As we have made five trips out in the last week and a half, purchased an antique bedroom set there using the store's staff as intermediaries, and been in and out of the store four times in one day loading up and carrying out our purchase, let me address a few issues: *STAFF: exceedingly helpful, witty, informative, and generous enough to help us get a 20%+ discount. Oh yeah, I forgot: NICE! *NO TRASH RECEPTACLES POLICY: Artichoke Annie's is exceptionally clean and well-organized, and I suspect they like to keep it that way. Considering they are located right off one of the most-traveled interstates in America, they would ordinarily be a perfect target for road-tripping antiquers and casual visitors to unload their vehicle trash. EXCEPT that they don't have receptacles, forcing such individuals to dispose of their trash at more appropriate stops (or maybe think twice about accumulating so much!). *NO PURSES POLICY: Artichoke Annie's is a vast store, with many items that could easily be ushered into a purse. Would that we were all unimpeachably honest, but, alas, we are not. Yes, they have cameras, too, but I've never known that to keep folks from stuffing items quickly into their bags. Suggesting you leave your purses in their FREE LOCKERS is just a way to reduce temptation and the likelihood of an awkward, possibly unpleasant incident. *OVERPRICED: I can only speak for the records I perused there (very reasonably priced) and the six-piece Heywood-Wakefield "mid-modern" bedroom set we bought (a steal, we thought), but their prices seem reasonable to me, and I trust the prices a little more since it does not seem like they take junk to begin with. *CUSTOMERS' VEHICLES PHOTOSHOPPED INTO BUSINESS' PICTURE: This may have been a joke, but so were several visitors' SERIOUS comments. Today we made four trips out there in four hours: very busy from beginning to end, including two shoppers who were out there the whole time. Trust the good-to-great reviews here, friends. It's very, very possible the disgruntled reviewers might have had their knickers twisted too tightly to begin with.

Legally they need a form 149, which I also had. They wanted a copy of the actual Missouri tax license which is not required and frankly none of their business. I also noticed that there were a lot of empty booths that weren't empty a few weeks prior, guess their vendors don't like their policies either... To the guy selling a Stanley Bailey 5 1/2, if you want to sell it without the mall making up laws to block your sale, hit me up.

February 2026 As a person that strives to buy from locally…read moreowned businesses, my personal warning is to stay away from Gordons Jewelers, Boonville, MO. In September 2025 I purchased one of their mediation rings ($200+}. The ring broke 4 months after the purchase. When I went into the store (Feb. 08, 2026) to request a repair or replacement, I was surprised by the lack of customer service, as I was told they would "get me a quote" for the repair. When I raised concerns that I just purchased the ring 4 months ago and was not expecting to pay for a repair, they replied that we will have to look at it (they were looking at it, and the jeweler was right there). I again expressed concern that I would be expected to pay a repair on a ring that was purchased 4 months ago. I asked if there was another ring in stock (they did not offer another ring in stock) and when I asked for them to check, they said that there is not another ring in that size in stock. They also did not offer for me to choose a different ring for replacement. When continuing to ask questions, I was told it would be MONTHS before they know IF I would have to pay for the repairs because the company that Gordon's purchased the ring from is in Canada. This was not my first purchase at the Boonville Gordon's (so I am a repeat customer). But this will be my last. Beware of purchasing at Gordon's in Boonville, MO. If you choose to shop there, my personal experience reflects an extreme and disappointing lack of post-purchase support and customer service.

So I prepared to drive to Columbia (I live in Boonville), as I'm accustomed to doing with my larger purchases. Before making the drive, I googled watch stores in Boonville and found Gordon Jewelers. "Audrey" answered the phone and provided insight into their watch selection; genuine customer service over the phone. (This type of great service is becoming too rare in todays retail) I arrived an hour later and had outstanding service from Mark, Audrey and two other ladies (didn't get their names). Yes, I would expect Customer Service to show/explain the product; however I'm extremely excited that I found the watch I need, at a price I like AND got it engraved, AND gift wrapped!!! All within about an Hour! As I was waiting on the engraving, I was shown some (engraved) cross-necklaces that will be awesome Christmas gifts for my daughters. Hey Folks, they have Christmas sales, Check Them Out! I'm so glad I made the call! Thank you Mark, Audrey and the Gordon Jewelers Team! Raving Fan, Raymond Sosa
