Today was the my last day that my daughter will be attending this speech facility…read more I recently tried to login to attend my daughters zoom session for speech therapy. I was appalled by the level of discrimination and false accusations about my child's attendance. There was a lack of understanding and compassion for the multiple hardships we have faced this month. We were treated poorly for the things we could not control. My daughter was exposed to COVID, and our car broke down. We explained our hardships to Theralympic Speech. Despite having explained that she was unwell and transportation was an issue, they refused to work with us a little longer to get back on track. We tried to speak to the director about our concerns about the policy and the troublesome speech therapist Katelyn; however, she failed to follow up and disregarded our concerns. The clinic first offered zoom meetings, but they lied about my daughter's attendance causing her not being able to attend speech sessions anymore. We did attend the sessions, they falsified her attendance on certain dates. When the therapist did sign in she was over ten minutes late at times. The therapist also kept trying to misdiagnose my daughter for something other than speech help even after we explained she has been evaluated. I highly discourage parents from bringing their children to this Speech facility. Unless you want to be discriminated against and mistreated, I would stay away from this place. No child should feel unwanted and be denied services due to hardships. No parent should feel like a failure after trying their best. Good luck parents.

Very disheartening experience with Stephanie, one of the Director's. Extremely rude and sarcastic…read more It is unprofessional to talk to potential patients casually. During a conversation Stephanie had voluntarily disclosed that with a particular insurance type a patient wouldn't be seen, and that her office was the only provider willing to accept and good luck on finding help elsewhere. What healthcare professional speaks like this so someone? This derogatory language is super judge mental and telling of her opinion of patients with minority backgrounds. To put down patient by bringing up insurance and the quality of it, when someone is just inquiring about options, is insane! I do not recommend using their services if you truly want non-discriminatory treatment, especially on Long Island. No matter sex, age, race, income, insurance, patients making even INQUIRIES for care should be treated with respect, professionalism and understanding. I am leaving a review because sometimes people just write off experiences like this and move on, but it's not fair if other potential healthcare seekers go through similar things that can be avoided by just looking over a previous person's experience.

She really jumped on board and joined our team to help him. It truly felt like a partnership to work with her. His stealth dyslexia diagnosis came as a surprise to us, so Anna's expertise was incredibly valuable. She was able to educate us as parents, as well as navigate his giftedness with ease. Anna's background and passion for helping kids is such an asset that any family would be so lucky to work with her. If she is still in the area next summer, I will definitely be reaching out to her to see if we can work together again. ~ Meghann, mom to Long Island 7 year old

Worst experience with a speech service provider!! My 4yr old is speech regressed. They were…read moreevaluated for speech "production" and swallowing, in spite of my child's past service history EXPELLING swallowing/ sound production disorder. The business NEVER conducted an actual speech evaluation! I sought Summer Services, had to wait until July for an appointment, though I called in May. But figured some speech service is better than no speech service. Our appointment was with a very young and green speech therapist, who was determined to follow a protocol guideline rather than take into priority my child's history and my SPEECH concerns. After a terrible 90 min Swallowing, Tympanometry and Sound Production evaluation (had they read my child's medical history or listened to me they would have known he doesn't qualify for those evals!). So naturally my 4 year old shut down. I was told to make a follow up so the speech therapist could (finally) conduct a Speech Eval. There was no follow up appointment available for follow up until mid-september! After waiting 2 months for this waste of time appointment?! No, thank you. Also, I was explained that my child would NOT regularly see the same therapist, the speech therapist in this business are interchangeable. Which is odd, there would be no consistency or building of a relationship. In retrospect I'm not surprised, seems fitting considering the Wantagh office was chaos, the staff were eating at reception while ignoring clients and 2 different people had to assist each other to LOOK into making me a follow up. Have had an on-going interaction with the billing department for 5 MONTHS. This business preys on hopeful parents, wanting the best for their kids. There is no human connection or child's best interest here. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD HERE!!
