I love the quirkiness and creativity you can find inside. Went in and purchased a pair of bald eagle designed socks as well as a candy cane striped legging. The cotton fabric was very comfortable and was not thin at all like some of the pairs I previously owned. This is one of the few locally owned stores in the area and they do a great job preserving the character of the community. The prices are affordable and you'll have a large variety of socks to choose from. The novelty designs are unique and will definitely make you stand out. I've had strangers start conversations with me and complement me on my style.

Yes, they sell mostly one item here, but they do it very, very well. This store has one of the most amazing sock collections I've ever seen. If you are shopping for a sports fan (baseball, basketball, football and more), an art lover, comic fan, a Star Wars fan, a cat lover, a dog lover, a trekker/trekkie (whichever you prefer to be called), or just want a cool looking pair of socks, this is the place to go. The people who work here are friendly, helpful, and very laid back. They will gladly answer any of your questions. The prices are generally reasonable, if a bit higher than in other places. However, can you find Van Gogh or Scooby-Doo socks at K-Mart? Basically, if you are looking for a unique/goofy and practical gift for a friend, or to treat yourself, this is the place to go!

I've been shopping at The Sock Man since they were a stand on the street--"yeah, over there," said the guy today, pointing across the street next to Grassroots Tavern when I went to buy my socks today. (In the 80s, that was right across the street from where I lived.) They're my go-to for cheap cotton socks ($3, 2 for $5--although they used to be $2, 3 for $5) and I've gotten some excellent tights here, too. Considering that boutiques and department stores sell ordinary socks for $12-15, I don't think their prices are high at all--they gotta eat, too.

Laces from the Sock Man. Got several different colours. Don't ladder them anymore cos I don't give a shit anymore ;)

When someone below said, 'The Sock Man delivereth'...he was not kidding. And I don't care if you just made that word up, sir, because this place and the people and things contained within it are certainly worth making up words for. Seriously, every and any style/design of sock your twisted brain could conjure up (and even some it couldn't) is available here. Striped socks, polka dot socks, martini socks, Thanksgiving socks, even socks with obscenities printed all over them (YAY!)...you get the idea. I'm not all that much of a sock girl (more a fishnets and backseams girl...and lo and behold, they've got those, too!), but even I could not help but gawk and grab. And the best part of all is that this is the only place in the entire city where I was able to find non-black laces for my boots...I'd originally come to St Marks in desperation to enter the den of iniquity known as Search and Destroy, prepared to shell out $20 for laces of marginal quality, but when they didn't have any in stock, I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask the Sock Man. $4 A PAIR for gorgeous checkerboard laces in some fantastic colours (as well as a number of other patterns that didn't strike me so much)...I did have to ask, and the very friendly salesgirl did have to retrieve them from their hiding place, but I got what I was looking for...hell, MORE than I was looking for...and left one happy camper. LOVE. THIS. PLACE.

Fun shop with different length, style, and patterns of socks. Some funny or cute ones too. Some are just pretty general. Sell a few stockings, individual pieces of clothing items, pins, etc. The pins are pretty pricey but it looks alright quality so it's not worth it but it's like $3 each, even with the general super tiny ones. The staff isn't too friendly but talked a lot with another older lady, it's was alright.

My cousin took me to a cool sock place after I told him I love fancy socks. Although I have not bought socks in a while, I was curious to see what they have to offer. I went in here and was in awe. They had all types of designs, including sports and food. I bought two pairs of socks for me and my girlfriend as a gift.

Cool local store with unique themed socks and outdoor wear - mitts and toques. Staff friendly and open late. Cool to check out. Great for souvenirs or gifts !

Note that I've previously stepped inside the shop to survey the selection, and last night I stopped in for what was only supposed to be a quick moment... The owner greeted me and almost immediately started talking prices. This is $20 dollars and we have that for $25 dollars, but this is a little more expensive, and that's this price. Oh, that fascinator is beautiful on you and you can put it layaway. It was just $79 dollars, mind you. Excuse me? It's such a turn-off when people see brown skin and assume that the purchase would be unaffordable without a payment plan! Not to mention, I started off by noting that I was only taking a quick peek on my way to pick up my Nordstrom purchase. Though I promptly told her that I don't need layaway and I pay for things outright, I had already decided that I wouldn't be buying from there. Her fixation on talking to me about price was all I needed to hear. Nothing disgusts me more than when people make assumptions! I have beautiful vintage hats in my collection, fine jewelry and quality costume jewelry, and beautiful bags that I've purchased abroad. She could've had a repeat customer who prioritizes quality goods and, more importantly, quality service.

I am confident, however, I will find something that appeals to my frugality. I do not know if Muji invented the concept of a brand that is not a brand, in the sense of not advertising itself, which ironically achieves its own iconic minimalist status. They have perfected it though. Last time, I got their 90 degree socks. I actually have concluded it is not a gimmick. I have some socks that slip off, at the heel, in particular if I wear them with runnig shoes. These do not. Everything I have acquired from Muji has gone into my regular rotation. The design is good, the quality is there, and the prices are not outrageous. So I commend Muji to you if you have a similar sense of not wanting to want, but being willing to browse. I'm confident you will find something on every visit.

My order arrived with missing items despite paying oversized shipping and waiting days for delivery. Since then, I've been stuck in an endless cycle of apologies with almost no action. After nearly a week of emailing back and forth, I was asked to provide my order details again. Why? The entire email trail already contains everything they need. Instead of reviewing the case history, each representative seems to start from scratch, wasting the customer's time because they can't be bothered to read their own correspondence. Muji has mastered the art of apologizing without actually resolving anything. Every response is filled with sympathy and promises to "look into it," yet there is no urgency whatsoever to fix a mistake that was entirely their responsibility. Once they have your money, you're left waiting while your case sits in limbo. For a company that promotes quality and simplicity, their customer service is anything but. Poor communication, zero ownership, endless delays, and customers forced to repeatedly chase for updates. Paying extra for oversized shipping clearly doesn't translate to better service when something goes wrong. If you're lucky enough to receive your order intact, you'll probably have a good experience. But if there's a problem, don't expect Muji to treat it like a priority. Based on my experience, their customer service is all apologies and no accountability.
