Heads up folks, they don't season the meat unless you all for it to be seasoned! The owner/manager was beyond rude! Told us that if don't have the money to pay we should not have come in, and told us to just leave. We left money on the table to pay for the other 2 meals that were eaten. We don't have a problem paying for our food, we have a problem with unseasoned meat that is over priced and tough. ($48 for a filet mignon) The owner took our steaks away, after 1 bite on one of the steaks and offered to give us 25% off, didn't offer to remake them, just took them away. It used to be a nice place, but that was the worst experience we have ever had. I don't think we will be back after that horrifyingly awful manager/owner and her overly rude comment. So the make over is great. The music on Sunday's is way too loud. The salad bar is sparse, some fake crab, dressings in cheap pour bottles. The mandatory buffet at $28.98 would be a bargain if they had a good cook or a chef. They must have put out the trays at 10 when they opened and when we came in at 12:15 the pancakes, the Benedict couldn't be cut with a steak knife. The prime rib was not available rare and could not have been any thinner. The prime rib and the ribs were so salty as to be almost inedible. What was left of the eggs had obviously been there over an hour. The sausage and bacon were dried out. The wait staff were friendly and it is a shame. They suffer from a cook with no taste and an owner who needs hearing aids. I hope before the word of mouth kills them that they get a cook who can cook or a consultation with a quality chef and rethink the music. Prime rib should be 1/2 inch minimum. Ribs should never be oversalted, and only make small amounts of foods for a buffet, replace items every half hour. read more

This was amazing. They have a large, great tasting salad bar. Shared a salad with my best friend, it was the best one I had ever tasted in my life. The waitresses were all really sweet, and the food was amazing. I give it 10 stars! read more

We went last night at 5pm and had a reservation. We sat right down and ordered drinks. It took 45 minutes for appetizers and when we got up to find a waitress and mentioned our concerns about food timing they got very defensive. They said an hour is normal to wait. We waited longer and finally mentioned it again. There was plenty of staff also. They never offered to comp anything and finally said they would not serve us. So we left. We were polite but they just kept telling us we were unrealistic basically. It's too bad, but we will never go back needlessly to say. read more

Tried it last night for the first.....and last time. We walked out after an hour and 20 mins of waiting for our food. It wasn't even that busy, the front of house manager kept telling everyone that the "kitchen was backed up" but kept offering appetizers to help with the wait. The kitchen is backed up so let's back it up further with appetizers? Asked if we could at least get our salads and were told to help our selves at the 12ft salad bar, which looked like a herd of cows had grazed upon. We were given "table bread" which was below average at best. We left our waitress a tip as we walked out because she was very nice and obviously embarrassed by all the issues. Other guests were obviously upset and a few complaining of cold entrees and appetizers. Its a shame because that is such a cool building with a beautiful old bar and outside area. read more

Nice menu, service, and establishment. First, we ordered the calamari appetizer. Good! Then, my husband ordered the Filet Mignon, which included a choice of a side and salad bar. He ordered medium rare and the filet was perfectly cooked. He liked it better than Charlie Clarks, which is another good restaurant in the White Mountain area. I ordered the Citrus Salmon with Jasmine rice, which also included a side - I chose asparagus which some restaurants tend to overcook but not a problem at the Stockyard. I thought the Jasmine rice was okay. The choices at the salad bar appealing and made for a yummy salad. The ambiance has changed from when it was once the Hungry Buffalo, so don't compare. You can arrive casual but the menu and establishment is more refined but not stuffy. (No chicken strips that I saw for the kiddies that I saw.) Outdoors was a live band and people dancing. My husband I will be returning for more good food. I noticed there were some bad reviews and we almost didn't give it try but were glad we did. We hope the community and tourists will give this restaurant a try. It's worth your support. read more

Bad service waited 20 minutes just to get a drink, had no menus and when we did order we didn't know the price of the food we ordered, ordered two of the same steaks got two different stakes one was not even cooked. waited over 30 minutes just to get my bill. read more

Missing the Hungry Buffalo something fierce. Service was terrible. Felt like an inconvenience to the server. The menu is confusing as it's inconsistent. Certain items tell you it comes with one side, and others say nothing - just the main dish. Then to our surprise - our dishes came with mashed potatoes and we had ordered a side thinking the main dish came with nothing. The server said nothing when we ordered. The salad bar is 12' sure, but who cares. It's just a typical salad bar, nothing extravagant. We had to ask for bread for the table, even though it comes with it - and we had to ask for more because it came with 3 pieces and we had 7 of us. Again, lack of care from the server. The food was good when it came out, but the experience made us not want to go back. And it seems like that is the tune of the town, because Hungry Buffalo was always jamming with the locals and this place was DEAD on a Thursday evening. Something has to change here or Stockyard isn't going to last. There is potential - and opportunity- if they listen to the historical customers! read more

Service Service and Service!! No one likes to have to hunt for their server. That is the whole point of a tip. Service was so poor it was recommended that I order easy prep bar food opposed to waiting a hour for steak. Totally unimpressed! read more

We went on last night for dinner, Saturday, July 5 and had a very disappointing experience. We were immediately shown to a table, which was nice. The restaurant was not full and there wasn't a wait. However, that was probably the best part about the whole experience. The shrimp cocktail was the first disappointment, it took a good 30 minutes to be served and it was not jumbo shrimp as the menu listed and the cocktail sauce was watery like soup with a very unpleasant flavor. We did not get bread that was listed on the menu that as part of our meal and we were supposed to have a choice of soup or salad, but salad was all that was available . Our first entree was served about an hour after we ordered. My entree took another 10 minutes to arrive. I ordered a top sirloin that was cooked to temperature that was a plus however it was tough as any cheap steak I've ever bought. I was barely able to cut it with my knife. The server offered to comp my meal which was appreciated. However, the manager was cooking on the line and it took I don't know 15 minutes before we were able to pay for our bill. We saw multiple groups of people leave. The hostess wasn't there or she was clearing tables. They need more staff and better trained staff to provide a better experience for their customers. read more
