A one-of-a-kind experience in Chicago!…read more While visiting Chicago from out of town, I was lucky enough to discover Aire Ancient Baths, and it was easily a highlight of my trip. It feels like a speakeasy or a well-kept secret: there's no signage outside, so you almost have to know it's there. Even better, they're open until 11:30 PM, which made it a perfect late-night escape after a full day of exploring. Reservations are required, so be sure to book ahead. I did the 90-minute session and tried all of the different pools and spa experiences, from the salt room to the steam room, cold plunge, and the saltwater bath. Every stage was unique and incredibly relaxing, and the whole atmosphere is calm, candlelit, and unlike anywhere else I've been. I had a wonderful time and left feeling completely refreshed. Highly recommend for locals and visitors alike. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town!

Showed up and it was closed due to construction issues with the city. I received no email or phone call that it would be closed. Very embarrassing. I've called over 6x asking asking for a refund $720. Each time I've called it the same response "sorry someone from our management team will call you back". Nobody ever calls me back. I disputed the issue with my credit card company and AIRE responded to them saying that the service was complete forcing me to open another investigation with the city and having to look in legal counsel to take them to court. I am beyond frustrated. Never thought this is how they would do business. Apart of me feels that they lost so much business during the time they were "under construction" that they can't afford to keep the lights on let alone issue a refund. I would stay away.

This is a review specifically for their manicure and pedicure service…read more I love the hotel & have stayed here many times. This time, I decided to schedule a mani & pedi at the end of my week stay as an added treat. When I tell you that I was shocked by my experience here, I mean it. There was nothing luxurious about this at all. And these are absolute top-tier prices for their services. They took me down the stairs after I checked in and I waited in this dark area as people were randomly walking back and forth from the pool area. A woman escorted me into this insanely small room (it looks like a closet) where there were 2 pedicure chairs right next to each other then 2 manicure stations across from that. I truly was shocked. I wanted to leave. Their website and spa detail information is so insanely misleading. This small room they cram you into has no windows, and is at the end of a dark hall. Forget that we are still dealing with the pandemic and there is zero social distancing. The two nail techs that were working were lovely but so obviously under appreciated & overworked. Which is beyond sad. My pedicure was ok but my manicure was the worst I've ever received. I wanted a French tip and the tech haphazardly painted each tip with a regular brush. Not one was the same. I also walked out and came right back to get some nail polish remover to clean up my own hands as I had white polish all over my skin. Just insane. The receptionist was appalled when I showed her my nails so she said she would take it off my bill ($65) was removed but I still paid over $150 plus tip for my mani and pedi. In my personal option, they should close down the manicure and pedicure options of the spa. It is not a luxury, high end experience. Quite the opposite. This was not a great way to end our stay here & it put such a bad taste in my mouth. I won't ever come back to the spa for any service at all.

I was greeted very warmly, pleasantly and professionally by Molly. Then I was transferred over to spa professional Tichina. She was very warm, bubbly and helpful. Also liked the tea area and trail mix which was jut enough. I do look forward to returning and trying a service in the future. Only suggestion--I truly came for the steam room and relaxation. The steam was perfect except it the equipment can be checked out as when the mist would automatically come on during the process, the machine would make a loud, boom sound. We received an email before our visit asking if we would be able to switch our 10:30 appointments to 8:00 am or 11:45 am to accommodate another guest interested in services. Since we were visiting from out of town and had other plans, we were not able to switch to these times but eventually agreed to move to 9:15 even though it was not our preferred time. The attendants upon arrival were very friendly and welcoming. The eucalyptus steam sauna was closed for repair, which was not indicated when we booked. The dry sauna and hot tub were very small. As the morning went on it got incredibly busy. There were so many people waiting for appointments that there weren't enough chairs in the relaxation room, and it was very crowded by the vanity/mirrors and showers. Our treatments we good, not spectacular for the cost, but we expected expensive treatments on a busy weekend in Chicago. We were offered complimentary enhancements for switching appointment times-a face mask or eye mask. A nice touch but not nearly worth switching our plans around for. We had separate reservations to begin with but somehow when we were asked to move our reservation times, we were put on the same reservation. As a result, I was charged for my friend's service. We each made multiple calls to the spa to try to get it corrected. After at least four attempts to get it corrected over the phone, I emailed the spa. It took 8 days from when we were at the spa for them to begin processing a refund to my card. We were very surprised by all of this, especially at such a luxury spa.

Tierra was very professional, but also very friendly and made me feel comfortable. The 1st time with a new stylist can be a little anxious. Tierra was very intuitive about what I wanted, happy to see Pinterest examples to make sure we were talking about the same look, and she was honest about what could or could not be done with the length, texture, condition of my hair. The entire process was very easy, comfortable, and professional. I highly recommend the spa, and Tierra, and I will surely be back! Better signage would be helpful when you first step off the elevator, in order to find the spa more easily would be my only critique.

The ambiance is very chill and relaxing, and having a private room for our group was a nice touch. I'm giving 4 stars mainly because of a couple of small things. We were supposed to receive two bottles of champagne as part of our experience, but only one was brought out. We had to ask about the second one, and at first they actually refused to give it to us because it was already toward the end of the evening. I understand that we were finishing up, but we were supposed to receive both bottles as part of the experience in the first place. The other thing is that the pool and sauna are on the 8th floor, while the spa services are on the 5th floor. It's not a huge deal, but it would be much more convenient if everything were on the same floor. That said, we still had a great time and the overall atmosphere was lovely. I would definitely recommend it for a girls' day, bachelorette party, or just a relaxing spa day.

We arrived about 30 minutes prior to our appointments to take advantage of a few amenities. The check-in and check-out processes did not go smoothly. Logistics aside, everything else about the experience was superb. The spa had everything I needed. The pool and jacuzzi were co-ed, but the womens' locker room had an herbal sauna, steam room, heated relaxation loungers, and showers. I got a 60-minute Chuan Harmony massage with Francisco. The massage was very relaxing, and aroma therapy was part of the treatment to balance your elements per Chinese medicine philosophy. Francisco was also very friendly and highly professional. I fell asleep during the massage, which was a win in my book. Lastly, the pool service food was excellent. One of my best friends got a margherita flatbread and chips with salsa and guac, and my sister got a poke bowl. I had the pleasure of picking at everything, which I all found delicious.

I then had my massage, the only thing I'll say is that it was just okay. But I liked the finishing touch of them giving you a calming bead placed in the ear for anxious relief afterwards. I then followed up with spending the rest of the day enjoying all the amenities they had, and took a dip in the pool. I came here solo and had the best time!
