I am only reviewing this after I have fully picked through all the good records. I know records…read moreare dead (long live records), but these are only 50 cents, and sitting on the first stack of records was a copy of Orff's Carmina Burana by some big choir director I can't remember, but it was a big name, and I thought, "what else might I find?" I found a bunch of other stuff, and I can't disclose, because it would give away how cool everything is. This is a store, so to speak, run by the University of Missouri libraries, where duplicate records and VHS and CDs are sold. I was told by the helpful staffperson that about 10 seconds after the advent of CDs, the university radio station chose to sell all their vinyl, and the university library bought them all up. So now they sell off the duplicates and keep the rest for posterity. And you, the state taxpayer (or out of state visitor), benefits. I think 50 cents is a deal, and all the records I got were very well kept. Some didn't have a interior record sleeve, but they all showed very little wear and tear. Most of it is classical, but there is about half which is not. Of course you won't find the latest Radiohead album here, but if you're looking for something that a university radio station might play back in the days of records (Dave Brubeck?), then there's a good chance it's around.

Checkout line can sometimes get backed up but additional help is called in. (Or I check out at their cafe's register.) Sales are hard to beat, especially if you pay for BN Membership and : buy five bestsellers at "30 plus 10 percent off, you've covered the membership fees!

He was trying to shut down business before I even got the chance to explain what I was there to do. So from the get go I'm not thrilled to be there in the first place. Once I found the game I was looking for he had added up the games I had to be traded in. Only taking four of the 8 games I brought he was willing to take and gave me a whopping $14 for, he hands me back three of the games he wouldn't take and also hoping I wouldn't notice the one game missing that he stuck behind the counter hoping I wouldn't see. Let's just say I won't be going back there again. Shitty service. The guy was a dick. He tried to steal from me. Bottom line.

We happened upon Skylark Bookshop walking around one day when we had free time during a swim meet…read more We love to go to book stores and browse their shelves. When we walked into the bookstore, we were greeted by friendly faces. The store is nice, organized and clean. They had many different books on two levels! In the upper level of the shop, they have a table with a chess board, which was nice because my younger child was finished looking at books and had already picked out a couple of things before his sister. We sat at the table while working on his books while she kept on looking. We left this bookstore with a few different selections of books and other items. We really enjoyed shopping at this bookstore and would recommend a stop here!
