The bread looks bakery-made or freshly baked, not store-bought, which really sets it apart. The surprise star was the elote. For $4.50, you get enough to share with 2-3 people. Perfect balance of corn, cotija, mayo, and roja salsa--so good I'll be ordering two next time. The picture did not indicate it was a tres leches cake that I do not like, and no one asked or clarified the cake type when I placed the order. I reasonably assumed it would be a standard version. After paying $77 for a small cake and was not what I expected I contacted the owner. Instead of acknowledging the confusion or trying to resolve the issue, I was told the picture "represented" a tres leches cake, even though it was never labeled as such. Initially, they offered me a refund; however they suddenly changed their mind. Instead of honoring what they originally offered, they began explaining that they had already paid the baker. While I understand businesses have costs, those should not be pushed onto a customer when the misunderstanding happened because of poor communication and lack of clarification on their end. I wasn't expecting anything unreasonable-just accountability and an effort to make things right. A business earns loyalty not by never making mistakes, but by how they handle them when they happen. Sadly, this experience left me stuck paying for a product I ended up throwing away and the need to purchase another elsewhere. I would strongly encourage future customers to get every single detail in writing and ask very specific questions before placing an order here, because assumptions and unclear communication can apparently become the customer's problem very quickly.
