We were the only ones there on a Sunday afternoon, which was nice in a way because we had the coach and space to ourselves. We opted for the Standard, which was $26.98/person for 45 minutes. Throw first and pay at the end. First, we scanned a QR code and signed an online waiver. Then, the coach explained the rules and provided demos of how to throw with one hand and both hands behind and over the head. He was very friendly and provided tips and tricks throughout our session to improve our aim. Despite using a hatchet, which is meant for one hand, I thought it was too heavy so I had to use both hands. If you have enough arm strength, one hand is better because you can line up the axe with the target, which helps improve your aim. It was definitely harder than it looked and felt like a full body workout! The axe handles and targets looked a little run down. In addition, there were a lot of wood chips on the ground and I almost got some splinters. Side notes: 1.) 10-minute walk from Colma BART station 2.) Bathrooms available in the hallway outside. *Verdict: Unique activity for a date or hangout with family & friends

Since it wasn't busy, our group of 3 was able to play simultaneously. While the ambiance is slightly lacking with it being super cold and brightly lit with gym lighting, the experience was really enjoyable. Our host was nice enough to lend us a tripod as we were trying to record some of our games! Also as the last group of the night, we got to try the large heavy axes. My advice would be to dress comfortably and expect some light strain on your back and arms. The place is sort of tucked in the martial arts building and at night does not look so welcoming. But there are decent sized lot right outside. With our student emails, we also got a discount during payment at the end.

Excellent stop to cool off after wandering the Saturday Sacramento Midtown Market!…read more SITREP Located right on K Street a block down from the Midtown Market's main channel up & down 20th Street, ForePlay is a fun stop that is full of LOTS of distractions of fun and drink to escape the heat. THE SETUP It would be imprecise to call ForePlay just an arade because it also brings in some of the fun carnie elements you'd catch at a State Fair. One of the more eclectic elements is the axe-throwing range! Tons o' fun. FULL BAR The most beneficial aspect of this stop was the full bar, which - after a couple of hours of heat in the sun while wandering the Midtown Market stalls - was a wonderful treat. Coool beer! There is random parking along the streets and some rare off-street parking lots, but limited parking during events. THE LOWDOWN This is a great stop from to duck into from the heat, or for groups making the rounds. I enjoyed watching a bridal shower when I was here!

Sad to report this place wasn't somewhere I plan to return…read more Half the pinballs machines didn't work. Three of the machines got the ball stuck and wouldn't allow me to keep playing. With each game costing one to two dollars I felt a little ripped off I couldn't even finish my game of three balls. The pool table me and my friend played on was quite frankly disgusting. Tons of stains on the table and felt peeling. The balls all chipped and scratched. Also there was some issue with something being stuck when the game was first setup with my friend putting it together but I wasn't paying attention. He had to flag down a worker to help resolve the issue. I get it, things are pricey these days, so a newer business has to find a deal when they can, but at least find a way to improve an already overly used item. I don't expect brand new pool tables, but at least tables that look like the business cares Not to mention the ground and walls were just dirty and gross. Seemed like nobody is really cleaning the place. All the tables tops seemed sticky (if you know you know). The velvet lounge just kinda seemed like a random thrown together area, but maybe on a slow Monday it didn't feel right with lack of people. The workers were great and gave great service, just sadly all the half run down amenities that is supposed to make this place great, makes it pretty lackluster. I guess come if you want the axe throwing?

I wish they had veggie sticks with them.. overall the food was ehhhh but bowling with fun family was fun .. I had a blast

Reserved 4 lanes for $25 an hour, so we can use the banquet menus which had bigger pizzas. You check in & buy tickets In the parlor. Janessa at the register was super nice & sweet. She also communicated that the computer only allows 3 lanes during reservations. And then we called to follow up with the manager. We Got 3 pizzas (2 cheese, 1 pepperoni). The pizza took a little while to come out. Reserved time for pizza at 2pm. So the kids have something to eat during bowling. And didn't come out until 2:30. But it was fine. We did see them bring food to playground area. So I know you can order & they bring it to you. Communication was through email. And it was easy, and they got back to us quickly. * Common sense-The $25 per hour is perfect timing. It all depends on how many people you have in your lanes. We had 6 people per 4 lanes. And we only got half way through the game too!!! But it's because the amount of people who are playing, we actually had a great time. The maintenance guy was there quick when you needed help with the balls getting stuck. And Damian attending the playground was super nice. The girl at the front desk was attentive & quick getting shoes for everyone. And super calm. :) Especially with the big groups of people. *The arcade games seem to work for our party kids. We got a lot of fun stuffies from the claw machines. I guess You just gotta know how to play them. Because It's a GAMBLE!! Hahaha And we saw some boys that won like a thousand tickets. So we had fun in the arcade. Not bad for an easy unplanned party. And shout out to the kids that work there!!! It's not easy dealing with grouchy people. But would totally recommend for a girls/date-Night.

Get Axed in Roseville is a wild, well-run good time -- think beer-pong-energy targets, tic-tac-toe projection games, and enough illuminated targets to keep everyone entertained between throws. The staff are friendly, informative, and actually helpful with coaching throws and explaining the games, which made the whole experience way less intimidating. You can order cocktails (solid pours) and snacks -- another party got a stack of pizzas from Costco and the place handled it like pros. Bathrooms were huge and spotless, which is always a relief. The space is cozy and wooden, so yes, bring your sense of adventure. I left with sawdust in my hair and a grin. Photos attached show the games and the menu -- great spot for a rowdy date night or group hang. Go with friends, wear something you don't mind getting a little rustic, and have fun. 1) Axe lane and illuminated targets -- bring your A-game. 2) Tic-tac-toe projection -- more competitive than it looks. 3) "GET AXED" beer menu -- drink options for every palate.
