We were undecided as to what to have for dinner, and then we saw The Smugglers Rest which looked kinda cool and had a varied menu which suited us both. I had fish pie with cheesy taters on top, peas and boiled potatoes, my wife had king prawns in garlic butter with rice and mushrooms.
Both dishes looked great when they arrived and my wife said the prawns were delish. My pie was as hot as the devil's forehead and remained so until the last bite, I'm hoping the skin on the roof of my mouth grows back pretty soon!
I'd give my dinner a solid 8/10. It was good but not outstanding. The service likewise. I'd like to come back and try the chicken pie next time! read more
