This could have been caught not once but twice, Prince Creek didn't see it then sent the wrong tooth x-ray to the Endodontist where they would have seen before I made the $400.00 appointment I trusted prince creek. When I called to speak to the office manager I was told she was out sick and would follow up with me in a few days. In the meantime I was urged by family to contact another dentist upon explaining to them by phone what was going on with my infection they had me in under an emergency and all thank God has been dealt with. It's been over a week and still no phone call from Prince Creek office manger or any other authority or concerned staff member of Prince Creek. This has been a sad and very dangerous experience Please be carful with Prince Creek I am truly trying to help 1/15/2026

Dr. Obenchain herself is excellent--professional, knowledgeable, and someone I trusted for my care…read moreover the past three years. Unfortunately, the billing office completely undermines that experience. After a routine visit on March 19, I received a bill right before leaving for a family vacation (April 3-17). When I returned, my entire family came down with COVID, which delayed me from going through my mail. As soon as I reviewed it, I immediately called and paid the balance on May 1. Despite that, I received a letter from the billing office claiming no payment had been made and stating I would now be required to pay in full at the time of service. The tone was unnecessarily harsh and accusatory, especially given my consistent history of paying my balances over the past three years. Including a policy as if I were unaware or negligent felt condescending and completely disregarded the reality that sometimes life happens. There was no attempt at understanding--just a blanket, impersonal response. It's unfortunate because the quality of care from the doctor is not reflected in how patients are treated on the administrative side. In the end, the billing office's approach was enough for me to take my care elsewhere. If you choose to go here, be aware: the medical care may be great, but the billing experience can leave a very different impression.

With all the trips to Murrells Inlet Dentistry I'm making...I'll probably be getting an address…read morechange from the post office real soon. If you have to decide on a Dentist please call for an appointment here. I can remember the first time I came here. It was east to find. I just had to look for a tall toothbrush and a big molar tooth for a mail box. It is located across the street from Chic-fil-A. In Murrells inlet. I turned right just before the bristles. There was handicap parking right in front of the building. A ramp to the left of the office. Very convenient. That toothbrush out front has outlasted many hurricanes...when my toothbrush starts to look like that one; I know it is time for a new brush. If they ever take it down I would never know where to turn right. Walking inside it seemed everything was so bright and clean. I was thrilled to find a dentist to be able to see me. There was soft calm music playing overhead. Sarah and lane at the front desk were so friendly. They helped me with finances as well. I had to retire early due to cancer twice. I was unable to see an eye doctor or dentist during my chemotherapy. I think I was too sick and weak to see one anyway. My financial situation changed a bit. I signed up for their insurance program. When I met the dentist she was so kind, gentle, and caring for my overall wellness. While she examined me she hummed lightly and it was very soothing. Today I had some filling work done on me. The last few visits had some teethed pulled that needed pulling. I was making quite the coins from the tooth fairy. I hand made a small tooth fairy pillow for Bev one day. The white felt tooth is the pocket that holds the tooth. Now I'm using it. I was not able to keep the actual tooth so I drew a picture of my tooth and put it in the pocket. See photo below. The next morning I had a quarter. I told Bev when she got her lower denture implants done... that she now needs to pay the tooth fairy back for all her teeth since she is getting new ones. Isn't that how it works? Anyway if you are looking for a fabulous Dentists come see Murrells Inlet Dentistry. They are wonderful. Tell them Willie sent you.

I had to wait 2 weeks for appointment (told them I had a tooth cracked) which I understand the wait…read morebut then when I arrived 15 mins late because I entered their business in google & it led me a wrong place, they all had an attitude when I walked in & told me they gave my appointment to someone else... they seemed to not even want to see me at that point & barely looked at me while I stood there wondering what to do & the woman said we will see what we can do like my appointment was in question... I could feel their annoyance which was a bit over the top... you can still politely tell someone I'm sorry but you were late.. but they treated me like I just did something bad on purpose ... The girl Sarah (at the end of my 5 minute appointment) went to set up another appointment with me & asked how I was as she looked away to type & I just politely said I was okay just a little upset that I took the whole day off & whoever booked me on the phone said they would block extra time for me knowing it was more of a serious issue that my tooth cracked .. Then she told me she was the one who booked it & got defensive. ( I was actually willing to let it go but I just wanted to express a little disappointment) she proceeded try & shame me for being late & I said I didn't do it on purpose you must know this is an issue with the address & she kept saying well I shouldn't have been late if I wanted to be treated today & that she only blocked off an hour (which I would have also appreciated her telling me that on the phone when I asked how long should I block off for the appointment & she said she wasn't sure how long it would take so I just took the whole day off work smh) then she said I should have called to let them know I was running late if I wanted to get helped today.. but I told her I was driving on the highway and didn't want to get in an accident......l had to pull over off the highway stressed trying to find their other address & the next one was right not the one that first came up on google.. I told her I didn't like how she was speaking to me & was trying to stay calm but she started overtalking me in a condescending tone & we were both getting louder... she was saying they have been there for 30 years & it's not their problem but google's problem ect... I said excuse me I need to finish my sentence because she wouldn't let me finish... she was being very rude & I told her she was being rude as she had a smirk on her face... So, I had to pay $128 out of pocket just for a 5 minute session today where they took like 2 xrays of just the one tooth & that's all we did & I lost money calling out of work today too.. wasted my time making me wait 2 weeks for nothing, I could have gone to a better dentist office that would have helped me sooner.. the girl who took my X-rays today was very nice & caring making sure she was gentle while taking X-rays but the office is not friendly... I have to say in the past I really loved Dr. Ballangee she's great but I am going to a new dentist office as of tmrw I already got an appointment when I told them my situation... wow people who actually care unlike how I was treated here... this is the second time I was treated so rudely by staff here.. last time a dental hygiene routine was terrible the girl was angry & kept hurting me with sharp instruments forcefully, & splashing water up my nose & all over my face carelessly looking away then noticed she was squirting up my nose & said oh sorry, apathetically... it made me not even want to come back but I gave it a second chance here today because my tooth cracked & then because the confusing address thing they hated me as soon as I walked in ... there is truly no need to be so rude, condescending, & accusatory to people... I spoke to my family about what happened & they called our dental hygienist friend who referred me to another office so I am not returning here..some staff are very rude but some are very nice too but I don't have time to play Russian roulette with my money and time not knowing how they will be.

Please avoid this dental practice. Their business practices could be considered predatory, any…read moremajor diagnosis they recommend demands a second opinion, their communications from their receptionist to the dentist are poor and their billing practices suspect and not at all transparent. The quality of care, in my opinion as a 71 year old physician who has seen a lifetime of dental work, seems to be substandard. I rarely give poor reviews unless I feel that others well benefit from them as any business can have a bad day, or individuals can make mistakes, or so often poor reviews really reflect the biases and quirks of the reviewers. Google Aspen Dental and lawsuits and you will find that they have paid out millions of dollars in class action claims for the very sorts of practices we encountered. Our visit, which was just to establish care and get xrays lasted 2 1/2 hours. We waited 45 minutes to be seen, then my daughter waited another hour in the chair without being seen. I asked the receptionist if our wait was excessive and got the terse reply of "no", and "we are busy today". There were two other patients in the waiting room. The hygienist, who was the only person who made eye contact with either me or my daughter, stated that they were short staffed that day. Yet we could have been told this upfront and given the chance to reschedule. The receptionist, in her terse manner, had indicated that we weren't told this as such waits are not unusual for them. My daughter was told that all four of her wisdom teeth had to be removed. She has no pain, no impaction, the wisdom teeth are not crowding other teeth and no explanation was given for why they had to be removed. Our dual insurance was to be charged $6000 and we were expected to pay $1500 for what insurance would not cover. Aspen is in network for both our insurance companies, one of which is Blue Cross. Several studies of dental care document that it is common for one dentist to recommend extensive care such as removing otherwise healthy wisdom teeth whereas another dentist might simply closely monitor the teeth. There is a wide range of opinions for dental work and anyone going to Aspen should get a second opinion. A common tactic by unscrupulous and predatory dental practices is to overcharge insurance companies and then bill the patient for the excess. The purpose of seeing in network providers is to avoid these types of excessive charges. Blue Cross and others, when designating a practice as "in network" is an effort to prevent their consumers from being hit with these unethical but not illegal practices. Aspen Dental recently settled a class action suit for such predatory billing practices, but as the fine was only 3.5 million dollars, perhaps they see this as simply the cost of doing business. We were then told my daughter required deep gingival cleaning by the dentist. We were asked to pay 60% up front, even though both our insurances pay for such care and Aspen is in network for both of them. The hygienist apologetically told us that perhaps deep cleaning wasn't needed at all and that we could have our money refunded if it wasn't necessary when she presented for the work to be done. Aspen declined to discuss any of their billing practices with us, even the most common questions such as "how much is my insurance company going to pay" and we were told that they wouldn't bill our secondary insurance at all but that we could submit the bills after the fact and that the insurance company might reimburse us. The point of being in network is to avoid that sort of cumbersome process which can be difficult to get properly reimbursed. It is not surprising with such a predatory tone and seemingly unethical and poor communication and office organization in an office, that the employees seem very unhappy. In turn, they do not make eye contact, rarely smile, are terse in their comments and opaque when questioned on the most routine questions. Certainly that was the case at the Murrell's Inlet Aspen office where it appeared no one there wanted to be there. After spending 2 1/2 hours at Aspen for a visit that should have been 30 minutes at any other office, we clearly got the idea that these employees are embarrassed to be working there and very unhappy. In the Murrells Inlet area we have many many choices for dental care. For example, we go out of network to go to South Strand Dental. With the sort of predatory pricing seen at Aspen, it is actually cheaper for us to go out of network, which is precisely NOT the way the system is supposed to work.
