The portions were very generous and the brisket was dripping with juices when it was being carved. I ordered a side of Mac and cheese. It looked so good on my tray. Unfortunately my Mac and cheese was overcooked and had gummy noodles and a soupy texture despite being made with real cheese and being seasoned well. The brisket was as good as it looked but the dry and woody pulled pork ruined an otherwise perfect sandwich. The service was lackluster. I felt like I was bothering the staff. 02/15/2026 Ate here for the first time @ 2nd south Market. We got the 3 meat sampler with 2 sides for $24. Everything was amazing. Seriously the best brisket I've ever had. Moist, flavorful. Even the sides of potato salad and fries were great. The beef, did have a fair amount of fat, which could have been trimmed before serving, but it certainly made the beef juicy and flavorful. Things cooled down pretty quickly, but the flavor of the meats (pork, brisket, & turkey) were amazing and juicy with a fantastic smokey taste. I'm not big on bbq sauce, I want great meat flavor without it and Smokey bone BBQ delivered. Will definitely be back when we visit Twin Falls again. We also liked the 2nd south market which had lots of food places around central tables so family could choose different places/foods (pizza, Sushi, Vietnamese) and you could all eat together. This has got to be one of the best tri tips i have ever had! As soon as you walk in a wall of delicious bbq smoke and smells hits you in the face! Ribs, and tri tip are amazing. I love there bbq beans because they aren't the sweet flavored ones. These have bacon pieces cooked in with the beans. Smoky bone always had the best smoked turkey, visited Sisters BBQ (new name) today and was very disappointed. Turkey was dry. BBQ sauce tasted like straight apple sauce. As a brisket lover, they definitely did not make a 4 or 5 star brisket (Must have been the day or cook). While the portion size was good, the meat was very dry and chewy. Plus the side they recommended (cabbage with bacon) was essentially tasteless except for a few pieces of bacon. To start it off ordering was a shamble. Out of mac n cheese, the fountain drink dispenser was out of order, and couldn't buy beer (yet there was beer in the fridge)... underaged staff. The inside probably had 30+ flies and a fly trap hanging by two tables with maybe 50 dead flies on them. Got the food a bit to quickly for a bbq place in my opinion. The bread was stale, burnt ends were 50/50 (rock hard, or soft), the corn bread was cold with little flavor. This place is amazing! My wife and I love trying BBQ spots wherever we travel, and this is the best of the best. We tried everything and couldn't pick any favorites because they were all so good. They make everything from scratch, and they don't short you on anything. If you're staying in Ketchum (which is where we always stay when we are in town) it's not a far drive and totally worth it. The inconsistency of this restaurant baffles me. Sometimes it's ok, last time I went was amazing and tonight was not good. The brisket and ribs were good. The pulled pork did not look smoked, possibly slow cooked in liquid? My husband thought it was Turkey at first glance. The mashed potatoes were greasy. The Mac n cheese noodles were over cooked and the cheese sauce was chunky and almost to the point of dried out. Our cowboy beans were not in our to go order. We also had several uninvited guests at our table, we were sitting indoors! We were visited by at least 4 different flies and a few ants that were crawling up and down the wall. We also saw staff measuring out food on parchment paper but did not change the paper between orders or meat types. Not sure how long that piece of paper had been there that day. First off, the employees were not wearing masks or gloves and we are in the middle of COVID. I really don't know why this place is rated so high. Our food was very disappointing. I tried to order the baked potato (because Idaho, duh), but they were out. I tried to order cornbread and they were out. The fridge with the drinks was not working.... lots of strikes to start the experience... I should have known better. I finally settled on the chicken combo with mac & cheese. The Mac noodles were overcooked and the cheese tasted sour and artificial so I didn't end up eating it. The chicken had a dry rub on it that also had a sour taste to it. The BBQ sauce ALSO had a sour taste! Not sure what's up with this place. The meal came with toast (I was expecting Texas toast or a garlic toast) and it was some cheap wonder-bread-looking white bread which was not worth eating. The ONLY thing I ate from the meal was the chicken, with nothing on it. I probably should have sent the food back but I wasn't in the mood for the hassle. My partner ordered the brisket combo with cowboy beans and she was also disappointed with her meal. The meat was lacking flavor and was very fatty - all it had going for it was that it was tender and not dry. The beans tasted like they had been sitting out for a while. She had one bite of the beans and left the rest. The white horseradish sauce was gross. Sorry to be so negative, but it was HORRIBLE. I would recommend driving a few extra minutes to Ketchum to eat. HOLY BRISKET BATMAN! I read the guy from Texas' review & I thought to myself, I lived in Texas for almost 3 years, this guy has got to be exaggerating. He wasn't. Best brisket I have EVER had.
