I decided to give Reverb sellers another shot when my local market was coming up dry for a budget Jaguar. I accepted a seller offer on one of them because I liked the price and color. Unfortunately, I took the offer before I noticed the seller was The Guitar Factory--the culprit behind my previous abandonment of Reverb. It has yet to be packed, and it was supposed to be shipped 3 days ago. I messaged them 4 days ago to inquire about the shipping timeline and was assured it was "in the queue to be shipped and will go out in the next 24 hours." Or so Matt said. Spoiler alert: that did not happen. I've received no communication about the delay or about any expected timeline. I can tell no shipping label has even been initiated for my home address at this point, and I am having to escalate a dispute with Reverb yet again. This shop might be the most amazing brick and mortar store on the planet. I don't know. But if you're trying to purchase from them online in any fashion, buyer beware. It doesn't get any worse than The Guitar Factory in my experience. Avoid at all costs.
