Super cute local ice cream shop with rotating flavors and small batch ice cream. Reasonably priced,…read morefree sugar cones, cake cones, and sprinkles! Easily the creamiest ice cream I've had in a long long time!.

Just kind of eh. The service on my first visit over a year ago was incredibly bad - girl working…read moretalking to friend for two minutes until I asked if I could please get some ice cream and they both wheeled around and glared at me like I just crawled out of the sewer. This is why I waited so long to go back. Second time around I brought the kids. Service was very kind and attentive, but the ice cream had the same problems: everything just tastes like salt. I swear to god it's the saltiest ice cream I've ever had. Also, basically no mixed-in ingredients. The butter pecan has a few tiny pecan specks. The "cortado crunch" is like 99.8% cortado and .2% crunch. The blue (for some reason) cookies and cream might as well be black specks and cream - if you find a recognizable Oreo fragment in there, better go play the lottery next. It's a shame because the parlor is so cute, and you can tell they've put a lot of effort into pretending to be Jeni's, what with "Gail" in loopy script and "fine ice cream" versus "splendid ice creams." And I love the romantic idea of a hometown ice cream shop. But the bland flavor and miserly balance are easily outclassed by each and every basic-ass chain in the city.

I'll be honest, this review is coming a few years late. But I've eaten enough tiger bite waffle…read morecones on a hot day on my way to Tureaud to know that this is IT! I'm surprised to see not many reviews; I guess this place is a well kept secret. Even less known is that they sell various frozen meats including goat sometimes. My freshman 15 (20? 25?) was definitely half panda express, half lsu dairy store. For better or for worse.

I love coming here as a reward for being a good student. I usually check it out once a week as they…read morehave a rotating weekly flavor that is $1.10 post tax. It's definitely a great way to try different flavors. In my social circle, we love asking each other what the flavor of the week is throughout the week and sharing our opinion on it. They also do a punch card thing for milkshakes which are usually 3 scoops of ice cream so it's thick. The employees are usually super nice. Sometimes when the original flavor of the week is not available, they will give you your flavor choice for the price of the FotW. Also, they sell meat in the fridges, I assume they're fresh as heck as a result. I haven't bought meat here but I know others do, it's probably really good :) The tiger bite is a special flavor at LSU, it's vanilla based with blueberries. It's a little sweet and the texture leftover can be a little sticky in the mouth. It's hard to explain that but it's not perfectly smooth. The oreo is my favorite, they do it right here. Only issue about it is that it's hard to scoop so the employees don't usually make it the FotW as a result so I rarely get it. The vanilla is a classic and dependable flavor. I'm not a chocolate gurl but the double chocolate has a nice rich flavor. I also liked the chocolate oreo, it definitely goes well together. The mint chocolate chip when I had it was disappointing. It lacked the chips to balance the mint flavor. People really like the peach flavor but it just doesn't taste like peaches to me, maybe a hint of it but it's not that good. I don't really like the toffee flavor, I wouldn't try it again. The strawberry cheesecake was pretty good and I prefer it more than the blueberry cheesecake flavor. I remember having it 3x in one week. To summarize: S tier: Oreo, Strawberry Cheesecake A tier: Vanilla, Chocolate Oreo B tier: Tiger Bite, Double Chocolate C tier: everything else :P

La Divina has become one of my favorite places in Baton Rouge. I usually stop in for a dry…read morecappuccino, and it's consistently excellent. What keeps bringing me back, though, is the atmosphere. In the mornings, it's quiet, warm, and inviting--the perfect place to read, think, or prepare for the day. It's also become one of my favorite spots to meet with colleagues, entrepreneurs, and investors because it's comfortable enough for conversation without feeling noisy or rushed. I also want to recognize Bethany, who makes a genuine difference in the experience. She greets everyone with a warm, full smile that immediately makes you feel welcome. She's attentive, thoughtful, and truly cares about making things right if something isn't quite as expected. That kind of hospitality is rare, and it shows. If you're looking for more than just a good cup of coffee--a place where you can slow down, think, read, or have a meaningful conversation--La Divina is well worth a visit.

I was very disappointed with the panini sandwiches at La Divina Cafe. I ordered the roast beef…read morepanini, and to my surprise, it contained only a single, paper-thin slice of roast beef. For a sandwich advertised as roast beef, I expected a reasonable portion of meat, not something that was barely noticeable. The portion was extremely disappointing and made the sandwich feel like a poor value. If you're going to serve a roast beef panini, the roast beef should actually be a substantial part of the sandwich. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would have a hard time recommending their paninis.
