They have floor models so I wanted to sit in a few to see which was most comfortable. I finally decided on one and advised one of the salespeople which one I wanted to purchase. He took a picture of the tag and said he will check to see if it's in stock. After a while he came back and said they had 3 in stock and so he will retrieve one for me. I saw him climb onto that machine that raises them up so they can access the storage areas near the ceiling. I was pleased to see he strapped himself in (I'm sure their health and safety department is also pleased). I saw him checking several different storage areas. Then I heard him ask another colleague for help. Finally he came back and said there is an error with their inventory system because it doesn't appear that they have any left. He listed some nearby stores that had them, but I wasn't convinced they actually had them and didn't want to make the trip. I'm sure he sensed that, because he offered to order it online for me and get it shipped to my house (free shipping). I can order it myself online at home, but I figured maybe if he did it he'd get some sort of commission, and he already put in so much effort to help me, so I was like ok, sure. He goes to the computer and tries to add the chair to the cart and the system freezes. He tries a few times without success. By that time I was at the store for much longer than I expected or wanted to be. I thanked him for his efforts and said it was ok, I'll just order it at home later. Lol. So 5 stars for the guy who helped me and A for effort for him, but 2 stars for a faulty inventory system and slow/frozen online ordering system. Incidentally, I also really dislike their website, as when you search for things it lists items that are sold out and you can't filter for only available items. I realize their website and systems are not store-specific but rather corporate. However, these issues affect customers' experiences and opinions of the business. I do like Staples in general and would rate them 3 stars overall, but the customer service at this location bumps it up to 4. I also like that there's a washroom at the back of the store. These days I get so much hand sanitizer build up on my hands that it's nice to use some good old fashioned soap and water sometimes. There's lots of free parking in the plaza.

In 2 years I've maybe returned 2 items. This Staples is the return centre for Amazon. So quick and easy, in and out. The same Clerk has helped me out x 2 now and she's great. Lots of parking. Never busy when I go. I love the odd clearance area and the seasonal things they can sometimes have at Xmas. I'm a fan but I mainly come for the Amazon reason.

However, the online…read moresystem I tried to use before I went to the store had two major problems: (1) all the files I uploaded had to be re-uploaded to a different website at the store, and (2) the online system only accepts credit cards from Canadian residents (I have a Canadian bank account, and own a condo in Canada, but my billing address is in the US, so the Staples website would not accept my credit card) -- and they did not disclose this until after I had spent a couple of hours uploading my files and fine-tuning the print options so the costs were reasonable. There were 3 people working when I went and they were all busy helping customers. I brought a flash drive and was notified that the copiers themselves have print capabilities. The machines are all updated which was awesome. I basically put in my credit card, inserted the flash drive, and it printed. All without a person or formal computer. It's very convenient.

They said ink was defective probably stored incorrectly. Brother kindly offered to send me replacement. Staples said that since Brother was sending me ink cartridges for free they didn't not need to reimburse me . They asked for a note from Brother saying staples should reimburse me. Brother stated they cannot dictate Staples return policy and apologized for my inconvenience. The staff I dealt with should not be working in customer service. Very rude, unhelpful. I was actually quite appalled . Staples should replace their defective products.

The staff was always light-hearted and the prices were very reasonable. I even tried to get a job there - it was such a great place. The only downside is the hours - they are closed at 6pm during the week and that really caught me off guard one night when I really needed their help.

These are complicated training manuals requiring multi-color paper/ tabs / single-side/double-side, etc. Nightmare jobs that I wouldn't take anywhere else. Chris is friendly and professional with every job - whether I am spending hundreds of dollars or just sending a two dollar fax.

We came in to look for school supplies and we got a ton of choices. They have some nice material for today's trends (focusing now on video games and video making). The bad: Weird weird weird customers. One of them kept following us around and getting in our way. Others talked to themselves. Items are overpriced (Amazon has better stuff for cheaper). The place also look like there is not much maintenance and everything is disorganized. Nevertheless, we found what we were looking for and the cashiers were nice and full of smiles.

I had a bit of a hard time finding the things I was looking for as it wasn't familiar, but eventually I got what I needed. As Emma mentioned, the copy area is a bit of a nightmare. The staff were pretty unhelpful, and I ended up printing everything from the self-serve kiosks. I also happened to overhear some swearing and inappropriate conversations (think date night over-shares) from two of the male staff stocking shelves. A bit of a bright light at the end - the staff member who checked me out was lovely and smiley and great at customer service. The other staff could certainly take a lesson from her!
