Overall, the terrain was a little more advanced but had a few short trails for beginners. Several long blue runs and a few groomed black runs in addition to many more difficult mogul black runs. Lots of glades areas if that is your cup of tea. The resort was big enough that you had plenty to explore for a few days and also if you went with a group it wasn't so huge that it was impossible to meet up or find friends if you took an accidental detour. We opted for a package and it was reasonable. We chose to stay at the golf cottages which were perfect for our group, and could get around the resort with their shuttle system. There was a movie theater, bowling alley, climbing wall, mini golf as well as general store, bars and restaurants on site. If you buy a package some of the activities might be included in your price. If you want to eat off site there are a few restaurants about 15 minutes away. It was nice that they had so many things to do because this resort is in a pretty remote area and there isn't a ton around in the near vicinity.

More than 100 teenage hockey players were yelling in the halls and at the pool, and I saw little supervision. Some parents appeared extremely intoxicated. I was threatened by a hockey player's parent after asking who was supervising the teens. I also witnessed a physical altercation involving a hockey parent and security. We reported our concerns, but the situation did not improve. I would expect better supervision and a prompt response to guest safety concerns.

The night before we left, I got a message that the inn is no longer available. Kate wouldn't return my calls, just sent an email. This is incredibly unprofessional, and I was left scrambling at the last minute to try and find housing for 14 people the night before our trip. I did find housing, 50 minutes away, which is the only reason I am leaving two stars instead of one. Very upset. I won't be trying to stay here again. Heed this warning if you want reliable housing.

We are talking snow fall amounts like you havent seen before unless you are from Buffalo or live by the Northwest Passage. The trail system is well laid out and extensive. Most of the snowshoe trails run along groomed cross country ski trails, so you have the option to walk on the groomed portion or in the woods. There are no amenities around the trail so you have to be self sufficient. There is a small warming hut where you purchase your ticket, but that is it. Also the trails start at the top of a large hill which is only semi maintained. A 4wd/AWD car or snow tires is recommended.

I bang on the door a couple times and a woman who I called half an hour ago answered in her extra short, little robe. It's freezing outside so the only reasonable place where I can fill out paperwork is in her apartment, So she invites me in. At this point I was looking around for cameras because it was starting to feel like the beginning of an goofy 80's movie. Attractive women do NOT answer their doors in slinky robes and invite ME inside!! I told the gal how strange I thought this was but it seemed pretty normal here. I put a name, an address and a phone number on a piece of paper, she doesn't even bother to ask for my ID. I pay $50 cash and she hands me the key. She shows me to my room, shows me the basement and the sauna and wishes me a good night. Says I'm welcome to look around and explore. I'm traveling alone but she put me in a room that could easily hold 5. Half the rooms have open doors. I wander up to the second floor and see that most of the doors are open up there too. The front door isn't locked, I could have walked in, found a room I liked, locked the door and called it a night. She would never have known. I'm convinced that carfulls of penniless ski bums do that all the time. Arrive at 11:00 or midnight. Tiptoe up to the second floor and crash for the night. Take a shower and get up and out early and the only person that might ever realize it would be the housekeeper. Crazy. The restrooms and showers are dorm style, down the hall. I couldn't get any wifi and there was no info about wifi in the room. Maybe they don't have it. Strangely, there also weren't any heater controls in the room but it stayed comfortably warm anyhow. The sauna works great. Don't think they serve food anymore. It was a fun, odd, loosey goosey place to stay for a business traveler.

It's a really nice fit for a certain type of customer, after reading dozens of reviews we booked and I went in optimistic but unsure if we would go again. Our 3 and 8 year old daughters loved the daily programming 8:30-1:30 then 5:30-8:30. We ate all of our meals separately from our children. I mostly slept in and sat by the pool while my kids were in program. Others golfed, played tennis, sailed, played pickleball, water aerobics etc. My favorite part were the evening 'booze cruises' we went on two. We also opted on for family photos which were excellent. These items as well as laundry service, alcoholic beverages and nighttime childcare was not included but when we checked out our final bill was less that I expected. My kids went rock climbing, rode a pony, went on pirate cruises, crafted and got lots of time in the water. My daughter turned 4 on the trip, which was fun and very special. The accommodations were great, small and tidy but all we needed. We spent very little time in our unit. Food was solidly good- my husband is on a strict diet. Pescatarian/vegetarian and there were so many choices for him. Bring 2x the sunscreen and bug spray you think you may need. Pack your passports- one day we went on a quick trip to Canada for lunch and some duty free shopping. The family that owns TP works here. It's been around since 1933. The staff is from all over the world. Lots of interesting and fun families from the US and beyond. We asked to change our week and hope we can get in for 2024.
